We were excited to discover that the hotel is just a short walk away from one of our favorite beaches, Upham beach, which made the trip even more special. The property had a fun South Beach feel with plenty of seating to socialize, a cute pool with bright flamingo floats, a hot tub, and a great outdoor pool bar. Natalia was a great bartender, she was friendly and gave the most awesome recommendations off the menu. She did not miss a beat! Randy was a fantastic host. He was in communication via text as soon as the room was ready and greeted us immediately as we arrived on the property which does not require you to check in as they send you your room number and code to get in. In the room they also leave all important information including your parking pass and two complimentary drink tickets for a convenient arrival no matter what time you get in. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a king bed, updated bathroom, big-screen TV, and a convenient kitchenette. There were complimentary mimosas in the lobby each morning. They even have a wonderful restaurant on the 2nd floor, 82 Degrees, where we enjoyed most of our meals for the weekend.

Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

We went to the Society Table a couple of times and also would get gelato at the ice cream place at the resort. The rooms are not huge and there is not a lot drawer space. The service in this hotel is very good overall. The pools and the beach are superb. We chose this resort as a special anniversary vacation, and this is part of the lower review. We ultimately felt the hotel discount promotion and phone sales was misleading. Ambiguous communication led us to believe we would receive a free night, however we later realized and were told that the discount was already built in to our price, although no sign of discount was found anywhere on our invoice. I'm self employed and I've managed business for 35 years, and I've not seen discounts that don't show on an invoice. Se beware of promotional discount offers as it may not be what you expect, and you'll be left with no way to disprove the phantom discount because it's not on your invoice, apparently is just spoken. Overall service was very good. We had a minor blip in the maritana, which was the wrong dessert brought to us, and presented as "happy anniversary" with a chocolate that said that, but was strangely charged to us. The waitress handled it like a pro. I would advise the chef to either ignore birthdays and anniversaries and that sort of thing, or offer a small free dessert. But definitely don't bring out a "happy anniversary" dessert then charge for it. Also had overcooked hard poached eggs at the society table - no big deal just no runny yolk. If not for the price, who cares? But with such a great menu and fantastic chef, they should get eggs right. No discount offered. But I ate it so... All of our food was great, and really well developed and complete dishes as if it were Michelin rated. Cheers to the chef. Just two very minor fails. Overall it was a nice stay but we won't go back mainly because ultimately they didn't step up over a $600ish discrepancy over a 5 night stay. Look at my reviews. It's very rare I don't write 5 stars. I'm not one of those people that gives a bunch of bad reviews. The highlight of this resort is the beach, the pools, and the menu. Service is good overall. So definitely some good.

I was glad to snag a room at an extremely reasonable rate on a Saturday night. I was skeptical because I'm afraid of rat holes and after reading up on reviews anywhere I could find them, I decided to give it a shot. It's in a great location, directly next to the Undertow and just a couple of blocks from Smileys Snack Shack, what else do you need? The room is dated, the bathroom is tiny, but it has a kitchenette with 2 burner stove and a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, plates glasses, silverware.... Anything you might need for a long weekend or longer stay. And it's CLEAN! The pool is small, but it's nice, there's a covered pavilion there as well if you want to stay out of the sun and overlooks the beach and ocean. That's all you need! Only one car per room. If you have more than one car for your room, offsite parking is a nightmare, but it can be done. I only spent one night, but I would consider returning. I just wish they'd do something about those curtains!

That's about it for the positives. It is a VERY dated hotel so if you like fresh and new, look at the 2014-opened Hotel Zamora a hundred yards down Gulf Blvd, however it is not beachfront, so that's its huge problem. The rooms here you can tell have seen some better years with patches and paint easily spotted on the walls. The appliances in the kitchenette are very old but perfectly functional if you want to enjoy a week on the beach without the expense of going to restaurants for every meal. If you're wanting to catch a football game on TV, better to visit a bar because the rooms still have old school tube televisions. The front desk is not staffed 24x7, so there are restrictions on check in and check out times to keep in mind. My only real complaint about this place is security. The room I stayed in had broken locks on at least two of the windows making it impossible to lock them. The door locks still use traditional keys, so who knows if someone has copied yours in the past. The rooms on the south side of the property (not sure about the north side) have a sidewalk area and second door on that back side exiting from the bedroom; it would be easy for someone to break into the room from that site without it being very obvious. So if you have some true valuables, you probably won't feel comfortable leaving them in the room. I'm not sure if the front desk has some more secure method of storing items for guests.

We immediately reported it to the front desk, who told us they could not access the valet cameras and that we would need to contact corporate, but would not provide us with any information on how to do so. My fiancé was at work, so I contacted law enforcement. This remains under investigation, so I will not speculate publicly about who is responsible. This review is about how The Hotel Zamora and its management handled us during our stay and after we left. Because my fiancé was working, I communicated with the assistant manager, David Engler, on my fiancé's behalf. I spent hours asking David for basic communication, updates, and assistance, only to receive dismissive responses and an attitude rather than empathy or urgency. During our interactions, David repeatedly rolled his eyes and visibly clenched his fists while I was speaking. Other staff witnessed these interactions. When David would return to his office, other employees apologized to me for how the situation was being handled and offered things such as complimentary drink cards. Once my fiancé was physically present, David's demeanor noticeably changed. I should not have to have my fiancé standing beside me before I am treated with basic respect and professionalism. The missing Mac mini was my fiancé's primary work computer. The entire reason for our stay was his business trip, and its loss has continued to affect his work. Despite this, we experienced very little urgency or concern from management. The surveillance footage was important to the ongoing investigation, yet we spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to obtain updates. We asked whether the hotel could accommodate another night so we could remain available while the investigation continued. Instead, we were told we could simply pay for another night ourselves at a discounted rate, then told we'd have to pay at full rate, and then told by the assistant manager that we would "confront people." This was comical. At no point did either of us say that we intended to confront anyone. We are both working professionals who were trying to handle an incredibly frustrating situation while continuing to meet our professional obligations. We explained that we live hours away and wanted to remain reachable in case the property was recovered so we would not have to make multiple trips back to the area. The last excuse we were told was that the hotel could not accommodate us because they were nearly booked for the weekend. We attempted to contact the General Manager, Shannan May, multiple times by phone and email. We did not receive a response from her during our stay. The assistant manager acknowledged that he was aware we had been attempting to reach Shannan, yet she still did not contact us directly. For a situation this serious, we found it extremely disappointing that the General Manager did not extend the basic courtesy of personally reaching out to the guests involved. After we had already checked out, Shannan eventually emailed us stating that we could have dinner on them, our resort and parking fees would be waived and that the booking agency would be contacted regarding compensation. We have still received no meaningful resolution or direct follow-up from management. The hotel cannot control every incident that happens to a guest. It absolutely does control how it responds. We expected communication, empathy, cooperation, and management that actually took the situation seriously. Instead, we felt dismissed, unsupported, and blamed for being upset about what happened. The investigation remains ongoing. Regardless of its outcome, our experience with the hotel's management was unacceptable. I have never left a review anywhere before. This experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to leave one. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.
