I would gave them a 2 star for yesterday's experience. First, the place was empty on a Friday night at 10:00pm. Probably have 3 takeout order while we were sitting down. The first time I went was on a weekday night back in December, and there were more patrons. Not sure if the place is going down hill, but they dont have slushies anymore. We had the mango slushies the first time, and the only drinks available was whatever bottle drinks they have in the fridge. Mind you, they dont serve you water, so you have to get drinks since the food is garlicky or spicy. We wound up getting the milk tea ice rice this time. It was ok. I never tried it, but the rice is a bit hard. I won't order again. Best dish is large eggplant. Very flavorable, maybe a bit too garlicky. Will order this again. Also, the chicken wing is huge, for the price of $3 each. Thats why we ordered 2 chicken wing this time. But, I think it wasnt grilled as nice as my first time. Still good since it is a lot of meat for the price of $3. Lotus root is also pretty good, glazed with sugar. The worst i would say is the lamb, a bit too chewy, lack of flavor. The bathroom has all sorts of postcard of famous album. I found that pretty neat. Lastly, I think the squid tentacles is much smaller than before.

It was so cold out the night I went so I was very happy they kept it nice and warm inside the restaurant. There's a very large selection of skewers, they have basically everything you could want. I especially appreciate that you can order just one of any skewer, unlike some other places where certain types only come in orders of 3 etc, allowing you to order a large variety even if you're dining alone. The seasoning was delicious, and every skewer was not coated in identical seasoning. None of it was spicy at all if that's what you're looking for, but none were lacking in flavor. The meat was juicy and you could taste the smoke from the grill. I loved the different textures of vegetables which were all well cooked. I'm still thinking about the crunchy exterior of the rice cake. I think my favorite skewer was the lotus root, which was perfecting complimented by the seasoning mix. An amazing meal! 16 skewers came out to less than $50. I look forward to returning!

I can't believe I've never written a review (maybe because I wrote one for Studio Square and in some way, I am still very much grieving its shuttering after all these years), but it's a solid spot and has carried on Studio Square's legacy. I've come here for various outings over the years and the casual, counter-style setting always works out perfectly for those big group settings. If you're from the South, obviously don't expect the bbq to be mind-blowing - it's simply a chill place where you can get fat and drink and not feel too bad about spending a lot of money and vibe at the same time. It's a great place to watch sports, too. I've pretty much tried every side and meat they have to offer and the brisket always wins (pulled pork is a close second, though way too saucy for my liking). I've never been too crazy about any of their sides, though their potato salad is nice, at times. Great drink selection and pricing - they have a nice seltzer selection and reasonably-priced beer and cocktails.

There was a lot of energy in the place. The wait staff were friendly. Food was great but was pricey per skewer. Food 5/5: Delicious and tasted close to skewer cart (this is a win!). Would have loved to try more things but some skewers were up to $3 each so it got pricey fast. They did have a large selection of skewers to choose from. You get a wrist band with a QR code that tracks what skewers you order. Non-skewer items could be ordered using your phone. Everything was fresh. They had house-made spice and sauce packets at each table. Every table had a cheat sheet showing how long to barbecue each type of skewer. We tried the bbq scallops which were full of garlicky goodness and cold noodles which was a refreshing balance to the heat of the grill. Service 5/5: Friendly waiter. Gave us the run down on how things worked in the restaurant. Periodically checked in on us. No complaints. Ambiance 4/5: Prefacing that the high energy environment was not really my cup of tea but I know others may prefer it. Bright flashing lights and loud music playing over speakers drowned out conversation. That said, the tables were spaced well so every party had their own personal space and restaurant was clean.

Ordered by scanning the qr code and checking off different items from you phone for them to bring the items to your table. Beef, shrimp, chicken, lamb and various seafood to cook on skewers that rotate on the table grill. Price ranges around 2 to 5$ per stick of meat. They didn't have okra and some items were out of stock when I went.

