I highly recommend this company. We took the half-day tour and visited three places-Pont du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. This particular tour catered to English speakers and I'm not sure that that's true of all of them. Things I liked: - the guide was a very charming and knowledgeable Englishman. He really knew a lot and shared it. - it was a small bus tour - only about a dozen people, which made it nice for getting around and communicating. All the people were older and retired, which makes sense because we were there in early May. - videos are played in the bus before the destinations so you can see where you are about to go. There is also a GPS so you can see where the bus is relative to all the WWII spots in Normandy. - there are easily accessible bathrooms at two of the three stops. Just one restroom on Omaha Beach, but it was OK. Things that were a bit difficult: - We were driving and it was difficult to find parking in Bayeux. We finally were able to, but it took some searching. (This is really not the fault of the company, but something to be aware of if you drive here.) - because it's a half a day tour you don't spend a lot of time at each destination, maybe 45 minutes or an hour. That was sufficient for us but we were hustling at certain points. One more thing; you need to be able to walk a quarter to half a mile over sometimes rough terrain. Overall this was one of our best days in Normandie and I think most people would greatly enjoy this tour. read more

We made our reservations on line at the suggestion of a buddy of mine who is a USN officer/veteran from a military family who liked the tour so much, he went on it twice. You meet at Quebec Place in Bayeux which is an easy to find, nicely landscaped parking lot. It's easy to find your shuttle bus and your guide/driver, so don't fret. Lloyd from Wales was our guide and was very informative. We went on the all day tour of the American beaches. You get to see a couple of villages, including the famous St. Mere Eglise village, and Utah and Omaha beach. Lloyd was very formal and efficient, but loosed up at the end of the tour when I was able to have a few words in private with him. You get dropped off back in Bayeux at a public parking lot just south of Quebec Place. Two days later, we took the Shuttle to Mont St. Michel. You get driven there, given your tickets, and dropped off at the visitor center. You pick up the Shuttle to return to Bayeux at your appointed time and location. Our driver was also from Wales and loves to talk with you to help kill the 90 minute drive. A great way to get to Mont. St. Michel from Bayeux. read more

I was staying in Caen but wanted to see the DDay sites. It seemed impossible to go via public transit so I booked a half day tour to the American sites. I'm so glad I did! The amount of information and history of the sites that was given made it well worth the price. I didn't remember much from high school history class, but the multimedia and visual aids made visiting the sites much more powerful. Ian was entertaining and informative. Today we completed a one day D-Day tour focused on the American experience. We were so excited to go on this tour and see the sites. However, what made it one of the most memorable tours we have ever had was our tour guide, Lloyd Scott. His World War 2 knowledge and specific knowledge on D-Day and Operation Overlord was really incredible. He not only told historical account of what happened on June 6, but his ability to add in stories about specific American soldiers and how their personal efforts impact the day were really amazing. We can't recommend this company and specifically Lloyd enough. A wonderful experience and truly a day my family will never forget! read more

I never write reviews, always consume them but never contribute. Decided to change that after my day with Bayeux Shuttle. I am traveling abroad alone, 30yr old guy, US veteran...Booked a seat on the shuttle a couple days prior, the full day DDay Tour. Do not do the half day, just suck it up and do the full day. It goes so quick and is incredible. You see it all. Inspiring, emotional, factual, powerful, etc...Dress in layers, or bring extra clothes with you (windy on the beaches). You can leave them in the van if need be. Also bring a bottled water or two. I was the youngest in my group by 20 years and the only one alone, but it didn't matter. We bonded as a group and the guide as incredible. Don't be "that couple" - get back to the shuttle on time when the guide says. My group respected everyone's time and we were perfectly on schedule. Good ol' Hana A. covered the itinerary in a previous review. Charles was a real treat. Great pamphlets showing pictures, his driving habits were safe and courteous, and great narration by him or the automated video board and professional narration in the shuttle. Lunch was perfect, at a small B&B looking place right near the beaches. So well run, so well organized, on time, so worth the money. I saw numerous other tours with smaller operations and younger guides who didn't seem to really care and value it. It kinda reminded me of Vegas, everyone out there hustlin' a tour. It's big money around here and the season is short, but I didn't feel it at all with Bayeux Shuttle. I walked from my AirBnB which was way cheaper than the few hotels in the town. Just stay in Bayeux, not Caen. Bayeux is all original since it wasn't bombed. Don't get a private driver either, go with this type setup. Bring some cash and tip Charles, we all tipped even though the culture here I guess doesn't tip. The group session brings it all together and you always have people to help take your picture, especially when you are a young bachelor. #foreveralone #tableforOne Anyways, long review but by far the company to use. I am sure Overlord Tour, BattleBus, etc are okay, but this was the one I picked after tons of research and it was 100% worth it. My wife and I recently took the full day tour of the American beaches. Nick, our tour guide, was outstanding. He is from England so language was a non issue. Nick's has a vast knowledge, and an obvious passion, around the entire war and respectfully walked his clients through a very difficult and emotional experience.
