As a local, I've see this golf cart whiz up and down Las Olas but never thought to call. But my recent out of town guests, grabbed the number and called one afternoon and the 6 of us piled in and got whisked from Las Olas down to the beach. (It's a big cart and can hold up to 7 plus the driver) Now I see the range of review ratings on here and it might be because it seems each of the drivers work on their own pay scale. We had Marc who was great! Gave us a card with his name on the back so we could call his cell when we were ready to change locations. He works on a tips basis but knowing that's how he makes his money, we paid him well for his time. Plus it assured us he'd make us a priority when we needed to head back. (And it worked!) They have a range that they operate in so don't expect to go up to Pompano or down to Hollywood. This is more of a beach transport between Harbor Beach to Sunrise on A1A, or downtown along Las Olas and everywhere in between. It was fun, cheap transportation with a personable driver who knows this town. Made me feel like a tourist in my own town! read more

If you have a little time and want another way to soak up your beach vacation --- I highly recommend Beach Hopper (verses a taxi or uber). This is the first time that I contacted them (I guess they recently expanded their service area in Fort Lauderdale to reach more resorts. I was very impressed with their promptness and professionalism. After scheduling a pick-up, our driver Terrance contacted us immediately to confirm our location. Later on that evening, he followed up and see if we needed a ride back to our hotel. Keep up the good work. read more

A quick and easy way to get around Ft Lauderdale's amazing beach and downtown. I have ridden with both Tyler and Marc on different occasions. Both are fun and professional. Tyler charges a low fee while Marc doesn't have a price. Marc asks that you tip him a fair rate. He is worth every penny! I highly recommend giving Beachhopper a try! They are quick, professional, and my entire family loves riding on the golf carts when they come to visit. read more

