He was on a ventilator for a time and we were dealing with his health insurance, finding medications that helped and sorting the ones that didn't, we weren't really thinking about bills. Our concern was getting him through this crisis. When I called to explain the situation, all anyone would say was, "We can only speak with the card holder. We can only speak with the card holder." He's on a ventilator. Talking is impossible right now. I even tried to pay his bill. Now come on! I'm trying to GIVE you money and all you can say to me is that you need to speak with the card holder? I finally got a friend to impersonate him so I could JUST PAY THE BILL!! Now that my partner is out of the hospital and on the mend at home, he called to see if they could work with him on a repayment plan. He has been out of work for 5 months now so it's not like he's got a pile of money. Heck he's got a hospital bill of more than half a million dollars! You think these people would even work with him on creating a repayment plan? No. Not at all. Warning to you all out there- never get an account here and never get a credit card with a CITIBANK logo. Hardship means nothing to these vultures.

They have been holding our money hostage for 3 weeks now, and will not help us, despite giving them every piece of identification they have on us. They claim to have mailed us a letter to our correct address to help them identify us, and since we didn't get it, I was told today that they can no longer help us. How can they no longer help us? I was also told by a supervisor on 3/11 that if I go into a branch with every form of ID we have, we can still not get our money, they will not help us, and they won't say why. We have filed a complaint through the CFPB with no response, and are now seeking legal counsel. I have worked in banking for many years, and maintain close relationships with managers in financial institutions, no one has heard of this response. Take your money elsewhere. DO NOT TRUST THIS INSTITUTION!

IMMEDIATELY felt the racially profiling by Ms. Hafya Chahin. If she reads this she'll know EXACTLY who I am. I am African and do not appreciate the immediate assumption. It's rude and WRONG. Whispering by other bankers about me. Ms. Hafya Chahin telling them not to help me with my check. And what's crazy is she's not even a manager! Just inserted herself for no reason and then couldn't even answer my questions as to why she was inserting herself when this transaction doesn't even involve her. Even the banker helping me was confused. They ended up doing what I needed but with high tension and weirdness I felt in that bank, I took my check and opened an account at another bank that was SO welcoming and helpful right down the street! Unfortunately, they lost out on a multi million dollar client as my parents own one of the largest pharmacies in Africa. Ah oh well, I guess don't assume and you wouldn't lose clients like this for racially profiling. I should've listened to the horrible reviews. What's worse is that I was a business banker at Chase, so I know the exact procedures and they were rude, condescending, untrustworthy, and racist.

I was a personal banker with Chase in one of their Sugar Land branches. When I had to leave Chase due to health reasons, I looked for ways to save on fees. Online or virtual banks seemed like the right fit for me. I had seen this Charles Schwab location and walk in one day. I was told that the office was mainly for investment accounts but they did handle some aspects of retail banking here. Upon further discussion, the banker explained that I could open a brokerage account with $0.00. There was no obligation on my part to trade. I could open two interest bearing retail accounts, one checking and one savings. Opening deposit required; you guessed it, $0.00! I proceeded to open the three accounts after learning that my debit card would not incur any ATM fees. Any ATM around the world. Schwab Bank will credit ATM fees in a monthly settlement. Believe me I have withdrawn GBP in London and Euros in Paris as well as Rupees in Mumbai and Rajula, India. Bill pay is free of course. The bank will mail you free check books, deposit slips, prepaid mailing envelops and preprinted return address labels in case you use your own envelop. Sorry, no free USPS stamps. The bank has a toll free number that is answered by a human banker available 24 hours a day. I transferred my money from Chase and started real free banking.
