If I could give 100 stars to Dr. Bauman and his team I would. I don't usually do reviews unless the service is phenomenal and warrants a 5 star review. To give some background, I had interviewed and seen at least 1/2 a dozen top hair transplant specialists across both Europe and the US and not one I felt matched the expertise of Dr. Bauman. Some may think the consultation fee is high but if you are serious about getting this procedure, know that he is worth every penny and it will go towards the procedure anyway. There are ALOT of doctors doing this procedure and I saw quit a few nightmares. The other area that I feel Dr. B and his team excel in is the service they provide. This place is extremely well run and professional with an extraordinary team of people to help you through every step of the process. On the morning of the procedure you obviously feel a bit vulnerable and anxious but Dr. B and the team were so good at making sure I was comfortable and I felt taken care of every step of the way. I remember thinking after the procedure how grateful I felt that I had made the right decision to choose Dr. B for this procedure. I'm only 6 months out and already my results are amazing. Bauman showed up for maybe 10 minutes of an extremely expensive and painful 3 hour procedure. He Was disrespectful to his nurses because the anesthestic had not taken effect. His technique was rough and rushed. The nurses/assistants performed 90%. He didn't do the consult, the procedure or the follow-up. Complete waste of $$$ and time. I went to Dr. Bauman in Nov. 2009 and got 3,378 grafts over two days with the FUE NeoGraft method. (Each follicle is removed individually from the donor area instead of cutting out a large "donor strip.") From start to finish I felt my procedure and his professionalism were absolutely top notch, and my grafts have grown in beautifully. He told me at the time I might want to come back later for a touch-up because we brought my front hairline down on my forehead, and so I did return for another 1000+ grafts in Aug. 2010. I've gotten nothing but compliments about how natural my hairline looks (no one knows I had hair transplants unless I tell them), and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Bauman to anyone. I just had a 1500 graft procedure done @ Baumann Medical. I came here because they are 'the best' according to some of the staff members, mainly Melanie who I liked. I feel Dr. Baumann comes across as professorial, though I am not sold on the methods of hair preservation. I would prefer to attend some of Dr. Baumann's conferences to hear a consensus as to what works, and at the best price! Dr. Baumann, I would be happy for an invite! During my procedure: I came in the morning around 7:30am. Dr. Baumann draws a line where the grafts will be inserted and a line from which they will be extracted (through FUE). He makes the incisions the technicians will be inserting the grafts. The extraction procedure is done entirely by 'technicians.' Felipe was great and conversational. Some of the other technicians say little or nothing (not a great bedside manner, I expect more from the best). During the insertion of the grafts a women on my right was laughing hysterically and very loud during the playing of 'Coming to America' movie. So loud and shaking over and over again that I asked if she was okay!? - Not professional at all...it made me question whether she was high or drunk. The doctor became offended and dismissed my claims a couple weeks later. He initially (Bauman) stated that he had a video of every procedure and he would review it, but later backtracked and said it likely no longer existed anymore (2 weeks later). I encouraged him to watch the video to see what I was talking about! I have had hair procedures before (FUT) 12 years ago in a small city, and this doc and his staff was MUCH more professional and he performed the entire surgery! When I came in the next day after the surgery, Christina was trying to explain to me how to care for the donor site and grafts but some of the other staff (Briana and a friend) were talking and laughing so loud, we were both distracted and could not concentrate! Briana blamed Christina for not talking loud enough. What a disaster. When I cam for my 2 week checkup, my chart was lost for a half hour and I had to text Bauman in Italy to get staff to come to the front desk to check me in. Again, a total disaster, what I am paying for? From my understanding, and I have done my research, Bauman is a trend follower. He follows trends in treatment before they have had anything but minimum preliminary support in research. Case in point, PRP (platelet rich plasma) Therapy has some studies which show little or no positive results (Cindy Gasnier, 2015). Dr. Bauman is 90% self-promotion and aggrandizing (10% medical specialist). Today, you pay $15,000 for him to poke a few holes in your skin, draw a couple of lines (what an artist!) and let the drunk techs down your grafts in solution before they try to stick them in. I am hopeful but skeptical for any kind of results similar to what I received 12 years ago from a no-name doctor in North Carolina. Visited Dr. Baumans office to discuss hair thinning concerns due to prior iron deficiency. The receptionist who was talking to someone else did not greet or acknowledge me for 15 to 20 minutes. Once I was taken to a room Baumans patient coordinator greeted me warmly although by the wrong name (twice) and listened to my history and concerns. After Bauman finished his photo shoot that was taking place he came in and greeted me.. He was friendly but soon I realized it was just part of his sales pitch persona. He asked me if I had tried a popular topical solution and when I said no and gave my reasons he gave me a sharp " I thought you wanted to resolve your hair issue". I explained that I did, I was simply expressing why I hadn't tried it. I was put off by how he went from overly nice to snappy. Next he stood up like he was giving a sales presentation to tell me about the plan he wanted to put me on. $3000 laser cap and $242 ninety day topical solution. I asked him about scalp redness I had which he didn't have any opinion of the cause and