The Beach vet is absolutely wonderful for taking care of all your pets' veterinary needs. First and foremost the Vets are all amicable and clearly love animals. Dr Coring is absolutely amazing as are the other DVMs I've seen there. You really get the feeling that they want to care for your animal first and the business of the veterinarian comes second. Next, the ancillary staff is wonderful and accommodating. They are always friendly and excited to meet your pet Finally, the front desk is polished and courteous. Rather than throw you on hold they will ask if they can place your phone call on hold when needed. They are quick to bring animals to the back for treatment, and they could not be more accommodating. I highly recommend you consider taking your animal to the Beach Vet. My dog King gets the absolute best treatment there! read more

Extremely professional staff, took their time to answer questions and speak with me in regards to my dog's current condition. The office is profoundly clean for a vets office, and you do not feel as though you are crammed in the waiting room or the exam rooms like many other vet locations. Very convenient location for those in Bradenton/Cortez; though the parking lot is quite small everything else is a plus! read more

If I could give negative stars, that is what Dr. Pace at Beach Vet would get. We took our almost 14 year old lab to him to have put to sleep today. After waiting almost 45 min he came in and gave her a sedative to calm her for a couple minutes. This did NOT calm her. This put her almost asleep. She did not even know we were in the room, her tongue hung out of her mouth and her eyes just stayed open. If that wasn't bad enough I had to go find him to tell him she was completely out of it and he needed to come back in there. Finally he came back in and had us lift her on the table, no pillow, no blanket, no comfort for the last moments of her life. He couldn't find her vein and therefore ran out of medicine and she was bleeding everywhere. He had to leave and go get more medicine!!!! This time when he came back he shaved her leg to find her vein and give her more medicine to finally put her to sleep. He was unprepared and unprofessional. We have had dogs our entire lives. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with such unprofessionalism at a very emotional time. All of this was made known to Dr. Pace and he apologized and said he wanted to do an IV to administer the medicine. I explained we had been waiting in the room for 45 minutes for him and that was certainly more than enough time to do that and why didn't he???!!! I told him that I hoped that he never put another person through being unable to tell their dog goodbye and not being prepared with enough medicine to put their dog to sleep. read more

When I brought my little sneezeball to Beach Vet a couple of weeks ago for a checkup and to explore why she was sneezing I asked Dr. Pace for an estimate for the services and her treatments. I told him specifically that I could not exceed $200. That was my hard line budget amount. Lesson learned that day, and I want to pass along my words of wisdom. I suppose this could apply to any veterinary practice. If you have hard line budget figure you absolutely cannot exceed, do NOT, and I cant stress this enough, do NOT disclose this amount to them. Go lower, much lower because these people went right up to $200 and then a few cents over, just to rub it in. In doing this, they took advantage of me, leaving my family with $20 for the month. I used to love Beach Vet, but now I can't trust them. And they won't see my babies in their office again. Fool me once, shame on you. You won't get to fool me twice. read more

Waited 45 minutes past my appointment before taken into an exam room. Then waited an additional 20 minutes before being seen. While the staff was friendly, not acknowledging a customer of a possible longer wait time, or any type of status is simply unprofessional. Drove 45 minutes based on a referral. Will likely find a vet closer to my home. read more

Wonderful, professional Clinic. My family was in the area on Holiday when our Chiweenie began acting ill and unlike his usual routine. The staff was attentive and were willing to see him on short notice. They were gentle with him and answered all my questions while really listening to my concerns. They certainly offered me peace of mind while being so far from home. Thank you Beach Veterinary Clinic read more

I had taken my last pup to Beach Vet when I moved to Bradenton, but stopped because of the impersonal, high costs. When I bought my current pup at Petland five years ago ($3,000), they included coupons for Beach and told me it had changed ownership. So I had her spayed there and have kept up with theirexpensive visits. Thankfully, my pup hasn't needed more than regular exams and shots. The staff was always friendly to me and my dog, whom they should know very well considering how many times she saw the chief vet, who usually showed up for brief exams. Always pleasant. But I will not return. In February, while I was in the hospital and going through tough times myself, my precious pup was staying at a dog sitter's and a pit bull snuck under her backyard fence and attacked my 19 pound dog. The sitter was hurt herself prying my baby's head out of its mouth, calling police, and incurring $1500 bill at after hours emergency clinic. Thankfully, my dog survived, but when my sitter called Beach with the news and to set up a follow up to check stitches, neither Dr. Jaden or anyone else called to express concern, as my vet in NJ would have done. And when we went for the visit, a technician we'd never seen said she'd administer an antibiotic shot even though my pup was on antibiotics. She charged over $100. and didn't express as much sympathy as a stranger would. Ditto for Dr Jaden. They just keep sending reminders of upcoming shots even though I asked for my records and told them I was done there. read more

