She could get five stars if it were just for her patient skills, give her a raise! *I like the doctor as a whole. *The finance lady was an absolute nightmare, she was cruel, cold, and abusive. She talked over me, had a constant condescending tone, wouldn't let me finish a thought or question and kept repeating herself even yelling at me and literally forcing me to yell back to even be listened to and get a response which was not answering a question but saying she would get the answer, leaving the room, and not then just coming back.

That one-hour drive has been 100% worth it ever since! They've handled several complex dental issues for me that other dentists struggled with--especially when it came to achieving outstanding cosmetic results. The work is always precise, natural-looking, and done with genuine care for both function and appearance. I've never felt rushed or like just another patient; they truly listen and tailor everything to what works best for me. The entire team is exceptional. Dr. Rosen is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and has a calm, reassuring manner that puts you at ease. Amanda and Jeanie are absolute standouts--warm, attentive, and so good at what they do. The front office staff is equally friendly and efficient; they make scheduling and check-ins a breeze. Despite the distance, I'll keep coming back because Wauwatosa Dental Arts simply offers the best dental experience out there. If you're looking for top-tier care, especially for cosmetic or challenging cases, this is the place. Highly recommend--5 stars aren't enough! Thanks to the whole team for taking such great care of me all these years!

Okay, so I had to get my wisdom teeth out here because it was the place I got a referral to. I made…read morethe appointment, and they got me in super quick, like in two weeks. I made the decision ahead of time to get put under. I have bad anxiety and heard the sounds were awful. The dentist comes in and tells me he doesn't want me doing that. In fact he kept referring to a story of a 17 year old boy out east that died from being put under. He kept telling me he wanted to wake up. This was not helping my anxiety. I was bullied into staying awake for my extraction. I was actually happy it happened though. It saved me money and really wasn't THAT bad. Though it was loud, and did hurt a bit at times. Their billing was closed for the day, so I couldn't pay, but get this, I was supposed to have an upfront down payment. They never asked. Two weeks later I went in for my free follow up, which was literally just swirling some mouthwash, and was on my way out when I thought to ask billing what was up with my bill. They were confused as they looked at my file until I said they hadn't charged me. So I paid finally and left.

No work was done on my mouth. They never took an xray, or anything. I was charged because I canceled the appt. with them and then, I was given another charge, which I did pay both to get them out of my life. I liked the personality of the doctor, but the people who handles the business side, is just fishing for money. I would never go back for that reason. And I just got a text today, which is months later asking for more money, and I spoke to my insurance today to find that they sent in other claims. Unreal!!!

I was referred to this office and made my situation abundantly clear from the start: I am traveling…read morefrom Chicago, paying entirely out of pocket, and have an extremely limited and hectic work schedule. I called three months in advance specifically to secure surgery during a pre-approved week off in January. I was explicitly told there was availability, with the only requirement being a pre-op appointment. I completely understand this needed pre- appt. I drove in from Chicago at 5AM for that appointment, and was told my X-rays from 12 months prior were "too old." While frustrating, I understood and agreed to repeat imaging, paying $450 that day. After the exam, I was sent to reception to pay and "schedule surgery," only to then be told I would need yet another appointment before surgery could even be scheduled -- something that was never disclosed minutes earlier in the room. After explaining that I had already made a lengthy trip and that this was not what had been communicated to me, the staff briefly conferred and suddenly said they could perform the cone beam scan that same day for an additional $350. Wanting to avoid yet another trip and finally move forward, I agreed and paid on the spot. After completing the scan, I was once again sent to reception, where I was then told they actually could not accommodate surgery during the very week they had originally promised. At that point, I had paid roughly $800 for appointments day of and scans based entirely on their assurances, only to be told they could not deliver what had been guaranteed. I remained polite, rescheduled for my next available time off (cancelling my personal VACATION) in March, and clearly explained that this would be my only window until June. I also emphasized that I am in significant pain and that the delay was severely impacting my quality of life. The response was largely dismissive. I left defeated and disappointed, but understood that things happen. I received a call last week (Feb.9th from Allie) informing me that they could not perform my surgery at all because Dr. Kimmel would be "busy." It is baffling that I was scheduled in the first place if this was the case. At this point, I politely requested copies of my receipts, X-rays, and cone beam scan so I could seek care elsewhere. The tone immediately shifted, and I was met with impatience, dismissiveness, and clear irritation simply for asking for records I had paid for. When the emailed records did not include the $350 cone beam scan, I followed up and again encountered attitude questioning why I would need it despite the fact that I personally funded it. It was eventually mailed to me on a CD. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and profoundly unprofessional. My family has spent tens of thousands of dollars here over the years as uninsured, cash-paying patients, which makes this level of disregard even more disappointing. It is clear to me the dismissive communication here demonstrates a serious lack of respect for patients' time, finances, and well-being. To say I am disappointed in the level of care and professionalism would be an understatement. This is not how you treat loyal, paying patients. I hope this is a "one-off" situation for this office because Dr. Kimmel himself was incredibly kind and thorough with explaining my surgery that I unfortunately, will not be having here.

Horrible experience. Ofice staff are friendly, but Dr. Wagner is a cold person with no empathy.read more

I don't know if it is common practice to make patients wait five months to have work done. Maybe all oral surgeons make their patients wait that long. What I do know is that this office used a retired prosthodontist from out of state to make the actual implant for my mouth. I also know that this office rescheduled my appointments more times than they kept them. In addition, I can attest that one of the times my appointment was moved was AFTER I was already in the chair waiting to have the work done. It wasn't until the moment that the implant was to be placed that she realized that it had not arrived yet. There I was, mouth open, waiting for the work to begin, when I was told "Oopsie, we don't have the implant. Come back later." As a person who does not receive Paid Time Off for such situations, the frequent rescheduling that seems to be common for this office has been extremely costly for me. I asked several times for a discount to off-set my lost wages, and have been stone-walled. Use Wendy Pietz only if: (A) You can't find anywhere else to go. (B) You have a very flexible schedule. (C) You don't mind waiting a long time. And (D) You don't mind losing multiple work days for your oral surgery needs. Otherwise, you'd be better off going somewhere else.