This happened back in late October 2015. My friends and I were taking a walk down toward the Beach our first night in Fort Lauderdale when we met George and he offered us a ride in the middle of the street. We told him we didn't have any cash on us. Instead of riding off, he smiled and said "hop on in, I'm headed down there anyway". We were a bit skeptical but at the same time grateful since our feet were killing us already. Let me just say - George was amazing! He was funny, and friendly and gave us a few good tips around the area during our short little ride. George made our first night very memorable in that we got to experience the laid back and friendly hospitality of Fort Lauderdale. Yes - we weren't actual customers - but the fact that this is how they treat folks with such kindness makes me vouch for their integrity. I saw the bad reviews below and they are all so obviously from the same group of 7 people who were complaining about the $90 scam - I don't believe those reviews. TOURISTS: THIS IS A MUST READ. Let me start by saying-- I made a Yelp account over a year ago, and have yet to use it--- until now. I, for one, think it is less of a review-- and more of a warning. My line of work is customer satisfaction and I deal with 'less than satisfied' customers on a daily basis-- so my usual stance is that reviews are cowardly and more of a perspective/ "matter of opinion." This, I assure you-- is more of a "BEWARE." I went to Ft. Lauderdale for Bachelorette Weekend with numerous other females. We were clearly a group of tourists to any of the locals. A young man, "George," saw us walking outside. He explained he worked for a transportation company and exchanged numbers with us. He told us that if we needed a ride anywhere that evening, he would be happy to take us. After being harassed by George for 3+ hours (we never answered his 10 repeated calls)-- we were finally ready for dinner and accepted George's offer. George took an hour and a half to get to our house to pick us up, once we did call. His estimated time over the phone was 10 minutes. We were an hour late for our reservation. On top of that, George had a completely different demeanor when he came to get us. He was unpleasant-- after being over an hour late. - (Before you assume we were rude/intoxicated, we were neither...) This was our first night out, so we had no idea what the price of transportation would/should be for the area. We were charged $90 to go about 3 miles. While we did think this was absurd- there were (7) of us, so we could afford this-- and we had no previous travels to base this off of. We did not want to make a scene or ruin our moods-- so we accepted it and the consensus was we would never use Beach Hopper again. After taking a different transportation company home-- (954-777-7777 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) we realized our trip realistically cost $12-$15. We were speechless. Our neighbors, who were locals-- had never heard of 'Beach Hopper' and told us this was ridiculous-- and suggested we either A) call the police or B) contact the Better Business Bureau. Our suspicions were confirmed-- we were taken advantage of. The very next morning, we called Beach Hopper to speak about what had occurred. We spoke to "Laurie," the Owner. She recognized we were schemed and she advised us she would reimburse us $45. We were happy with this resolution. At that point, it was not about the money-- and more about the principle. We asked if we could go pick up the $45 so we knew this was a thing of the past and we could enjoy the rest of our time. Laurie, advised us, the location was at her private home-- and that she would deliver the money-- herself, the very next morning to us. We thought this was certainly accommodating and obliged--- as we would be at the house the majority of the day. As the hours passed and there was no sign of Laurie, we contacted her around noon. She said she was far from the area and could not give us a time she would be around to fulfill her promise and keep her word. The runaround had begun. We communicated over texts and calls, cordially at first--- but then Laurie completely changed her tone--- as well as the volume of her voice. Personally, I know how to speak to people as again, this is my line of work. Never, at any point did I disrespect-- or raise my voice at Laurie. I wish I could say the same about her. Yelp was mentioned-- and I told her I would not like to resort to this. She dared me to as she has 'been in business for years' and this would in no way injure her reputation. What reputation? She owns (1) golf cart. Yes, 1. Yes, a golf cart. After about four hours of constant communication/bs'ing from Laurie, it was apparent she was NOT a woman of her word. I tried to explain to her that $45 was a small business expense as opposed to any bad review (again, this is about the principle). I know that for every bad review a company receives on any reputation website -- especially Yelp-- the business loses 7-9 sales. Sorry Laurie, if in the very least I stopped you from getting (1) sale, I've succeeded. Moral of the story is -- this 'company' is a scam. Do yourself the favor and contact the very memorable phone number I've added above. Over the course of 4 days-- and 8+ cab rides throughout Ft. Lauderdale, I spent less in transportation than I did with one Beach Hopper [3 mile] trip alone. Sorry Laurie, but I never pass up a good dare... read more

Having so many beautiful memories on my future sister-in-laws bachelorette party there is one unfortunate thing I wish I could change. Contacting this service will go down as one of the biggest mistakes of my life. After calling to discuss pricing in the afternoon and being told that it depended on the miles of the trip our group decided to wait to call when we decided on dinner later that night. We were then called numerous times throughout the day asking when we needed the beach hopper. After the relentless calls we finally said yes. After waiting almost two hours the cart arrived. Charging 90$ for under a 3 mile ride for 7 people seemed outrageous but being the upstanding citizens we are we decided to pay it. When catching a cab home that resulted in only a 15$ payment we realized we had been scammed. Calling in the morning to find out how this could be resolved we spoke to the owner who seemed very upset about our experience and wanted to correct the problem. She offered to reimburse us for half of our money and said she would personally deliver it first thing in the morning. After getting the run around all day we ended up being yelled and cursed at by the driver who was supposedly bringing our money because he could not find the location. We ended up getting nothing and wasting our precious vacation time with these pointless and childish shenanigans. All on all, AVOID THIS BUSINESS! read more

Used the beach hopper today. Could not stop laughing at our driver. Such a great personality and really made our drive from Bahia Mar to Sunrise BLVD an exciting on. So much nicer, open air and substantially cheaper than taking a dirty Fort Lauderdale Cab. I was a total UBER lover, but since they are no longer in Broward, I found my fix. My friends and I were in town and saw these golf carts driving around. We called up the dispatcher Laurie and she told us all about it. The driver took us on a tour, and to the best restaurants. Had the best time! We used them the whole trip. Best way to get around with the nicest people!!!! read more
