But in November it houses the Big Water Film Festival. This past weekend I had the honor of being invited after submitting my film. Of all the places I wanted it shown it was here. Mostly because it has the most class and good taste. I loved wandering around just for the beauty of the facility. The lights at night were gorgeous. A beautiful patio and lots of seating. I'm glad it's not in one of the larger cities, and adds to the city. The Steak pit is down the road and in walking distance. A convenient motel is just steps away. The sponsers and folks who run this place are to be commended. I'll use any excuse to visit here.

The theater is cozy, but all the seats have good site lines. The production itself was well done. Despite the small space the sets changed by the act and created the feel of a real office and then home. Overall, compared to Canadian theatres, I would consider the theatres in America to be an attraction and far more superior than any Canadian theatre that I have ever been in. What if they had a crowd. We went to see Malcolm's List. It was us and one other pair. They other pair purchase their ticket online. Total attendance for evening showings was 6. The theatre was nice, seats okay, and sound/screen adequate. It is in the basement of a very old building so it smells damp. My husband and I were city dwellers most of our lives so we are no strangers to independent theatre and films, however Zeitgeist takes the prize. The first "preview" was a short on two lakes, Superior and one in Russia, made by teenagers. The actual films under preview were extremely "independent"; ones I'm sure will play in very few markets except major cities with film clubs. We hope Zeitgeist gets enough donations to stay in business and we are able to visit again next summer.

If you combined the DMV waiting area, an urgent care waiting room, daycare, and a chicken coop, that's what the theater was like during the show. The entire row behind us had newborns and toddlers crying and running back and forth. The child in front of us kept turning around to stare at us before finally climbing over the row in front of him to sit elsewhere. Two people in front of us texted constantly. And the entire left side of the theater was unaccompanied kids. Nobody shut up the entire 120 minutes. Ever. Not even worth $5.
