There are some lovely pieces here, heavy handcrafted wood, delicate pottery and pretty glass. Some of it is on the expensive side, but sometimes I think the cost of travelling and bringing bits and bobs through customs can be fraught with drama, so it's OK to spend a little more on a genuine handcrafted item from overseas... don't you agree?

Kara's has a spattering of new and used indoor and outdoor furniture. The prices are reasonable and it is possible to pick up a truly fantastic piece unexpectedly. Recently I was eyeing off some beautiful wooden chairs but unfortunately I have no where to put them at the moment. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. On the downside, the store has a jumbled, squashed feel that makes you wonder. Basically, it looks as though they have jammed as much furniture in as possible, with little thought to the overall design, as is probably the case. It is true they are working with a limited space. Worth a look overall.