One of my dogs had been suffering from a bad stomach/intestinal bout for about a week.. when we were in Longboat for a month. After asking about for local recommendations and reading a few Yelp reviews, I called BVC. This was a terrific and lucky choice. He was seen by Dr. K, who was patient, attentive and thorough. She checked him out carefully, then explained all she did and recommended. The entire staff was professional and pleasant, in fact. And their procedures and fees were comparable to those at our hometown vet. I highly recommend this clinic.. read more

I Would give a zero stars if I could. Raked over the coals. Sent home with a puppy with an ear infection twice. They would not treat unless I agreed to bloodwork. Suggested a dermatologist. Next day different vet treated with antibiotics like I requested and both puppies recovered in a few days. read more

Very friendly staff. Unfortunately they have no regard for their client's time. I just switched from a Banfield plan to the plan at Beach Vet. Of the three times I have been here, the shortest wait I have had was 30 minutes past my appointed time. Today it was 45 minutes. For working people who have to juggle multiple responsibilities, the lack of care for timeliness makes going to this clinic very difficult. Unfortunately I just signed up for a year-long plan. I will be calling to see if it can be refunded so I can go somewhere more conscientious. It's too bad... the people seem very nice. read more

In June/ July of 2018 I brought my 2 small older dogs to Beach Vet and signed up for their wellness plan. I had my toy poodle's dental cleaning and they removed 5 or 6 more teeth than they had told me they would but said she needed it. Mind you - the wellness plan covers the cleaning but the charge is $50 per tooth that is extracted. When I brought my 10 year old Maltese in for her cleaning a few weeks later I had been told from her prior exam she would need approximately 3 teeth pulled and confirmed that at 7 am when I left her in their care. I was working, received a message later that morning and I assumed it was them telling me that she was doing good after surgery. When I called back I was then informed by the receptionist that they removed 16 teeth without my consent and had already charged my credit card for the $50 per extraction. The girl was not able to explain why the vet made the decision without speaking with me first. I was very upset when I got there and in disbelief that Dr. Nicole Corning DVM did this without my authorization. I had to request to see her when I arrived. I was not taken into an exam room, rather I wanted to see the teeth and ended up having to dump them out in my hand sitting in their lobby. She explained that they use a tool and if they can wedge it under and between the root they will just pop the teeth out. Some of the teeth had a little decay but most just had blood and tissue on them. They also brought my dog out at that time who was soaking wet, had not collar or leash and her mouth was hanging open. They told me she had an accident and needed a bath. So after this major dental procedure they threw her in the bath, barely dried her and had to go back and get the harness and leash. I honestly was in shock and did not know what to even think I left and that night my dog had so much blood in her mouth it was getting on my floor and she cried all night. I stayed up with her all night. They had maxed out my veterinary credit card with the extraction charges so I couldn't take her to the animal ER. I had tried to call them several times that night but they did not answer their phone or have after hours assistance for clients that had animals that had surgery. Needless to say, I was highly upset and went to their office the next day. I demanded they refund the charges and cancel my wellness plan. I was outraged after watching my dog go through that all night and not be able to help her especially since I would have NEVER consented to that without another opinion. My dog will never be able to eat anything again except wet food as she cannot chew anything. No vet would come out to speak with me that day. They made me handle everything through their receptionists. Today (a year later), I ran into the veterinarian Nicole at a store. I had not spoken to her since I had left with my dog. I told her that after what she did to my dog and the suffering she caused that night especially, doing that without speaking with me I felt she should lose her veterinary license and hope she doesn't do that to anyone else animal. She has only had her license for approx 4 years when she performed this dental cleaning. Nicole Corning DVM of Beach Vet had no problem telling me in front of all the customers at CVS that it was necessary regardless of whether I had consented or not with MY DOG, did not seem to care that she caused suffering only kept asking if I she was better now (seriously, a year later), told me that I acted completely ridiculous getting upset in their office and she is glad I am not a customer anymore. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. This is dangerous that a veterinarian would first perform a procedure on my pet removing almost every tooth in her mouth without even speaking with me then tell me I was in the wrong for getting upset. Still 100% believe this woman should lose her license. read more

