While waiting for my passport the hotel and staff where very helpful and a great host. I recommend this hotel 1000 times. They also have a restaurant on the top floor. The sauna it's awesome too although you have to pay extra to use it since it's not your typical sauna, it's herbal infused. Will definitely stay here next trip to Oaxaca.

Ask for a top floor room, and you may get a view that lets you look over most of the rooftops of the city and see the mountains in the distance! Architecturally, it's got lots of fascinating terrace levels, including a beautiful terrace with a small kitchen/cafe that serves breakfast in the morning. There's also a roof top with cafe-style seating and the view from there is simply gorgeous. The hotel is somewhat taller than all the neighboring buildings, giving it a terrific panoramic view of the city. Housekeeping seemed to do their job well. Every day, they exchanged towels, cleaned, organized, etc. They made towel art and even made bows and roses out from the toilet paper rolls and tissue boxes. Only complaint was not the service, but the towels, which were somewhat stiff. Blankets are, say, normal quality for a hotel at this price point. Bed was good; none of us woke up with sore backs or weird kinks. No air conditioning, though the place is made of stone, so generally cooler than outside on hot days. Front desk was helpful booking airport taxis, advising on local sights, and was kind and courteous. Wifi was free and reliable if you could get a signal. Our room was near the end of the building, so we had to get out onto the balcony for a clear signal for phones, though laptops were reliable throughout the room. Speed was medium-ish, with occasional drops; that is, it was normal for Mexico. All in all, judging against, say, a Four Seasons, this is 3.5 or 4 starts, but given that the price is absurdly low compared to luxury hotels, I highly recommend this place at 5 stars. Bathrooms: Lovely, mostly stonework, with a window, cute little soaps and shampoos, with a sink in the room, not the bathroom, which is nice for multi-tasking for multiple people in a room.

Great for cheapos with mediocre standards! PROS:…read more Price Amazing view WiFi Good food/cheap anytime throughout the day Pool Sauna 1-2 ppl speak English Hammocks/lots of places to relax Big rooms SUPER friendly folks, very accommodating Safe Family owned/operated, no thieves Laundry service (cheap) CONS: Bring earplugs, dogs bark 24/7 WiFi only works in public areas, not in rooms Most of the staff don't speak much English Showers are gross, rarely cleaned, bring flip flops Bathrooms generally gross except toilets, paper bucket & floor cleaned daily Office computer broken. IDK about printer Inaccessible, requires 30+ min walk to bus stop, very steep hills, good workout otw back. Some taxis don't even know where it is Very limited # of outlets (rooms & public areas) REALLY old mattresses... Flat, uncomfortable, pillows flat No fitted sheets, just flats, so if you roll around in your sleep be prepared to wake up in a sweaty cocoon Cobwebs No blow drier, iron, shampoo/conditioner or soap. Bring your own Termites in my room, woke up daily to larvae & wood pulp on the floor Towels only, no wash cloths No safes Dim lighting in rooms Lamps are old, I was worried about the safety of inconsistent electrical conditions No staff available overnight Basically if you're a cheapass, don't really care about amenities, can keep clean on your own & don't mind a good bit of exercise, this place is perfect!
