They made me wait to increase my parking fee to degrade me more to prove they were right! They were not unable make take health follow up in clinic and on hold 20 minutes when l got home! A joke and l owe 25000 to self pay critical nerve surgery next week out of state and may have to cancel it and pay 1500 as so upset. A disgrace!! read more

What happened today exceeds all low standards. After 2 months of waiting for the visit, I showed up on time, but forgot my wallet. I had enough cash in my pocket to pay for the regular copay, but as this was going to be a test, $104 was required. Which is not entirely certain anyway, until the insurance approves it. For these people, $ 64 in hand is more important than human health. To make it funnier, unfortunately I work for this institution. Early detection saves lives if you have $64. Sending your bills home is no longer fashionable but paying the president of this institution several million a year is. read more

Been here like 35 or so times and never had a problem. Everyone working here seems happy and pleasant. I mainly go to the infusion center. I went in for a quick checkup and saw Dr. Magg. The receptionist got me in very quickly for an appointment. When i arrives the day of, I was seen before the appointment time. The nurse that takes vitals, etc was really friendly. Dr. Magg was very down to earth and friendly. A great visit and very efficient with your time! read more

I took a family friend for an appointment at this clinic this morning. We were totally disappointed. Ones would think that it's located in the Houston Medical Center, then there patient service is at least at par with other hospitals. We were totally wrong. The appointment desk sent us to a wrong location. They could not find out where their doctor office is located. We finally got to the doctor office that we need to see. We were told that since we were late the doctor cannot see us. My friend was in great pain. The impression we got from them were "WE DON'T CARE"! It's a sad statement from a reputable institution. Horrible organization. Unfortunately, my doctor works there. Last time I went for the appointment, my doctor wasn't there! The lady who called a week before with the appointment reminder lied to me that the appointment is supposed to happen as scheduled, with my doctor. When I got there on the day, the nurse informed me that my doctor's schedule changed last month, they could not be bothered to tell me, so they switched my appointment to another doctor. The other "doctor" showed up - he was clearly due to retire in the last century. He has never heard of me, the reason for my visit, my history, nor was he capable of reading my chart right there in front of me. They proceeded to bill the appointment as if medical services were provided. read more

My nephrologist Dr. Joshi is scheduled to see me 3/07. His office faxes the request for laboratory reports to my physician Dr. Bhuvana Muthuswamy's office. They call me Thursday evening and inform me about this. I go to Baylor from Sugar Land at 8:00 AM Friday. I go to Suite 1275 where the receptionist informs me that they have nothing in the system from the physician's office. I inform her that I will go to their office in 1225. Down the corridor I go and introduce myself to Katya the receptionist. She pages the doctor's nurse and requests me to have a seat. I wait for 30 minutes. Then I request Katya to find the nurse and find out if something is wrong. Katya comes back and informs me that "they are working on it". A few minutes later, the nurse calls me in. I tell her that all I need is the lab request that was faxed to them last night. That's when things get really bad for me. In front of three other ladies at their desks, the nurse informs me that they have no such fax. I request her to check for a Rx pad fax not a lab's preprinted form. She repeats loudly that there is no fax. I call my doctors office at 9:00AM from there. I am told they faxed it to the number I gave them which I verify with the nurse. Then she says to have them fax it directly to the lab and gives me a different number which I convey to the lady on the telephone. She tells me she is faxing it right then. I go back to 1275 and am immediately told by the receptionist that I should just wait a minute. A door opens and this young lady takes me in, I sit down, in goes the needle, out comes the blood. 4 vials and 2 minutes later, the gauze goes on and a purple bandage wraps around the elbow. Within 5 minutes of walking in, I am in the elevator. I pay $6.00 for parking in the lobby, switch elevator banks, go to my car on 6, exit to Main Street within the next 5 minutes. I had been in the building from 7:50 AM till I got on the road around 9:15 AM. I had been fasting, was dying to eat a decent breakfast and get home. But this whole episode happened because I had to go to an in-network physician where the diagnostic labs were within the same premises. That's what my medical insurance coverage with Aetna stipulates. No upfront copays. A small amount later that I remit. For the next quarterly labs I will have Dr. Joshi's office fax the request directly to the lab. I will never go back to my physician, who probably doesn't know what her nurse did out front. She had called us liars in front of 3 other people. Offended a patient who walked out of the doctor's office. My first visit due to insurance and I was coming back to Dr. Anil Patel, my trusted doctor in Sugar Land who was on Aetna's list but I would have to go to Baylor for labs only. Well, we need the lab 4 times a year and Dr. Joshi and I will skip Dr. Muthuswamy. Poor lady, she doesn't even know. read more