MONEY HUNGRY is the only way to describe the doctor who bought this business a few years ago. I took my dog to him, showing him all the tests from other vets. and explaining her symptoms which evidently had been hard too diagnose. I explained that I was trying one more time to see if another vet, meaning Him... Luke.. at Beach, would be able to help me with this problem. I did ask that he not do the tests that had already been done within the last 2 weeks at other places. ... and asked what he thought. He then proceeded to do nearly every test that had already been done.... and guess what ? He didn't know what it was. I could understand THIS... since had been hard for the other vets, too. But what is unforgiveable is that he repeated these same tests and then charged over $500! Terrible practice at a vet clinic that used to be all about the animal! read more

Beach Veterinary currently attends our two dogs , cat and parrot. They are unparalleled in quality of medical treatment as well as customer service. Their physicians are highly experienced and have exceptional client rapport. In the very rare case they are not equipped to manage a case they are quick to let you know and have a world class network of specialists for referrals. Not once but twice the group literally save the life of one of our dogs - once from a viscous attack from another dog and second a spot on diagnosis involving a pancreatic infection. We take our two pups to Dr Kafer and just love the care they are given! Staff is friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend!

I would never recommend Beach Veterinary Clinic to anyone! My experience there was awful. We moved to the area recently and I needed to find a new doctor closer to my home. I was used to going to a doctor who specialized in cats only but unfortunately, she is an hour and a half away from me now and my cat was having an upper respiratory issue. I tried one vet near my house and he gave my cat an antibiotic and in 10 days I needed to follow up. The vet and staff were very nice there but I felt they were more of a dog practice, so I wanted to look for another vet especially because my cat is getting older and we may have more frequent visits. I made an appt with Beach Veterinary Clinic at 2:15 on a Tues. When I got there, I waited an hour and ten minutes. There were only 2 people waiting there besides me. After that they put me in a room where I waited for an additional half hour. It was ridiculous. I should have left then! Red flags for sure! Finally, when Dr. Katie Smith came in, I asked her if there had been a problem or something. She said no, normal day. She wanted one of the girls there to order my cats records from my old doctor, but I told her in all honesty I was not sure that this place was for us. I had my own file of records to show her. Turns out she knew my cat doctor in Tampa and they were friends, so she would call her and this way I would not need to get a whole lot of extra tests. Well I thought that was nice of her so now I figured this place might be ok. I told her that we had just been on an antibiotic for 10 days and he was still congested. She suggested another round of antibiotics and another med for cat herpes, that could possibly be the problem, but the drug was very expensive. Normally, I get my prescriptions filled online if it is an expensive one. They told me at the desk if I ordered the meds with them before I left it should come in about 2 days. This office visit was free because it was my first visit so I decided although this is very expensive I will buy it from them. As soon as I got home I realized I forgot to ask the vet an important question, so I called the office immediately. It was about 4:30pm. The receptionist told me the doctor would be leaving soon but she would give her the message. I asked her to please ask the vet to call me before she leaves for the day because it was very important. She never called me back. Wednesday, she had the day off. No call. Thursday the meds still had not arrived, and my cat was not doing well at all. He could hardly breathe at all! The markup on these drugs at Beach were amazing too. One drug they ordered for me was $195.00! I could have gotten this same drug for $70. and it would have arrived in 2 days! Then the antibiotic she ordered for me was $62. and I could have gotten this one for $30. The doctor finally called me back on Thurs. at 5:30 pm. I was so mad. I said "why didn't you call me sooner?". "A 48 hour call back when my cat was in such bad shape now?"She agreed my cat was in bad shape when she first met him! Did she even really care then? I stopped in Friday afternoon and the drugs were still not there I spoke with the office manager and told him my bad experience so far. He told me the drugs would be ready soon. Now, Dr. Smith comes out and tells me I should not use these drugs unless I get a blood test and a CBC. Ok, so why did I wait 3 days? She told me to come back the next day at 8:30am on Saturday. They took the blood test and a CBC. I got such mixed messages from this doctor.. she said if I give my cat more antibiotics it may affect his white blood cells but then again she said you can never go wrong with more antibiotics . Whaaat? I don't get it. Also, according to my records, my cat tested negative for herpes.. so why am I getting these drugs? After 3 days of waiting, we didn't need them at all? My bill was adjusted minus the drugs now. Dr. Smith said she would keep the antibiotics at the clinic for me for when I needed them. I said, please just give me the scripts and I will fill them myself when he needs them. I was sure I needed the antibiotic at least! The vet told me she was too busy to write prescriptions today because it takes a lot of time and I would just have to wait till Monday for her to do it for me. Whaaat? (It was 9:00am.!) Dr. Smith told me I was doing all the right things with the humidifier, the Air purifier and nebulizer so I left. That evening my cat was in bad shape. I called the Emergency number on the Beach Veterinary web site. Supposedly, there is a covering doctor that would call you back? I left two messages there. I just wanted the antibiotic I came to the vet for originally! I was sure he needed it! I would gladly over pay the clinic at this point! He needed it now. No one EVER called me back. Obviously, they did not care about us one bit. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone! It was a BIG WASTE OF OUR TIME AND MONEY! read more

