This pub has been one of Wrenthorpe's landmarks for years - one of my earliest memories is meeting Santa at the Bay Horse and being given a selection box (my friend got one too, ate the whole thing and promptly threw up in the toilets.) Nostalgia aside, this is a bit of an old fashioned pub and does tend these days to cater mainly for the older crowd. However, they welcome new faces and it is actually a very pleasant place to have a drink. The landlord has really started trying to attract new customers in recent months and they now host karoke nights, free BBQs (in the summer), and quite often have tribute acts or entertainment on. They also have a pub quiz night which is good - quite hard, but sparsely attended which improves your chances of winning. read more