Dr. Okoh with Express Care missed a case of streptococcal pharyngitis which is a diagnosis a 2nd year medical student can make. We went to see Dr. Tran with Baylor Family Medicine after that and she made the correct diagnosis and actually prescribed treatment. Dr. Tran and the family medicine nurse were disappointed and surprised that Dr. Okoh didn't test nor treat for strep. If I were Dr. Okoh I'd be seriously embarrassed and think about changing a career to something less intellectually demanding. Instead of Baylor Express Care, I recommend that you find a reliable, intelligent physician who will go through a thought process, and someone with a working knowledge bank of pathophysiology. read more

So appreciative of the care given to my mother suffering from parkinsons. however, the lack of responsiveness to written communication is infuriating. I send physician messages over the MyBaylor system, am promised a 24 or 48 hour response and, even after sending 2 followups, no response. Even during this time while my father was dying, has now died, no response. Additionally, the Baylor System telephone system is torturous - you can be transferred up to 5 times, every time waiting, dialing numbers, only to wait again, then eventually leave a voice message. Isn't this a quasi public institution? Shouldn't there be more attention to customer service? read more

I've spent too much of my time here recently. They've taken too much blood. And have even seen more of me than I'd show even my dear, sweet beloved husband. Some people here are fantastic. Some are okay. I cannot say anyone was rude, or unkind in anyway. Getting tests done isn't fun & cause great anxiety for some people, even for a badass mama like myself. I feel their organization is run smoothly and efficiently to waste as little time as possible. As for the physicians that request these tests, that is another Yelp review for another time. I have been waiting for over a week to get MRI results sent to my doctor and to posted on the patient web portal. Good thing this doesn't involve anything critical and important such as my health and my ability to enjoy life, or my ability to stay employed,or whether or not I need surgery. Yesterday I scheduled an "express-care" appointment with them for this afternoon, but this morning they called and told me my appointment was cancelled. In fact, all the afternoon appointments and some morning appointments were cancelled because "something came up for the physician and he had to leave," according to the woman on the phone. Then they said that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday too, to which they did not give an explanation. Now, the reason why I needed express care is because I felt like crap and needed immediate care, but I wasn't dying thus emergency rooms aren't a good idea. If I had to wait until Wednesday to get care, I would've healed by then. Why the h*ll would I need to see a doctor when my immune system has fought off the infections?!! Overall, Baylor Clinic is bad place and I do NOT recommend them AT ALL. *UPDATE*: I called them again at noon today and they scheduled an appointment for me on Tuesday. I started my treatment in March 2013 and was lucky to get Dr. Osborne and his nurse practitioner on my case. I needed surgery and at that time they were able to recommend their "preferred surgeons" for my procedures. I was and am extremely happy with them and the results I got. Never had a problem getting a call back or an email answered, however, I do think they are doing things a bit different at this time. Now they are using their own group of doctors at Baylor..... just know that it is always your choice who you use for your surgery so ask and research thoroughly...Dr Sherry Lim and Dr Pierre Chevray are excellent oncology surgeon and plastic surgeon respectively. I still see my dr every 6 months and have no problem scheduling my follow up before I leave. read more

I have not been able to be seen at this clinic in two years - not for lack of trying. Every time I needed care, from a finger slammed in a door to colds and travel for work, they told me the only way to be seen was to come sit in the lobby all day. Even I know that's a recipe for spreading disease, and not practicing good medicine. They also charge for every visit and rarely prescribed me anything. What's the use of visiting a "clinic" that provides zero services and causes unnecessary delays? After two years, I've come to my senses and am seeking care elsewhere. Preventative care is useless if the doctors and staff refuse to see patients in a timely manner. read more

