Booked this tour very spontaneously last year, it was a quiet day in clearwater so we got to go out with a tour guide and just our own party. I have to say it was the most fun 90 minutes of our lives. Our tour guide was super chill, allowed us to get aclomated to the skis as it was our first time and once we got the hang of things he let us let lose, it was incredible. We chose these guys. I was kinda worried cuz they didn't have many reviews but they turned out to be great. Super chill guys. The jet skis were pretty good shape. A few of them has some wear and tear on them but nothing that hurt the experience. Once we got out of the no wake zone we went full throttle the whole way. The faster the better. The leader guy even took us over a few boat wakes so we could get some air. It was fun. I'll recommend these guys. I called another place up north of the traffic circle but he didn't take online reservations and only took cash. And Fr I could barely understand him on the phone so I just passed. I wish I could give zero stars, but this will have to suffice...Carli was completely unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude. She pushed our reservation back, and was unclear about how/when/where to take the boating test. When trying to resolve the issue she created with her miscommunication, she became aggressive to our children and refused to allow us to take the test. Her solution was to go at dusk (during shark feeding hours) or the next day, despite the fact we informed her it was our last day on the beach. In summary, she was aggressively unprofessional, doesn't care about the brand she represents, and made 14 people spend their last day on the beach waiting on a jet ski trip that would never happen. read more

Went to this place to try jet skiing for the first time with the wife on her birthday. The staff were rude, belligerent, and unhelpful when we struggled with the jet skis. Training was insufficient, and we were yelled at by the guide for an hour. Paid for 1.5 hours of time, but the guide quit the tour after an hour. Refused to give us a full refund after explaining the negative experience and called us rude and ignorant. Instead, the guy running the front desk kept sneaking out to smoke whenever he got a chance. I'd give this place 5 stars if the checkin process was smoother/quicker. When we got there we signed in and then had to watch a 10 minute video about being responsible for the jet ski which could have been summed up and stated in a minute by the workers. We got off to a late start because of all the people that needed to watch. Once we were out on the Waverunner we had an awesome time. Our guide Mike made sure we had a great ride, showed us a little island, and we saw tons of dolphins. Overall, would do this again, just wish the pre-ride stuff was more organized and quicker. read more

I have never been on a waverunner and really wanted to try this out. I scheduled to go out at 1100 on Saturday and the two guys there were fantastic. I was super nervous but those two guys were awesome. They were both very detailed in going over the equipment and making sure I felt comfortable. I ended up getting to do the tour alone...yay for me. I didn't do any island hopping and my guide did stop to ask. I just wanted to cruise around and I'm glad I did. We saw a family of dolphins and covered some ground on the water craft. This was worth every penny. I am so glad I stopped Nick the evening before and asked questions. I highly recommend doing this tour and skipping the islands. Unless you just really want to see more sand. Take the long ride and have some fun. read more

It was an amazing early December morning last week, and then it turned into a memorable day in the bay and the ocean on the Wave Runner. Although my wife was apprehensive about going out on the water, Mike and Chris made us feel very comfortable. Mike led the way on another wave runner, took us out slowly, then led us around Tampa Bay. We came close to a few dolphins frolicking very very close to us. He helped take some memorable photos, then led us out to the gulf of Mexico into the ocean, and returned us back before our time was up. Wish we weren't flying out the same day. They were very good on the phone, then in person during registration and orientation and then the excursion on the water. We will definitely recommend this company. read more

I never really take the time to write a bad review but for Captain Jack I figured I'd warn the rest of you... Me and my family took a family vacation to Clearwater where I found Clearwater Jet ski Tours. We rented a total of 5 jet skis. My sister and cousin had an accident with two the vehicles. My sister was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated for injuries. Long story short, Captain Jack gave us all several different quotes for the damage and how much it would cost. He even held the funds of the Jet ski riders who were hit. They didn't even get to enjoy the jet ski experience. He wouldn't refund them as he states he could only give time credit. They were traumatized after that experience and will never want to ride a jet ski again. The least he could have done was refund the riders that were hit as they did not orchestrate the damage. That was a separate case he needed to deal with in regards to the driver who actually caused the damage. I found Captain Jack to be a "shady" businessman as I requested him to send me proof that riders sign a waiver stating that there are NO REFUNDS what so ever... he never sent me proof of that. I also asked him to escalate the request for a refund to the party that was hit to his "owner" or boss. He stated that he would do that and again, he failed to deliver. When the young lady who caused the damage to the Jet ski decided she wanted to get a lawyer, Captain Jack called me upset. He displayed an ugly attitude that was uncalled for. I am giving Clearwater Jet ski Tours 1 STAR in response to the "shady" business that Captain Jack displayed. The guy that took us out on the water was great, the jet skis were nice and clean and the experience could have been perfect. Accidents happen and I truly believe the way Captain Jack handled the accident was beyond unprofessional, inconsiderate and unethical. Here is a family with an injured member being rushed to the hospital and he is pulling individuals to the side discussing payments that he need to cover damages. He had everyone's contact info. I think that this was something he could have waited to discuss once the fear and concern for my sister has been dwelt with. read more

