KoffieTentje is a very cute, small and stylish coffee bar. There's a very calm and laid back atmosphere making it perfect to sit in and unwind while enjoying your coffee (and perhaps a piece of brownie? Trust me, their brownies are amazing.) While ordering my coffee, I've chatted with the owner a few times and to simply put it, she's incredibly nice and welcoming. She doesn't mind having a little chat and seems genuinely interested. So if you're looking for great coffee, either for sitting in or taking it with you on your trip to work or university - KoffieTentje is the right choice!

Though I'd never say that Dutch coffee is bad, I'd maybe say that sometimes it can lack a full flavour. So to say that in the first month since opening I've darkened KoffieTenTje's door nearly a dozen times, I'm very impressed with their coffee. The interior is friendly, earthly and modern, and the music is always good (a mix of chilled electronica and folk). The vibe very much reminds me of a less busy Five Elephants (Berlin-based coffee heaven). Lastly I have to say something about the woman who owns it; basically she's lovely. Welcoming, happy, remembers you and your order. I've chatted with her a few times, sometimes in Dutch, more often in English and she's always chatty. In short; great coffee, great atmosphere, great owner.

Warm and friendly staff; they're chatty and welcoming, they also really don't mind if you practice your Dutch on them. The bar comes alive as an afterparty location for many of Breda's citywide events. Christmas parades, Park Parties, Jazz festival etc. Lastly the selection of beers and other drinks is excellent, broad and varied. I've never had issues with anyone not finding anything on the menu to their liking.

They stock about 50 beers…read moreat a time and 60% of these are from Dutch breweries; including Stouts, IPAs and Weisse beers. The staff at Sam Sam are both very knowledgeable as well as very amiable. Whenever I've been in need of advice as to what to drink, the boys and girls at Sam Sam's have been very informative and helpful. Should you want to try a nice, "broad" bar in Breda centre, then I would strongly recommend Sam Sam's.

Visited In Kannen en Kruiken on this sombre rainy day with a friend…read more It's a lovely, homely place filled with vintage and DIY decor, (Mason jar lights for example) making you feel comfortable right at the first second. We checked out the menu, and I have to be honest (being a student) the prices scared me a bit! They quickly redeemed themselves though, cause the portions you get here are amazingly royal. My friend had the Italian lemon cake and I had the carrot cake. Both of us struggled to finish these, but we did because it was too tasty to waste! Other than the cake, we both had a hot chocolate with whipped cream. They came in huge glasses, filled with actual warm milk and having to stir the chocolate yourself. What made it more delicious was that the chocolate was actual Tony's Chocolonely :). They also have a lovely garden where you can sit, but sadly Dutch summer kind of ruined the opportunity for us to do that today. Perhaps in the next review, if the weather allows! All in all, great place to sit, have a chat with your friend and relax.
