The cruise narrator knew tons of intricate details about the history and places we passed, especially about Cumberland Island. He explained the history of the horses on the island: their origin, breeding and band habits. He gave lots of detail about the Carnegie's and the incredible mansions on the island. He also answered lots of questions from the cruise participants. He was engaging making jokes and quips throughout the cruise. Clearly he has not just done this many times, but has studied and visited the area's history.

We boarded at 6:15, and were promptly on our way at 6:30. It was a very fun guided tour that taught us a lot about the area's history. We didn't see the wild horses, but we did see dolphins!! And, of course, we saw the most beautiful sunset! I am very glad we got to do this tour since they allowed our pup, and the experience was one of our favorite of the trip.

The boat was clean and the people at the office were very professional. The crew for the boat were nice and knowledgeable. The Captain was very experienced and knew the route and we never had any issues with standing to get better views. The views were great, the Sahara dust storm made the sunset even more vibrant. I called up around 10 AM and spoke with the owner Ben, who was very nice. He had instructed that we book an appointment online, and also complete the temporary boat license course. So we went online to do that. BUT JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION - to complete the course, you need to go on https://www.saltysunsports.com - press the hamburger icon - Florida boating certificate - scroll down till you see How much does it cost to get my Florida Temporary Boating Certificate? - click exam-only option (it'll save you some time of scrolling back and forth on page). The quiz itself is pretty common sense, and 25 questions. You'll need to make sure you receive a copy of your certificate sent to your email before you can ride the jet skis too. While doing this, the weather outside was starting to turn on us, so I called Ben back to let him know we'd likely be 15 minutes, and I found him to be pretty flexible and may I mention cautious about our safety! So we waited a little bit, and when the storm passed, we finally had our chance to hop on our jet skis, and they were AWESOME - believe most of them go to 55 mph, and with the weather being overcast, it was actually perfect as it wasn't too hot outside. Overall, the price in total for everything (with tax and course) was $162), but we certainly got our hour worth, and this is cheaper than other spots I've personally been too (not in Jax). We certainly would be glad to do rentals here again in the future!

There is a restaurant that is on the water that from word of mouth is very good (maybe on our next adventure out there we will try). If your just looking for a nice breeze to catch while watching boats come in and out this is a great place. If you are fishing or crabbing make sure to check the tides. Incoming tides are always a better tide to try to catch some dinner.

I'm not sure yet of the work this company does, but Randy (I presume the owner) is not an easy or…read moregood person to work with, if you are a customer. The Marina I work with to maintain our boat referred me to Wilson Trailer and Repair and I should have known from the first phone call with Randy, working with them was going to be an issue. He recommended a lot of things we were not anticipating, when we had brought the trailer in for a new bow catcher and to check the tires for slow leaks. I listened to his recommendations, which he sounded out that he had to explain ("I've been in business for 30 years ......) and simply asked for an estimate for the cost of the repairs. Originally, the Marina was going to pay the bill and we were going to pay the Marina, so he got with them and I never heard back from either of them, which was my mistake. Then I get a text on Tuesday morning, from Randy asking that I give him a call. I called him two hours later before noon only to be met with the same rude attitude I had gotten weeks before when I spoke to him. When I asked for a copy of the bill, he said he would send it to me once I paid it. I said, I like to have a copy before hand so I could review it considering I never received an estimate in advance of the work being done. Randy got irritated with that request and he started yelling at me saying he'd send it over but he's been in business for 30 years and he's been trying to get me to pay this bill (for 2 hrs), that I needed to pay it, and then he rudely hung up on me. Once I reviewed the bill, for work I never authorized but I suspect and hope I needed, I called Randy up and kindly paid the bill. Life is too short to deal with people who are rude. I don't care how long they have been in business, it doesn't give them the right to treat anyone, much less a customer, like a second class citizen.
