It took more than 20…read moreminutes to try and sign-up, and my sign-up kept getting interrupted because the beds weren't working and other customers had to keep coming out of their beds to enter their passcodes at the front desk to try and get their beds started. No one working there had ANY idea what they were doing or how to get people checked in and tanning. After I FINALLY got signed up, they told me they'd only let me into a bed for 1/2 time, even though I'd been tanning elsewhere and already had a base tan. They were going to charge me $20+ to go in a bed capped at just 5 minutes. I've never had this at any other tanning salon, and I certainly have no incentive to transfer my business. They were slow, unhelpful, nothing seemed to work, and they were going to COMPLETELY rip me off. No thank you.

The manager, Bella, provided a 7-day free trial and said CEO/President at European Tanning Inc, George Papadapolis would follow up. After reviewing my original call, George agreed to honor the 10-day trial by adding 3 luxury bed sessions to my account. However, on my next visit, only the 3 sessions appeared. When I contacted George, he had removed the 7-day trial, ignored our agreement, and insisted the 3 sessions for $25 was a great deal. When I followed up again, he canceled the remaining sessions (I have yet to see a refund or refund email) and told me to pay full price. At the very least, the 7-day trial should still be honored. Until European Tan improves its customer service and ensures consistency in its offers, I wouldn't recommend going there.

I've struggled with it my entire life and have always envied girls with beautiful tan skin-they always have such a healthy glow. Occasionally over the past 15 years or so, I've attempted the "spray-on" tan (AKA The Donald) and have never been happy with the results. I either come out looking orange, blotchy or there's hardly a noticeable difference. And I always smell chemically for a day or two. But I thought I'd give it a try...again. I was assured by the nice girl at the front desk that the products have evolved over the years and are much better than they were before. Because of the blue undertone that they use, she promised that I wouldn't turn presidential orange. After getting a tour of the rest of the salon's tanning beds, she directed me to the room and booth where I would be sprayed. It looked the same as I remember from previous attempts at other locations; tall shower-like booth where you stand inside holding strange positions while your pale skin is misted with the glowing substance. The entire time I'm standing in there, I'm nervous that someone will walk in on me. Even though I'm sure I locked the door. The end result was not orange, happily, but also not really noticeably different. I did carry the strong eau-de-spraytan for a few days but not a strong difference in skin color. I had opted for the milder of the options, not wanting to be too drastic, so I'll assume I should have gone darker. I'm going to give it another shot-this time with the next level up-to see if it looks a little more noticeable. But overall, I'm still not sold on the spray-tan idea. Maybe I'm just meant to be super white.

In the waiting room they provide you with the comfiest robes I've ever felt, sandals, water, tea and coloring books as you wait for your session to begin. Extremely disappointing experience, especially regarding how management handled a gift-card issue…read more I purchased a Christmas promotion from Spavia Sandy in December 2019, under the previous owner: buy three gift cards of equal value and receive a fourth of the same value free. At the time, I was explicitly told that Spavia gift cards did not expire. I still have the original cards. One had no expiration date. The other had 12/31/19 printed on it, which the employee physically crossed out while telling me the cards did not expire. Since I purchased it in December, I specifically asked about the date and was assured it was not an issue. The card I gave my mother was never used because she passed away suddenly before she had the opportunity to use it. I later found it while cleaning out her home and brought it with me to my appointment along with my own card. First, I want to emphasize that the massage itself was excellent. Donovan was fantastic. He was professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful with my pain. I was so impressed that I planned to book three more appointments with him. He deserves recognition for his service. Unfortunately, checkout completely ruined the experience. The receptionist told me one card would work but that she needed to contact the new owner about the other. The owner was contacted via FaceTime, given a brief explanation, and immediately said the promotional card would not be accepted. Then, incredibly, the receptionist told the owner that I was refusing to pay. I never refused to pay. I was trying to resolve a legitimate question about a gift card I had been explicitly told did not expire. I was even attempting to find Spavia's corporate contact information so I could clarify whether the previous owner's representation was still honored. Instead, the owner instructed the receptionist to call the police. Four officers ultimately arrived. I explained the situation and repeatedly stated that I was not refusing to pay. Spavia already had my credit card information, and I ultimately told the receptionist to charge the remaining balance to my card. I simply asked that no gratuity be added because I was extremely uncomfortable with how the situation had been handled. I was also told that under the current owner's policies, promotional gift cards expire after a maximum of three months. That may be the current policy, but it was not the policy under which I purchased these cards in 2019. I was never informed that previously purchased cards would suddenly be subject to a different expiration policy after the ownership change. One officer still had the disputed gift card and told me Spavia wanted to tear it up. Thankfully, that did not happen. I retained the card because it is evidence of what I purchased and what I was told. The ordeal added roughly 30-45 minutes of unnecessary stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. It also caused me to miss another appointment and incur a missed-appointment fee. There were many reasonable ways this could have been handled. Spavia could simply have charged my card while investigating the circumstances surrounding the original purchase. Instead, a confusing gift-card issue was escalated to the police as though I were refusing to pay -- when I was not. Donovan: 5 stars. Management's handling of this situation: completely unacceptable. I hope the current ownership reviews how situations like this are handled. Calling four police officers over a customer attempting to resolve a legitimate gift-card issue, while misrepresenting that customer as refusing to pay, was an extraordinarily poor customer-service experience. I will not be returning to this location, despite the fact that I would have happily continued seeing Donovan.
