He used crow bar to slide very heavy grate over, poked slush of leaves & murky water, and determined how to proceed. He used Shop Vac to suck up water while poking leaf debris away from vacuum, shoveled out leaves (about 5 vacuums full) dumped where I asked him to nearest to grate. Put cover back on. All in less than 45 minutes. Received this bill: Plumbing Diagnostic $218. + Difficult to Access fee $73. + Trip fee $89. + $380. + Taxes 31.16 = $411.16. *****WAY OVER-PRICED FOR THIS JOB***** Difficult to Access fee was for having to get on his knees & manually shovel out the debris as explained to me by Eric. We then waited over 50 days. The parts were still on order. We met with Seth, who was very nice. He loaned us a moveable air conditioner, added to the ones we borrowed from family. This helped during the 90 degree days. On 7/7 Chuck and another man came to fix our units. They discovered that they had one correct part and had to go back to get the correct parts for the second unit. They were scheduled to be here at 8:00 a.m. They were here from 10 a.m. until 5:15 - the job was complete. Our only complaint is that it took so long to get the parts. Our toilet became clogged because of an unfortunate chain of events. During the middle of the…read morenight, I accidentally dropped a small jar of Vicks into the toilet bowl while the toilet was flushing. Stress and annoyance at my mishap consumed me. And my husband added to my stress when he referred to my mishap as stupid. The first place I called (All Star Plumbing) was terrible. The serviceman left a brochure for a two year maintenance plan on my counter first thing as he was trained to do before he even looked at the job. What? Best and only option offered: He told me the object was most likely in the drain beyond the house because the toilet flushed. It would cost about $1,000. to use an auger in the drain and go 50-75 feet from my house to the road. I said I wanted another opinion. I gave him a check for $90. which was the fee for a house call/inspection I was told about when I made the appointment. I was told the fee included an inspection, but I declined. My SIL recommended Clough. I left a message and received a prompt reply setting up a service call for the next day. The serviceman Pete solved my problem in about 90 minutes. He explained what he would do. He removed the toilet from its seal. He searched for and found the jar within the curved part of the actual toilet, removed it, and reset the toilet. He left my bathroom as clean as he found it. He was friendly, professional, experienced, and competent. The owner trained him well which was beneficial to me and to the reputation of the family owned company. It was a marked contrast to my experience the day before. I tipped him and attached a short note of praise to my check. I received a bill at the end of the month which was for a lesser amount than I imagined it would be. Great value for a satisfactory resolution to my plumbing problem. I recommend this family owned and operated company highly!
