The UPS on-line website quoted $1.15 for insurance per $100 of shipment value. This location quoted me $5.+ per $100. That's almost 5 times as much. On a shipment with a value of $500, as an example, that's the difference between $5.75 and $25. If the shipment is of significant value, a valuable vase for example, that you want to insure for $1,500, that's the difference between $17.25 and $75.00. I asked how they justified that kind of markup. Their explanation was that they're a franchise and not a store owned by UPS. Probably a great place to take Amazon returns, not my choice of a place to ship anything of significant value that it's advisable to insure. We never got to the quote for packing and shipping for my item, so I cannot say anything about pricing in those categories.

Ohhh....MY...gosh, THIS TOWN has SMELLED HORRENDOUS - EVERY SINGLE DAY -- since we've been here...!!! Its DISQUSTING. To make matters WORSE, since we've been staying here, my 2 (very healthy) cats have been hacking and sneezing after the first few days we arrived. I take my puppy out to go potty at 6am, and all you can smell is RAW SEWAGE in the air. I guess after you live here for a while, you become SO IMMUNE to the wretched SMELL, that fewer and fewer people will complain. I'm 100% POSITIVE that the toxicity of this place will make front page news in a few more years, but THANKFULLY I'll be living elsewhere...!!

The jacket was clearly…read moresecond hand with some staining, which I was fine with because it fit and was going to be an outdoors coat. At the check out, the lady tells me that this coat "should have" a tag because it's Columbia brand, and that it would be $4 more than what the sign was BECAUSE they up-charge for Columbia. She asked if that was okay, and told her that the sign said $8 for jackets. She then proceeded to say "it's okay not to buy it". Maybe $4 is not a lot to the average person, but it is a lot to most people going to thrift stores, including myself. You got the item for free and I'm coming to a thrift store because I can't afford to buy retail as a student... I ended up not buying because of that increase in price. Again, the jacket was in no means "good condition", it just fit and I needed a jacket. It's unprofessional to up-charge a worn item at the cash register just because you THINK it should be more.