quickly got back on course of his sales presentation. I advised him I had seen Antonella Tosti who is a renowned hair loss expert and he dismissed her as a researcher not a treatment doctor. In my opinion, Bauman comes off as disingenuous and like a luxury car salesman. I wasn't impressed. Don't believe the hype. Bauman may be a good place to start but if you've done the research on hair loss or thinning you will see through the smoke and mirrors. Alternatively, I would highly recommend Dr. Gerardo Valdes. I had 3 surgeries with alan bauman with ZERO results and 2 HORRIFIC SCARS!!!! Please o please dont go to bauman the butcher!! Also dont be misled by his fake testimonials and advertising!! He also photo shops before and after pics to mislead uninformed patients. If you decide to do a consult with bauman ask him where he got his training as a hairtransplant surgeon. Also be sure to ask him if he will refund your surgery if you have no new hair afterwards. This is my first bad review for anything, EVER, and it will be brief because I am extremely busy - but grab your wallet AND your head and run for your life. DR BAUMAN IS A CROOK AND A CHARLATAN!!! He is a snake oil salesman and I am amazed he still even has a medical license. He did his disastrous "eyelash transplant" on me and I am now on my THIRD surgery and have spent a fortune to correct the nightmare he caused to my previously very healthy eyes and eyelashes. The so-called hair replacement he did at the same time on my head due to loss from an iron deficiency grew in and then FELL OUT permanently 6 months later. And it is not new hair loss because I can tell where he added the graphs from the before and after pictures. And to add to the fun; for some insane reason he tried to make a widow's peak (I've never had a widow's peak nor wanted one.) and all of the hair fell out from the hairline over it, so I now have about 20 long hairs (which I have to shave) growing out of the top of my forehead like a freak. He offered to "correct" my eyelash debacle with more surgery but I would not let this man touch me with a 10 foot pole! I went to Bauman medical group after losing 50% of my hair due to COVID and stress. His PA explained that PRP treatment would promote hair growth. I met Dr Bauman for 10 minutes who told me very arrogantly that he doesn't perform the treatment his PA does. He was rude and unsympathetic and unprofessional. No one mentioned to that the PRP treatment would cause more hair shedding. The PA did not tell me the numbing injections would cause my heart to race. In conclusion I would not recommend Bauman Medical. There are numerous dermatologists that perform PRP. read more

***BE VERY AWARE*** I was very skeptical before finally pulling the trigger with Dr. Bauman. It took me 3 years to get the surgery after my initial consultation with him. He prices the surgery on a "per graft" basis, but do not let that fool you. Before my surgery, he told me that I would need between 4800-5000 total grafts to achieve a full head of hair. He sold me at a "very special discounted rate" of 20k for 4300 grafts. It has been almost 2 years now, and I would need another full 2 day procedure to achieve what I supposedly got from the first round. I am currently no where near a full head of hair. He totally mislead me and convinced me that I would have a full head of hair (or very close to it) with my supposed 4300 grafts. The truth is, there is physically no way for you to know exactly how many grafts he is actually giving you. You just have to take his word for it. Yes, you read correctly. He charges you per graft, but there is physically no way for you to know exactly how many grafts you actually get. YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT. His whole operation is smoke and mirrors for them to upsell their products and services. part of my "very special discounted rate" came with a laser therapy cap that they tell you is 3k dollars. Perfect example of them marking up costs of 1000%. Those same laser caps are on amazon for 300-500 and they tell you that they are doing you a favor by providing a value of 3k. Just a slick marketing tactic to justify the tens of thousands of dollars you are spending for a procedure that should really cost between 3-5k at most. Now for the actual review of the surgery. During the consultations leading up to the surgery, you are always meeting with Dr. Bauman, and he makes you feel like you are paying a premium for getting a surgery performed by Dr. Bauman. Couldn't be farther from the truth. I spent more time talking with him before the surgery, then I did of him actually performing the surgery. Keep in mind that my surgery was for a full 2 days. DO NOT BE FOOLED, his techs literally do all the work. The only time you even see Dr. Bauman is right in the beginning as he numbs your skull and makes the incisions on your head of where they are going to put in the harvested grafts. That whole process takes about 10 minutes total, then the surgical techs come in and do everything else. Literally everything. The only other time you see Dr. Bauman is when its time to wrap your head (the techs even do that) and he looks at the work the surgical techs did (again, maybe 30 seconds of interaction) and sends you on your way. The next morning is the same thing, maybe a total of 2-3 minutes with Dr. Bauman, then the surgical techs do everything else. I have nothing bad to say about the real workers, they were all very pleasant and did a great job with the work that they did. I do not have any scars and I definitely have a lot more hair than I originally did. But I was definitely mislead and I genuinely feel like I was cheated of my hard earned money. The fancy office and new equipment that you see is again smoke and mirrors. Everything that was done with my surgery was done by hand by the surgical techs. That same surgery could have been performed in a warehouse, there was nothing special about it at all. Just very time consuming for the people that actually do the work. After a year went by (Dr. Bauman tells you it takes a full year to see the full results), I obviously was not satisfied with my results (I wanted a full head a hair or really