Not only does this restaurant serve self-made traditional German food, it is also filled with history. While looking to write a review online I found that it has its own wikipedia page (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hühnerkirche).
Definitely worth the trip especially if you're looking for a break from the city life in Frankfurt. Although the location can be a bit far the restaurant is located by wonderful woods which makes it a great spot for hiking.
My personal favorite was the house-made boehmische knödel (which I have not yet found at any other German restaurants so far). They also serve locally brewed beer which accompanied my meal nicely. The prices are fair, as the portions are pretty big, compared to other restaurants in Germany. Though over-all the atmosphere did seem a bit dated it added to the authenticity.