Total scammers be very careful when boarding your pets. I had my pets stay their 1 week, it was over 600 dollars. Why? They get you on vaccines giving them on the day you check you pet in (makes no sense its like getting a flu shot and being exposed to the flu the same day it wont work it needs 2 weeks to boost the immune system). Both pets were given all sorts of unneeded shots even double ones they just had a few months before at their annual visit, plus they charge for vet exam as well. I feel totally ripped off by this clinic, avoid them like they plague they should be locked up. read more

We've been going to Beach Vet for 7 yrs now with our Pek-a-Poo, Darla. Met Dr Luke at a Animal Humane Day at DeSoto Nat'l Memorial; we were new to the Gulf Coast area back then and our dog had a very swollen anal gland. Dr Luke took a look at her at the event and said to bring her to Beach Vet the next day, which we did. All went well and he took care of her problem; he was very caring and always took the time to chat with us... never felt rushed! Thus, we were faithful/loyal to going to see him (we live in E Bradenton); was sad to learn last season that he sold his practice and went back 'home'. We've since been seeing Dr Jade Kafer and she is pretty wonderful... easy going --takes time to listen and, of course, shows concern and caring for our (elderly) dog. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly as well:) All good. read more

Stay away! I have brought my dogs here for a long time, the old vet sold the business. This is where the danger begins. I took my dogs there when ever we had issues. The last time I took them was for boarding for a few nights. After reviewing their records they tol me the dogs had to have a flu shot and one had to have the nasal spray for kennel cough. I agreed left my number in case of emergency or if they needed anything. I return to pick up dogs. I was charged for two additional services per dog. I questioned what the charges were for. The said two shots and fecal inspection. I asked why they thought they could just preform services in my dogs because they felt like it and not notify me via cell phone. She walked back to talk to the vet. She came back up to say we never preformed the fecal inspection, we just charged you for it but we did give the shots and would not charge for those. If this was your child how would you feel hearing this from the front desk clerk? I was upset as anyone would be. Stay away, they do not have your best interest or your pets for that matter. These are the vets that give the really good ones a bad name. Find another vet for your pets sake. I live right down the street and will never return. Horrified beyond belief. read more

ok;,our pets have been going here for quit some time , the vets are fantastic and very caring , the front desk and / or office staff, that's another story ,incompetent is only word that comes to mind , this is second time this year we have brought our yorkies in for grooming , vaccinations ect , both times we have caught vaccination errors , (good thing we keep records) this time we brought one in for a grooming ,we received a post card saying he needed only bordetella ,when we arrived they told us he needed several vacinnations, which of course we questioned ,the girl on the computer looked it up and CONFIRMED he only needed bordetella and distemper and they will fix it right away , when we returned, we were handed a bill for several other vaccinations that he had already had this year (at his annual), they were also the same vaccinations/tests that the girl on the computer just stated she had corrected, right in front of us!! , naturally we spoke to the owner (vet) and he credited most of it back, but rather than understand the seriousness that such errors can either make an animal seriously sick or cause death ,he made excuses for his computer system and office staff, I CALL BS (they have our cell and could have called at anytime ), are these animals being over vaccinated for profit or just cause his staff is incompetent ? either way; if any of your pets have been sick or god forbid passed away from vaccination's given here, please review your records just incase it was an error on there part , again we have all our dogs records and this makes the second time we caught this, yet and he still received vaccinations he did not need !!! so disappointed cause we really like this vet but our dogs are like are kids and wont risk there lives read more