It's unfortunate that this is the best they can do. The nurses and techs are great and labs and testing are very efficient. It's the doctors that are the problem. Baylor can't seem to retain them. I'm on my fifth PCP, every one of them have left Baylor without any notification to their patients. The same has happened with 3 of the 4 specialty docs, though they did have the courtesy to inform patients ahead of time. I have to question whether Baylor is interested in keeping patients and doctors on a long term basis. Now I can't seem to get an appointment to get my blood pressure medication refilled, because the last doctor I saw (who is actually still there) was only "filling in" for a doctor who left, considers me a "new patient" which she apparently isn't taking. I'm not used this kind of disruption in care and I've had enough; I'll be taking my business to someone who is actually interested in patient care. read more

Baylor Clinic's Department is the most inefficiently ran facility I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. Evidentially their staff and their doctors have very little communication with one another because the staff seems lost as to what the doctors have requested for their patients, or perhaps the staff ignore the doctors, or simply have too much to do. Nevertheless, it makes for a sad situation where patient care and experience is concerned. Nurses are slow to return calls if they return them at all, and to receive test results, one has to resort to the office manager to obtain any information. My first experience was with Dr. Selby, and the first thing he did when he walked into the examining room was to reprimand me for not being ill enough to see him. He continued to inflate his importance by saying I needed a referral to see him...in spite of the fact that my insurance does not require a referral. All this happened before he even examined me! His rude behavior made me feel I was not important, nor did I have enough intelligence to discern my medical needs although I explained that I was once an EMT with more medical knowledge than the average person. After that bad experience, I decided that I would fire him and see another doctor in the same department. One would have thought I had asked for the sun, the moon and the stars! Finally after speaking to the office manager, I told her that doctor Selby and I had a personality clash, and I wanted to change doctors. So I was allowed to make an appointment with Dr. Stacy Vela. My first meeting with her was professional and I was pleased. Tests were ordered after I explained my concerns and my symptoms. However, due to jury duty, I had to reschedule my procedure several times, which seems to distress the staff. The last time I called to discuss an issue, I was told that the appointment had not been cancelled. Had I not called, I probably would have been charged for a procedure that I would have missed. In the wake of all of this, it was becoming rather murky to whether I was Stacy Vela's patient or her husband's, which was cause for concern since no one had told me that they share their patients. Once I had the procedure, three weeks later, someone called to say my test results were back and to call the office. I returned the call promptly, and no one knew anything about where the results were, and I was told that the test results were not back yet although someone from their office had called me. I called back a couple of days later, and I had to finally get the office manager to track the nurse down to give them to me. I was amazed because the technician who performed the test told me although she wasn't a doctor, she did see an irregularity...not to mention I could indeed feel an irregularity, which is why I went to The Baylor Clinic Gastroenterology Department in the first place. The nurse told me she would get back to me, but it has been a business week, and I have heard nothing. Now I am back to square one. I have never experienced anything so inept and incompetent in my 64 years dealing with doctors and their staff. If the staff is so inefficient, how efficient can the doctors be? Has the medical system become so overloaded that human concern for others' health has become impersonal or uncaring and nonexistent? The bottom line is that I will NOT return to this establishment, nor will I recommend it to anyone else. I chose Baylor Clinic because I thought they were a top-notch health care provider, but I was rudely disappointed. read more

I have only been here once to undergo a "diagnostic service" (MRI, to be exact), so take my review with a graint of salt. But I have done many MRIs in my lifetime, and I can say this is one of the better places to have them done. The staff is friendly and professional, and the technician I had was confident. This is the only place whose MRI machines had headphones so you can listen to music while in the machine. You can still hear all the loud clickings and rumblings of the machine, but to have soothing piano music or whatever genre of your choice is a nice bonus. The clinic confirms the tests will be covered by insurance even before you arrive so you don't run into the mess of showing up and then leaving having wasted your time because your insurance sucks. The facility is clean; the waiting room has The New Yorker (so your friend who accompanied you has something intelligent to occupy her brain while you're inside getting yours filmed); and if you know which doctors' names to throw around, you can even get your parking validated (and you know how much those med center parking costs can be). The only reason I could not give this place 5 stars is because nobody says, "Woo hoo! MRIs!! Give me one, please!" read more

The biggest problem with Baylor Clinic is you can not get anyone from the doctors office to call you back! After leaving mutliple messages over a 3 day period, no one returns call. I will not have surgery with a doctor whose office will not return calls. If they do this before surgery I'm sure its the same afterwards. read more
