I should have read the reviews first because what happened to me, happened to someone else. I am disgusted by the fees this company charged me and quoted me for work. Not all of us who live on 30A are wealthy, but they are going to take advantage of the area! I should have called around before I had them come out for a service call. $50 trip charge, $160 charge just to find the leak, then they charged me $171 for the first pound of freon and $100 for each additional pound. Other HVAC companies (Odis Brown) in Santa Rosa Beach are charging $80 a pound. So just to find the leak and give me 3 pounds of freon, I was charged $630. The guy was here for one hour. How do I know, because my ring doorbell can prove it. Plus he had to leave and go pick up freon since he forgot it so i'm sure that was added in the price. Additionally, this company quoted me over $2k to replace a coil in my indoor unit, which included a $125 acquisition fee just to get the part that was under warranty. Who charges a fee just to order in a part? THAT REDUCTION RIGHT AWAY IS ALSO IN THE EMAIL. So if you complain, they will reduce the cost but if you don't, you're stuck paying an ACQUISITION FEE to just GET YOUR PART? I asked for their hourly labor rate and how long it would take because it was not broken down on the quote and the response I got back was "As far as the rest we price all our jobs based on flat rate pricing which has labor and materials included for each line item". The parts were already listed as line items on my quote so they clearly do not want to provide me an hourly rate and are full of $hit! Then they added on a wet safety switch to my quote and told me originally that "You don't have to have the wet safety switch but it is highly recommended". When I questioned him again about it through email, Bob stated that "it is required by code to have a secondary drain protection ie the wet safety switch under all air handlers". So first he tells me "I don't have to have it", then he tells me "it's required". So which is it Bob? I INCLUDED SCREEN SHOTS OF MY EMAILS WITH BOB SHOWING HIM CHANGING HIS STORY. Quoted me $210 for a line drier which I found out is necessary when replacing a coil, but when I called around for pricing I was quoted only $75 dollars for that part and the labor to install it was already included. So to conclude, Beachside's labor to replace a coil was over $2k and I got a new quote from Odis Brown for around $700 not including tax. COPY OF QUOTE BEACHSIDE'S ATTACHED. DO NOT RECOMMEND, they are ripping people off and adding on unnecessary parts to get a higher invoice. I hate to write a negative review but I feel I must since I used these reviews to choose Beachside AC. Yes Beachside came out promptly on a Saturday night and alerted me to the fact that an after hours charge would be $30 or $50 more than a during hours charge. Actually the reason we called them was because we were not immediately able to reach our regular ac guy, Scott Gallagher, Plumbing, heating and AC. Scott did text us shortly after we had, in desperation, called Beachside AC to tell us he would come out on Sunday morning. We should have waited but we had already made arrangements for Beachside to come! Live and Learn. We wanted the air fixed and now so we accepted the $135 service charge. Within an hour the rep was at our home and within 2 hours the job had a band aid but the a/c was working. The rep warned me that our 2 year old Rheem unit may be a counterfeit one out of Alabama therefore not able to take advantage of the ten year warranty. The kicker comes on Monday while Scott was repairing our AC. The proposals from Beachside AC came through the email followed promptly by the rep calling to let us know he sent it; Very professional. However, Scott Gallagher, 850-865-8264, had already picked up the part and he and his helper were in the process of replacing the coil unit. His total bill was $200 as the labor part was not covered under warranty. A far better response than Beachside's emailed proposals for a new carrier unit for approx. $5800 (which included a $300 discount) OR to fix the leak for $938. To be fair Scott only replaced the coil unit and felt the other items on Beachside's estimate were not actually necessary for the unit to work properly as we service it annually. So rather than a negative review I prefer to make it a plug for the Independent AC repair guy Scott Gallagher! He is, and has been, very responsive and able to repair, replace and maintain all our ACs as needed! We will never call anyone but him in the future! read more

My husband and I have used this company for over 11 years, and they have consistently provided us with efficient,friendly, and affordable service. This past weekend we experienced a heat advisory with temperatures near 100 degrees- which was the perfect time for our air conditioner to stop working. We called the answering service at 10:30 on a Saturday night, and our air was working again before noon the next day. It's a comfort to know there are still companies that take pride in their work, and are willing to give up their weekends to provide quality service for their customers. read more
