I have lived here for 5 years. Location is great. Manager Anna is very helpful, professional and nice. Pool, jacuzzi, gym and grills are very good addition.Their condition is great. Gated parking, car is stored in a shade. The building shows its age but Anna keeps it maintained as good as it is possible. I recommend this place if you think rent is reasonable. Giving 5 stars because my experience with Anna is exceptionally great. This apartment complex has been an absolute pleasure to live in. I've been here for almost two years, and have never had a single issue. The apartments are renovated, fresh, and the pool and spa area is absolutely fantastic. Anna, the property manager, is an absolute pleasure to work with! I have lived in a one-bedroom at the Beachbrook Village Apartments in Redondo Beach for over two years, and recently came home to the dreaded "we're raising your rent" letter taped to my door. In an attempt to justify the $200 increase (from $1,395 to $1,595), the letter included the following paragraph, which I am copying absolutely verbatim, including the capitalization and punctuation. "These rent revisions are indicated due to increasing costs of maintenance, yet it is still a bargain below pre-recessionary rental rates. Beach living is in high demand as the public realizes that Clean Beach air is a vital component to health. Many live here to take advantage of the best marine air Los Angeles has to offer. (Smog capital of the USA). According to medical science, this close proximity to the Salty Air is very beneficial to your health, quality of life, and can add several years to your life expectancy. Clean Beach air is vital. Your SmokeFree community is the best first start to reduce 2nd hand smoke. In addition, you enjoy certified organic non-toxic cleansers and hallway air fresheners." As an attorney, I should be most offended by the unsubstantiated medical claims, but the Type-A obsessive in me can't see past the bizarre capitalization. This letter has everything I could ever want - the unintentional poetry, the complete lack of self awareness, the Salty Air. While the property manager, Denise, has been kind to me during my time at Beachbrook, there have certainly been problems, including taking 24 days to fix the single treadmill in the very limited gym. Overall, not a terrible experience, but the rent increase, paired with the very odd letter, compelled me to leave the Beachbrook. read more

Been living here for nearly 3 years and yes all the Negative claims are true....they've raised my rent significantly for the penthouse loft every year. I started at 1750 a month less than 3 years ago. Effective July it will be $2100. The nerve of posting a letter to my door with that info is simply disgusting and says a lot about philosophy and business etiquette. Denise is passive aggressive in her language and tone is inundated with sarcasm and of a patronizing nature. She will so overly pleasant at the beginning but not so much that you will know it's fake. She will say all the right things but her tone will reveal her bitter nature projected onto you. Be warned it will get worse. Also, elevators are often NOT functioning and when they are they don't function properly. At best they work slow and are noisy. When calling or texting Denise about it, she will go through every means to shut you down, or make you feel as if you're concerns are exaggerated. It is a quiet area for the most part ,it may have to do with the high turn over I've witnessed over the years. The view is stellar and you'll have to remind them frequently you need the windows cleaned in order to enjoy the view the partial view you're paying for. read more

I lived at beach brook for several years. Since the new manager has come in there has been so many great changes. Things that we were told couldn't be done were completed right away. The outside pool area was updated, the gym was given a refresh and updated equipment. The best part is the attentiveness. Anytime I had an issue and I reached out I was responded to promptly, followed up with to ensure the maintenance was completed and was still working properly. I moved out recently to be closer to my new job and Anna could not have made the process smoother. From turning in my notice to giving me clear instructions what needed to be completed before I left. Thanks for making my move easier!! I would recommend living hear if you want great and quick service when an issue arises and of course you want great access to the ocean. read more

Proceed with caution. I was advised to put a deposit down even if I wasn't sure if I wanted the apartment. I made sure to ask if we could get a refund if we decided not to take the apartment. It was confirmed that it would not be a problem. That was not how it went down. I let them know in 2 days that we weren't going to rent there. I was told that we would get our deposit refunded. Well. I tried contacting them many times for almost a month. I had to seek counsel and finally I got a response and most of the deposit back. (Minus $100). read more

Location here is great for sure, no complaints about walking or biking to the beach anytime I want. BUT ... they have cut down and tore out every tree, bush and plant on the entire property. They replaced everything with AstroTurf. The building now looks like a mental asylum. Yikes! The onsite management was always good, but one of the reasons I originally moved here was because they didn't allow dogs. Now every damn tenant has a dog, peeing and pooping all around the building. Genius idea to replace the grass and bushes outside of the building, with plastic astroturf. Now the dog urine smells ever more strong. Also still lots of plumbing problems. Im sure the owners are getting great profits though! read more

Well I've been here 9 months now, it's definitely an older building. The one thing that actually helped was how well the nice green landscape was maintained. Well that's all gone and replaced with artificial turf. Just about all the plants are gone, they even put artificial turf in the raised beds. This was done both on the outside of the building as well as the inside around the pool area. It does seem the inside plants also used to help with the echo. Now the interior echo seems louder. FYI the pictures posted no longer have plants. That nice beachy feel with the lush green plants is over, feels just like the rest of concrete LA. Very bleak and sad looking. Oh and the best part is when my lease is up I am sure I can expect at least a 10% increase, because of course they want tenants to stay. read more

I agree with what someone posted about our landscaping being removed as that was very upsetting. However, I have lived here over a year and my 5 star review is for our manager Denise & our handyman Hans. Denise has always been extremely nice and very conscientious of the tenants concerns and addressing any issues. She's really a great manager. Hans is also really nice and does a great job doing repairs well and quickly. I'm sad about losing the landscaping but I do love my apartment. There are great people who live here and it's really nice having Denise and Hans here to take care of things so well. read more

I try to find good things about this apartment. I found one that it is walking distance to the beach and pier. Other than that, bad things one after another. First, Denise, the manager. She is not helpful, don't respond when you need to contact. She likes to threaten you instead of telling you. Second, rent cost. After contract ended, be prepare to pay a couple hundred more. Two bedrooms only come with one parking. You have to pay for another one. Third, expect the warning letters along the way. They like to change things with very short notice. Pool and jacuzzi, the time that I lived there, I'd never seen they cleaned it!! Very dirty! Watch out!! Noise, Denise or her husband will come out from they balcony on the first floor and yell at you or come talk to you if you make noise that they can hear or bother them. Of course you will hear it!! You live near the pool. I am done with this place. She seems nice when you sign contract but she will turn to "Bitch" after that. Be prepare!! My recommendation is try other apartments for better environment and be happy!! read more

RENT INCREASES!!! Constant, aggressive, rent increases. If you're coming to look at the building just ask a tenant who has been her for longer than a year or two and ask them about rent increases. The one bed that faces a wall, used to be about 1700 a few years ago, now it's 2195... don't expect to come here and get comfortable at that price, you'll be paying another 5-700 dollars in 3-5 years. read more

I've been here two years now, and just received my second rent increase of almost 10%. If not for the regular rent increases I might have given three stars. It's an older building and the maintenance is just adequate. The place is clearly managed for maximum profit. It's number one upside is location. I am in a one bedroom unit and find the storage space inadequate. The on-site manager and maintenance guy are reasonably responsive. I have been taken aback though by how many times they've come into my apartment for inspections and needed repairs. Also be aware that the heat is electric.
