Tax Alternatives has been filing my taxes for more than five years. Their service is excellent,…read moreprofessional and affordable. By word of mouth, I heard of their services from a friend who lives in Ballard. I've recommended Tax Alternatives to other friends and they've been loyal customers as well. There are plenty of H&R Blocks and other fancy tax preparers in Seattle that pop out like mushrooms in Spring. But I'd rather entrust my finances with a local company that knows me and will keep my finances secure than a chain store. When it comes to money, it is about trust. Trust that you can call them if you have questions. Trust that your personal and business financial records are in good hands. Trust that your tax preparer is knowledgeable of changes in tax laws. Trust that they dot the i's and cross the t's before filing so Uncle Sam won't come knocking on your door. After all, in this country, you may be able to hide from the CIS, but you cannot run away from the IRS. Hello, just look outside Home Depot.

Larry Stave refused to provide copies of my tax return when I got into a divorce process and my husband took everything with him. They first insisted I upload my driver's license and last two years of return first before providing a quote through some secure portal, and until I did so they wouldn't answer questions or provide a rate. AFTER I provide that information, and they take the PII, they then reach out to tell me that they do not file 1120-H. If that's all they needed to tell me and that they cannot do HOA's tax returns; why do they insist on gathering PII first?

I can't say enough good things about Tomko Tax Consulting…read more I've been using Shanna and Todd for quite a few years now, having used them the first time when I was going through a divorce and the return was quite complicated. They even reviewed my prior years taxes, found errors, submitted amended returns and literally saved me thousands. They've always been incredibly accommodating. After my first year with them, I no longer feel the dread of the season or the desire to curl in the fetal position as tax time nears. Beyond knowing I'm getting the best return possible...I've also consistently been impressed with how they embrace technology. From my first year, physically dropping off copies of receipts and w-2s to uploading scanned images to an FTP server, to online form submittle...they're always looking for ways to improve the overall experience. Everything from start to finish can be done online now, even the payment. They are more than smart. They are accessible, friendly, honest and absolutely confidential. They always make time to answer questions...and to make sure the entire process is transparent. It really couldn't be any easier.