As a first time visitor to Clearwater, a few establishments were ruining my trip to Florida with their inattentiveness, impoliteness, and impatience. These guys... The polar opposites. The guys name was Matt, and right off the bat on the phone he was the nicest establishment we'd called to inquire about jet ski rentals. The price was also the cheapest and we were able to get in that day. Most places were booked 3 weeks in advance! Matt was so patient and detailed with explanation we felt so appreciated. I appreciate him and his partner Rob, our jet ski tour guide, not just as a business but DECENT PEOPLE! They know their stuff and they're not there to rip you off, but to help you have a great time and hats what they did. Hands down a worth it experience. We rented jet skis from another location the day before coming here. If we had more time we would have came back to this location again. I would come to Clearwater again just to take the 2 hour tour another time. This was a fantastic tour that caters to experienced riders as well as inexperienced. The tour was well worth the money. They do not allow you an option of driving around freely with the jet ski that you are paying a sizable sum to rent. Instead they offer jet ski "guided tours" where you are required to follow a guide on a pre set course. Many of the local jet ski businesses are under the same ownership but have different names and have the same office answering all calls. We did however find a jet ski place on the other aide of the Causeway right next to one of the large hotels there that allows you to rent jet skis and go anywhere you want with them, except in zones that are not safe. read more

Everyone but me had been on jet skis before and I fell really behind everyone else cuz I was really scared! But the new instructor( it was only his second day) was tagging along with our main instructor to learn the routes and he stuck with me the entire time! I was so nervous but he took the time to teach me how going faster helps control it better and even though we completely fell behind he didn't make me feel like I was annoying and by the end I was not so scared and was having a blast! Wouldn't recommend this place for beginner riders. Me & girlfriend are from NY and don't get the chance to ride Jetski's. The instructor was not attentive to the riders. We thought he would be nice and attend to us first timers. He kept speeding off and leaving us behind. If you rode jetskis before then you know there is no way you can learn how to ride 15 min into your trip. I was last behind , everyone was not really getting the hang of it, until almost a hour in. The instructor sped off between the 2 islands and didn't even check back to see if I was okay. The other riders we're literally out of my view. I was scared as hell, by that time I just wanted to ride back. He literally said "IM NOT DOING THIS SH*T" , "You guys aren't keeping up, we're suppose to do 48 miles and we only did 6 miles".... that right there was the end for me! Like cmon wth for the 1st time how could you be doing 48 miles on water with jetskis. I was panicking because dude kept speeding off. We seen dolphins that was cool but majority of the people we're rookies except 1 kid. That kid said he rode with his older brother before. Another girl was panicking I was behind her so I'm telling her to calm down and take her time as she was yelling "I can't do this" I started to encourage her but that isnt even my job. I can promise you everyone was riding out of fear to get back already. He just didn't make us feel safe. My girl & I are trying to decide if we'll ever do it again period. I'm still shaken from that experience. Then they tried and charge extra if you get stuck in the sandbar but yet he's speeding. I feel the instructor didn't care he wants you to go off course & mess up the rental so they can over charge you. He told my girl we have to charge a extra $150 because she went into the sand bar but yet he continued to let her ride for a hour. She got stuck within the 1st 12 minutes. If the jetski was damaged why did you let her continue. Crooks mann! But hey they gotta get they hustle if you let them. Im From NY so that wasn't going down. Also we never even agreed to the 1 hr & 30 min tour. We wanted the 1 hr tour. They never asked us that neither. Just said "yup you guys are next & we realized once we rode & also that it jumped from $90 to $140 each. Would not go there again. Had a fabulous time!! Josh was our guide. He was patient with us, since we had not been on a wave runner before. The instructions were clear and really helpful. An hour was plenty of time to get out into the water and ride around. It is tougher to navigate than you might think! Josh kept a close eye to make sure we didn't get into trouble. Completely unprofessional! After making reservations days beforehand and spending money for a temporary certification. We arrived early for my uncle's birthday celebration. Waiting patiently and disregarded for over 30 minutes. We were spoken to and told "don't worry, we'll get you out there on the water". Then we we had to give out credit cards to be held and then given multiple documents to sign, which were the last steps to getting on the jetskis. After we helped and instructed the guy where the iPad he was looking for was in his workspace, he then told us that we would "have to sacrifice". This meaning that one of us, who paid, would not have the chance or opportunity to ride a jet ski that we made reservations for ahead of time and studied and paid for a temporary boaters certification for. Then upon asking why we had to "sacrifice", the guy at the counter said we were locals and apparently not a priority as the random tourists who were not even making reservations. He started that we "could always come back and ride". This is unacceptable and unprofessional on the entire business, since reservations were made and we were specifically there for my uncle's birthday, which they knew. I don't understand how you could tell your customers to "sacrifice" something they paid money for. It's clearly on the business for being unorganized and not taking notice on their own inventory per reservation. I would never come back, and I also completely advise nobody in the future to use this company. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else. read more

The instructor sucked he was so rude and inconsiderate. First of all we explained to him EVERYONE was beginners and never rode a jet ski before yet he continued to fly off so far into the water we couldn't even see him any more. You would think he would slowed down or stop to let us catch up. Secondly they keep on mentioning "don't go near the sand bars" I'm from NY a sand bar to us is a small island surrounded by water. Apparently a sand bar in Florida is the edges of any body of land. So he tried charging me $150 extra at the end of the tour for going near one after 2 others did the same thing. Lastly what turnt me off was his exact words "if you guys keep doing this shit I'm not going no where" meaning 1 female asked if he was taking us to the island we paid to go see but his obnoxious self could not handle the fact we all drive slower then him. Went with my boyfriend and niece for Fouth of July week and we had an awesome time. From the guy who took our money, to Brandon who took us out(1-1/2 hr), all the way to the woman pulled us in everyone was so nice. Brandon took the time to show us where we were going on the map, gave us water, and even secured my phone for me so I could take it with me. I have never ridden on a jet ski but they gave us the 'Cadillac' and the instructions were easy to follow. We went out sea shell hunting and had friendly convo and laughs. Unfortunately our key was no longer there when we returned but Brandon was cool and had it under control, he even let me store a lot of my sea shells in his face mask on the way back! We saw dolphins and sea turtles and even learned a lil thing or two. I would recommend this to everyone and I can't wait to go there again!
