It was a quick and easy process to retrieve my car and they were professional. Thankfully, I had my valid driver's license on me and my current paid-up registration in the glove compartment of the towed car. Taking a chance and parking illegally in Miami Beach is a bad, bad gamble. Your car WILL be towed. Unless you are planning to move your car in less than 10 minutes of illegal parking, you will have it towed for sure. Especially on a Saturday. So, take an Uber or the free trolley. Don't do as I did and park illegally after not finding parking after 20 minutes. Otherwise, you will pay to get the car back (Miami Beach residents get a discount) and also get a ticket from parking enforcement. Both. Beach Towing is just doing its job. I have no complaints about their service at their location. I take away 2 stars for 2 reasons: one, my car was scratched when I picked it up. Second, they don't have a bathroom. I asked someone working there if I could use the bathroom and he said, "The bathroom never works." I can go to the grocery store around the corner but the people working at Beach Towing shouldn't have to. A small issue is the extra $5 they charge (plus an extra $5 from the ATM) that don't show on the receipt. Pocket cash service fee? I don't usually write these reviews, and when I do, they're positive to acknowledge good businesses. Last week, I was eating ns yes I parked my car in wrong place by mistake, and as soon as I saw it being towed, I told the driver, "Pull it out, I'll pay you right here." He said, "Sorry, we used to do it this way, but not anymore. Of course, it's more profitable for them." They made me take public transportation, spend money, withdraw cash, spend even more! And they charged me an approved but disproportionate fee, even though it was agreed upon with the city: $254 for towing, $33 for the City Permit fee, and $150 for an active fee. I still don't know what the last two cover, plus taxes. On top of that, I found a ticket from the City of Miami Beach for $79. So, a total of $516, totally outrageous, and I'm a Miami resident. Besides being rude from the moment I contacted them, they were laughing at me. I was embarrassed when a family arrived with two foreign children, almost crying, and with a rental car, they were sent to the rental car company first. It was a terrible experience. They scare away residents and foreigners who might ever think of returning to Miami Beach. It was utter mistreatment. Predators who shouldn't exist in a beautiful tourist city. I have never experienced the level of rudeness and lack of professionalism the employees at this "business" display. There is misleading signage suggesting that "electronic payments" and "credit card payments" are accepted. However when you attempt to effect payment using one of these methods, you are told "there is an ATM there! We only accept cash!" As far as I know, Florida law REQUIRES that businesses accept at least two forms of payment. They also refer to customers in derogatory terms, in Spanish, perhaps assuming persons do not understand what they are saying, describing persons of African descent as "negretto" and I heard the word "putta " used to describe a female customer who happened to be there at the same time I was. Pricing, seemed to be at the discretion of a Mr Reyes who was on duty at the "customer service" peephole when I was there as there were at least 3 different prices quoted to recover a towed vehicle. They seem to be quick to want to summon the police if you dare question their policies or pricing which gives the impression that they are attempting to bully victims into compliance. I would not wish even someone who hates my guts to have to deal with this unprofessional set of individuals. They do not enhance the image of Miami Beach as a place welcoming to visitors, even those who are neighbors from across the intercoastal. I wanted to start off by saying I am a rental car owner and I was not charged for anything just to be clear, this is not a retaliatory comment. Story time: My guest in the vehicle had the car towed. I sent over the documents that they asked for so they could release to guest and guest went and picked up vehicle, no problem. Today, I get a letter from this company for a Notice of Claim of Lien for this tow which I found strange so I call and explain the situation to the man that answered the phone. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an incident that occurred today Miami Beach, where my vehicle was towed while I was tutoring a child who resides in the building. This was my first day working at this location, and as a dedicated teacher in a Miami Beach School currently off for the summer without pay, this opportunity to tutor in the area is an important source of income for my family. Upon arriving at the location, I parked in what I believed to be a permissible area, as I noted a "60-minute parking" sign and did not exceed the allotted time. Unfortunately, I did not see any signage indicating that the space was a loading zone. When I went to retrieve my vehicle from Beach Towing, I encountered a number of deeply troubling issues. Firstly, I was informed--quite rudely--by the attendant that the total charge would be $421.00. I was told I could not use my debit card because I am not a Miami Beach resident and would need to pay in cash. This restriction, though perhaps outside the City's jurisdiction, feels unreasonable and unnecessarily burdensome. As a result, I was forced to make two separate ATM withdrawals, incurring fees from both the ATM and my banking institution. While at the Beach Towing office, I witnessed the attendant treat an elderly gentleman with great disrespect, raising his voice simply because the man could not hear or understand him. Contrary to posted policy, the gentleman was not offered a pamphlet in Spanish, and he appeared visibly shaken while trying to navigate the payment process. In addition, I questioned the $421.00 charge as others around me were being charged $121.00. When I asked the attendant to explain the discrepancy, he became agitated and dismissive, stating only, "You don't live in the Beach, so you pay more." This reasoning does not appear anywhere on the receipt, nor is any such policy clearly posted at the site. I recorded part of this conversation for documentation purposes. I believe this company may be engaging in unethical business practices by refusing card payments, overcharging non-residents, and failing to provide transparent receipts or adequate customer service. I found a 2012 Internal Audit of Beach Towing conducted by the City of Miami Beach, and based on my experience and similar reports from others online, I believe a follow-up audit is warranted. I video recorded the conversation where the clerk said that I had to pay more for NOT being a MB resident. However that fee is NOT on the receipt. I pray for anyone that has to deal with this company. The manager Michael Festa was not there to assist. The young, rude and inexperienced man child who atttended me needs to be fired. Paid for our parking and they had it towed before we could get back within the allotted amount of time. Even enterprise is aware of these scammers. Once the vehicle was in their possession, the only way to get it back was to either pay the bribe $500 or, have enterprise go directly to them to get it back. Had the unfortunate experience of interacting with this company a few days ago. They charged us $420 to tow the car less than 2 miles. They also don't take card because their card reader is conveniently broken (based on other reviews here they seem to break that thing a lot). Luckily, they own an ATM on the premises they will let you use to get enough cash out! In all seriousness, it seems like they are legally required to accept cash payments based on the sign they are forced to display on their wall. They have a broken card reader, but they're waiting for the new one to come in! I'm sure it'll get there any day now since people have been complaining about this for months in these reviews. ABSOLUTELY terrible! I should've known they were remedial when they can't even spell DEBIT card! I parked in a spot that I thought was legit, & even displayed my handicap placard in the window. I had knee surgery and this was the closest spot to the hotel in which we were staying.