close to it), and reached back out to Dr. Bauman to see what he can do for me. After doing extensive research with the knowledge that I now had of the real operation, I looked up the average salary of very experienced surgical techs and calculated all the costs including the time of Dr. Bauman and asked if they can do another 2 days of surgery for 5k. After calculating all the costs and factoring the overtime of the surgical techs, Dr. Bauman would still bring in a profit off this 5k offer that I made. He had Olja contact me (which by the way, she is a nightmare to deal with post operation. She NEVER returned any of my voicemails, text messages or emails), and said that Dr. Bauman has agreed to the 5k, but I would have to do it during their slow period. I am local to South Florida, so I agreed. This was back in January 2019, it is now June. Since I never got a phone call from them, I called last week to follow up (had to reach out to Dr. Bauman directly because of course Olja never calls/emails you back) and now they don't remember the conversation and they said they would never have agreed to it. So now, I have wasted 5 months and am out 20k. There is absolutely nothing special about The Bauman Medical Group. You can get this same surgery for a fraction of the cost many other places. I had excellent results with Dr Bauman. I had lost a bunch of hair in the back of my head. I could have had a shot to stimulate hair growth, but I decided on the cap and drops. I Was not diligent at first, but when I was my hair started to return. I used the drops all over my head and the texture of my hair totally changed. It strengthened my hair,, no split ends,,my hair is thicker and more than I have ever had. I started last September and I continue to use the drops and cap. I had gone to 2 top doctors in NYC and neither suggested this method. I also considered eyebrow replacement, and and I wasn't happy with the NY doctors or Dr Bauman. Dr. Bauman is truly wonderful at what he does, and I'm absolutely astonished with the results I have had since my Eyelash Transplant in March of 2015. I have amazing, full, LONG beautiful eyelashes! I have tried eyelash growth serums (Latisse, Idol Lash, LiLash, and Jan Marini) after I destroyed my eyelashes with false ones, and none of those got me to the full results that I had wanted. I had a consultation over the phone with Dr. Bauman, because at the time I was very far from the location of their office. I sent photos over email beforehand, and filled out paperwork over email as well. Right after my surgery I instantly had long lashes, but they do shed then re-grow back (which is expected). Not all had shed, but the ones that did grew back thick, and quickly. I'm a 27 year old Female struggling every single day to try and deal with my thinning hair. I've also had fine hair since I was young but it's never been to this extent. This past September, my scalp started to burn and itch and I had never experienced it before so I had no idea what was going on. I noticed on a daily basis, several strands would fall out (more than normal) so I did a lot of research into hair loss specialists. I had seen my PCP and a Dermatologist, which none were helpful. I just didn't know what to do anymore because I started having extreme anxiety and depression over my hair becoming so thin and falling out, I got to the point where I didn't even want to leave the house. I contacted Bauman Medical, which also took about a month for a consultation appointment and a $100 fee which was fine because any other additional appointments would be free of charge. I live in Orlando, so I was willing to drive the 6 hour car ride ( 3 hours there and 3 hours back) because I finally thought I had found the person who would be able to help. I spent $3,000 on a PRP treatment which the Doctor draws blood from you, rotates it in a machine and injects the good blood into your scalp for new hair growth. They say it only last a year and you'd need to keep paying $3,000 every time you want to get it done. Unfortunately, I have seen NO new hair growth improvement AT ALL!! Took about 3 months for a follow up and I would constantly stay in contact via email with the Doctor sending him my concerns and pictures. I was told it is "Hereditary Alopecia" which no one in my family struggles with thin hair or burning scalp or itchy skin. It's been almost a year since the burning scalp has started and it's been a constant struggle every single day because it hasn't gone away. Since then, besides my PRP treatment, I have purchased Minoxidil (women's rogaine) Viviscal Hair Growth supplements, 2 different shampoos and a conditioner all from Baumans office and nothing has worked. I also don't qualify for a hair transplant as my hair is just way too thin at this point. I called and canceled my appointment I had scheduled for August because I'm not going to spend another $1 when nothing worked. I'm highly disappointed. I feel like my concerns that I explained were just looked past. I noticed my scalp very tender, sore and felt what seemed to be bumps and he just said it was odd but did nothing and out it. I ordered a medical device which is advertised on Dr. Bauman's website and received an email confirmation of the order. I waited for 2 weeks and never received the item. I sent an email asking for information and received no response. I then called and after some confusion - and much waiting on the phone - was informed that they were no longer offering the item for sale. In fact, they had stopped selling it some time ago. It took them the rest of the day to figure out that in spite of the email confirmation I had received, they had never charged me for the item, and that the order was in fact inexistant. They claimed not to know how I had ordered the item. I directed them to the website and the person I spoke to said that she couldn't figure out how to order it.....I pointed out that it was quite simple since I had done it and had the confirmation to prove it. No spontaneous apologies were offered - simply excuses. Perhaps they do good hair replacement work, but when it comes to my particular experience, they were uninformed, unhelpful and frankly misleading. read more