While waiting I checked out the restroom and found it unpleasant. Thinking I'd have my food ready by the time I returned and no drinks and no food yet. The waiting continues - 4:30 I finally get our drinks; had to send the marg back - I think they forgot the alcohol in it. Still waiting on food; one hour later after being seated - still waiting on food. I mean if this is how Dallas BBQ wants to present themselves there's certainly much room for improvement. Food quality was great, my steak was cooked to order; shrimp and ribs were hot and delicious. Just needs some improvement in order taking and getting the drinks out as fast as possible. That would make a huge difference in the experience. Ambiance was fine; it was comfortable and the music was decent elevator noise. Things I'd like to see improved - times between first touch to customer - once you get the drink orders and bring the drinks be ready for the food order. Don't take forever to speak to the customers about their needs. Definitely would be a 3 or 4 stars if service was faster. Maybe we just had a newbie waitress

Who can deliver the most underwhelming plantains and dubious cuts of meat... that are more like a fat delivery system, than part of a main course? It's either that, or both Copacabana and Aroma must have signed a non-compete agreement with their underwhelming offerings. I also get the impression they are trying to broaden their appeal to non-Brazilians. But in their attempt to cater to the broader Latin American palate, they've diluted the vibrancy that Brazilian cuisine is known for. It's like they took a samba dance and turned it into a slow ranchera - it just doesn't have the same energy. Sure, it's a dance, but where's the rhythm, the spirit, the flavor?

My favorite is the Fish Congee, but the Sampan Congee is another favorite of mine. In general, all of the congees are consistently good. As for the roast meats, I think their best item is the Soy Sauce Chicken, which is made well. The rest are decent, but I would rather go to Five Loaves & Two Fishes nearby instead. The stuff I would skip here are items like their Wonton Noodle and Rice Rolls. Both are made poorly and not up to par versus the best around. Anyway, I believe this is not a Cantonese roast meat shop that can deliver everything I want. Regardless, I rarely drive by without stopping in to pick up some congee and possibly half a Soy Sauce Chicken.

Shun Wang is one of the 2 joints in Elmhurst that serve authentic, fast-style food nostalgic to most of us from Cantonese households. If you grew up going to Big Wong and Wing Wong (or any place with a clear view of a hanging roast pig on the window), Shun Wang will bring back nostalgia. I'm biased since I spent a good chunk of my childhood eating this kind of food in Chinatown, but Shun Wang's food is just sufficient enough to fill those cravings. Their price points are pretty high for Elmhurst (where most restaurants haven't raised the prices the way Chinatown or Flushing have, luckily), and their food is just OK. I mainly go for the sake of eating something I'm familiar with my whole life, and people I can still speak the language with. My parents go to their Flushing location and said that the quality has fallen since covid.

Even though this vendor sells tacos pequeño (small tacos, 2-3 bites), they are $3-4 each, which is not cheap. For that reason, I can't give them 5 stars. It's quite pricey considering that most full size tacos are selling for about $4.50-5.50 nowadays on the streets, but double in size. With that said, I appreciate the smaller size for me to enjoy more variety every time I stop by. My favorites change from visit to visit, but generally I always get Suadero (roast meat), Campechano (roast meat & sausage), Buche (pork stomach), Cabeza (beef head), and Lengua (beef tongue). I also like the extra weird parts like Cesos (beef brain) and Ojos (beef eye). However, the texture is very mushy and definitely not for everyone. As accompaniments, for every two tacos you order, they also give you a long stem onion that is quite tender and delicious. On the down side, instead of the traditional lime and radish that most places give, Tacos El Borrego offers lemon and cucumbers. I'm not sure why, except maybe they are cheaper options than the normal garnishes. Also, don't forget the flavorful green and red sauces on the table if you are eating there. Otherwise, ask for some to go. I miss the days when our group of friends would get a few tacos late at night after a party or night out drinking. The prices are no longer the same, but the food is still perfect for sobering up while having some laughs on the streets during the warm months.
