Dr.Baum is a great orthodontist and I like how he educates you on your teeth. Staff are accommodating. What threw me off was when I mentioned that I lost my job and I cannot afford my ortho care, I tried and asked if they could work something out. Unfortunately, that's not the case. They asked for very high monthly payments and I'm still trying to cover my student loans. I hope they can meet me where I'm at. read more

Disappointed by Aggressive Payment Policies I had high hopes for this orthodontic office after my consultation. Dr. Baum and the X-ray technician were both wonderful--polite, professional, and clearly very skilled at their jobs. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and I felt comfortable with their expertise. Unfortunately, things took a sour turn when money came up. I was quoted just under $5,000 for braces after insurance. My payment options were either to pay the full amount upfront or make monthly payments for 18 months. At the time of my visit, Valerie at the front desk mentioned that the $68 X-ray charge could be waived if I committed to the treatment right away. While I would have loved to move forward, our financial situation just didn't allow for such an unexpected expense at that moment. I called back later that same day to explain my situation and let them know that I wanted to come back next year to start treatment when I'm financially ready. Instead of understanding, they sent me a bill for $68. I asked if I could pay the $68 now and have it applied as a credit toward my treatment next year, but Valerie's response was incredibly curt, rude, and inflexible. I understand that businesses need to be paid, and I was not refusing to pay--in fact, they were getting the full amount either way. But their aggressive approach and unwillingness to accommodate even a small, reasonable request left a bad taste in my mouth. I had every intention of coming back, but now I'd rather take my business elsewhere--even if it means paying more--just to be treated with respect and flexibility. If you're looking for an orthodontic office that prioritizes patient care over aggressive sales tactics, I suggest looking elsewhere. UPDATE: This is a response to DR Baum. Obviously there is still not enough care to the patient. You didn't carefully read my review. I didn't refuse the 68 dollar payment. I said I will pay the 68 now (I paid you guys this afternoon online, you can verify that). When I come back next year to pay the 5000, you apply a credit of 68 from the 5000. You would not lose anything even if I don't come back next year. And DR. Baum. You didn't take over 2 hours to explain. Don't lie. It's not a good look. If I could give this zero stars I would. They totally take advantage of young adults. My son needed to get retainer repaired while at college. They are in network for Delta Dental Insurance, and are not honoring the contracted rates, they said my son verbally agreed to pay higher price, even though they lied to him and said he had exceeded lifetime benefits and nothing would be covered. The x-rays were covered, and the service should have been a contracted amount. DO NOT HAVE YOUR COLLEGE STUDENTS GO HERE. I never had to wait to be seen & the visit was literally in & out. The price was higher than others, however, you do pay for the location, no wait time, up to date technology, excellent customer service, but most of all excellent Doctor. I recently started my treatment at the Westchester office and have been very pleased with my experience so far. I am wearing the Baum Orthodontic Aligners and find them to be thinner and far less noticeable than my co-worker's Invisalign. The bad reviews are right on! When I got my braces here, I was told that follow up visits after the braces are removed would be free. And they were until they suddenly changed their policy and started charging over $100 for said follow ups. This is after insurance payment and I would have to pay out of pocket. I tried asking Dr. Baum of the duration of treatment left over but would get a "not much longer/almost there" answer instead of an educated guess within a time frame from an experienced orthodontist. That is if he even managed to look and talk to you longer than five seconds before jumping to the next patient. So I just stopped going even though my treatment is incomplete. The majority of work on my teeth were done so not all is loss but on hindsight I would find a different orthodontist. And thanks to this place I still have to anyway. Don't be fooled by Dr G Baum's fake concern and sales pitch during consultation like I was, when in reality he just doesn't care and you're just a paycheck to him. One redeeming point is the dental assistants are nice and caring. I hope they're compensated accordingly by Dr. Baum for filling in the void that he created. read more

If you are looking for invisalign style braces, look no further. Dr. Bradley Baum has been doing his own version of them since before invisalign! My wife used him more than 10yrs ago with terrific results, and I finally decided to close my gaps up! I decided to get a couple of quotes just to make sure I was on track with price - Dr. Baum was by far the least expensive, and, given my wife's great experience, it was a no brainer to go with him. He is super friendly - and very respectful of your time - meaning he is both on time, and keeps things moving so you are in and out in good time. He is in control of the entire process, and with each fitting will quiz you on how you are finding it, whether you want him to go tighter, or ease of a little. The process was flawless. If you ever break an aligner, you call them up and they have a replacement for you the next day, and if you're out of town, they mail it to you. The building has its own parking lot, but I never used it as every single appointment I found free street parking right in front of the building. His staff are friendly and professional, and the office has been kept thoroughly clean and sensible use of Covid protocols through-out. He nailed the timeline, and didn't go a penny over budget. Honestly, I could not recommend Dr. Baum more - if I were to do it all over again, the only thing I'd change was to have done it 20yrs ago! read more

This is a review of Dr.Bradley Baum. I had a terrible experience. After a month of having the "Baum Aligners" (basically invisalign) I came to get them changed. Dr.Baum was NOT there, and did not tell me that he would not be there and was out of the country for the next FEW WEEKS. I was given the aligners by the assistant who gave them to me told me to try them and then left to go deal with another patient. The aligners did not fit my teeth and were putting so much pressure on my teeth I couldn't close my mouth. After waiting in pain for about ten minutes, she came back and I told her they didn't fit. She called Dr.Fernandez who didn't even look at my mouth and simply said well Dr.Baum left them for you. My mom had to get involved and then he offered to make me new ones (which I appreciated) but still told me that I probably wasn't wearing them as I should be (and trust me, I have as an adult I was not forced into this). At this point I was angry, knowing the doctor wasn't there, and I went home annoyed and cancelled my aligners. I got a call from Dr.Bradley Baum a few days later who talked to me on the phone for a half hour lecturing me that "I did not wear the aligners correctly or at all." Are you kidding me?!!? Just take responsibility that you overestimated the movement of my teeth! Also, next time you go on vacation it's common courtesy to simply say: " I won't be here next time you come in" and introduce me to Dr.Fernandez, and say "If you have any problems Dr.Fernandez will be assisting you." This place is not professional and runs like a factory. Dr.Baum only cares about getting new patients and making more money. read more

