Last evening, we attended the Spanish Wine Tasting with Tapas and had a fantastic time learning directly from the winemaker/owner from Spain and served delicious authentic tapas from a food truck vendor, Boca'o. A fantastic mixed group with some beginners to experienced wine lovers. I also appreciate the small size of the room for about 20 people so felt like an intimidate gathering. For the price and experience, what a value. After the tasting, opportunities to buy the wines and have it autographed from the winemaker. Having been introduced to Mikkeller while in Denmark & Iceland, I've never forgotten this great beer company. Their innovative beer stays on the palate. I think more of Vancouver needs to broaden their horizons and let these masters of beer in. So, thank you Brewery Creek for carrying some innovative products.

I will note that I am a woman of colour, and my white male partner was treated far differently with more respect from the staff. I'm a neighbourhood local and have been a regular for years. I tried it at the Hopscotch Festival, it was deliciousness personified and I desperately want to spread it through my family. Unfortunately, it also seems like something that is difficult to find (not a huge demand yet). It was here, in a 6-pack or a case. And they have a 4-pack of Somersby's Blackberry cider! It's like a little liquor heaven! But really, product blah blah blah. I'm going to recommend you go to this place because of the amazing service I received. The clerk actually said "hello" cheerfully when I walked in. I KNOW. Outside of Japanese restaurants, a cheerful "hello" seems to be dying out. Not only that but when I asked her about the Taiwan Beer (I wish I knew her name; she didn't have a tag on), she was pure helpfulness. When I decided on the case (I mentioned that I want to infect my family with its deliciousness, right?), she picked up the case for me and brought it to the counter. I've NEVER had a clerk do that for me. They're usually standing there, watching me fumble clumsily with it, juggling everything plus my purse. The transaction itself was quick and friendly and then she carried the case to my car. I had added a tip to the cup but at that point, I wish I had added much more. Liquor stores are a dime a dozen; good service is worth its weight in gold. Definitely recommend.