Office is ok, they are a little pricey and they dont offer Damon braces (self ligating) After I saw 3 other Orthos I decided I would go with someone else because of the price and also the other guy did a more detailed exam and explained everything to me. This office conviced me to get x-rays that day and told me they could not do a thorough exam without them. The other places took pictures and did my exam without x-rays and they explained everything to me right then and there. I drive my son to Dr. Baum because I trust his expertise. The office is very clean, there is virtually no wait ever, and there is an amazing view. In fact, if the waiting area was near the windows, I bet many folks would be writing about the view. No doubt Baum Orthodontics is expensive. There is an additional payment for the retainer at the end (like nearly $700), so when you think it's paid off, it's not. However, in the end, my son's teeth are perfect. BTW I recommend parking in the building - entrance and exit are on the Sepulveda side. There is always a space available and I hardly ever pay more than $2. Bring cash. read more

This office is a turn-style for braces with very infrequent oversight by the MD's perhaps due to shear volume. Ours was a very poor experience for child and parent! No transparency in cost, especially when it came to insurance, which they balked at. When our insurance changed and learned that it should have been covered. In the end consumers and families end up paying thousands more, in this case, for poor service. The office staff was able to fit me in to their schedule within 1 hour of my initial phone call. I first got a recommendation for Dr. Baum (specifically Bradley Baum) from a friend because he has worked on her braces before, so after my free consultation my family had paid for me to get braces for the next two years to straighten out my teeth and fix my overbite. Over the course of the two years Baum was rarely present, every appointment he would see you for a minute and then move on to someone else. And once I had gotten my braces taken off, even after the first 2-3 weeks, no matter how often I wore my retainer, my teeth began to shift back to the way they were. Every appointment post braces is $95 for absolutely no help, and when my family and I had asked Baum to help fix the problem, he said nothing was wrong despite 5 other orthodontists saying I needed to fix my bite immediately, and that we would have to pay for braces all over again. Overall I am very disappointed with my experience because now I have to pay in full for new braces with another orthodontist because of Baum's refusal to help. If you are considering on getting treatment from Bradley Baum, don't do it. You would wasting copious amounts of money and time. read more

Let me start by saying there is no better way to be distracted while someone is probing at your teeth, than watch the planes come and go out of the 10th floor window of this office. It's definitely a popular place as it is usually crowded (especially with grade-school kids after school hours), but the staff works to make sure that everything is run efficiently without sacrificing politeness. I was referred to Dr. Baum from my dentist in order to correct some crowding in my lower teeth and I am definitely pleased with the results and the care that Dr. Baum provided. I actually wore invisalign and he worked with me to achieve the smile I wanted and not some preset set of teeth that looked like they belonged to someone else. The process does take years, but it was worth it. The best part was that they developed a billing arrangement that worked for me (after insurance of course), and didn't break the bank. read more

Dr. Baum has been my orthodontist for about 3 years. After having braces as a teenager, I found that after neglecting to wear my retainers my teeth were more crooked than ever. Dr. Baum recommened using Baum Orthodontic Aligners. I thought invisalign was the only option for me, and I was relieved to find out I was wrong. With Invisalign, the dentist adheres brackets to your teeth to hold the retainers in place. I wanted the freedom to take out my retainers and not have big bumps on my teeth. The Baum Orthodontic Aligners not do use the brackets, which for me was the biggest selling point. Also, Dr. Baum is ALWAYS on time and very efficient with his appointments. I have 3 small children who came with me on almost every visit. We were in and out of the office in no time, and I didn't feel uncomfortable bringing my kiddos with me. I now have super straight teeth and plan on using Dr. Baum for the entire family. Thank you!!! read more

Stay away. This place is a factory and Dr Gary Baum is not only annoying with his whiny voice and passive aggressive demeanor, he's nothing more than a factory foreman. Just wait - he will give you the "bunny" talk - how your child has teeth that are easy to fix, like a bunny. 16 months it should take. 19 months later and there's no end in site. He is way too expensive and as other reviewers noted, he's in it for the money so it takes way too long. Also, you'll never see him again after the first visit. Literally never. And everything will be your fault when you finally speak up - but as he and his tech staff NEVER communicate you don't know all the things you are supposedly doing wrong. Which is why your simple-to- fix child's teeth suddenly take not 16 months but 27 months. The office staff is very nice but Dr Baum is sooooo unpleasant. At my initial consultation I let Dr. Bradley Baum know that I loved my smile and that I always receive compliments on my teeth... I was there for my bottom teeth only , what my dentist called limited treatment option. My upper teeth were great and my bite was perfect (according to Dr. Baum too). We proceeded with aligners. At each subsequent visit I told him and his staff that the uppers are so tight they hurt more than the bottoms" that "I feel like my teeth are getting pinched" and "I was very concerned". After my fourth visit I really felt something was wrong as Dr. Baum ignored my concerns and he wanted (his words) "I want to crank it up, you should come in every 3 weeks from now on" (this of course means more $ in a year)I soon felt something was really wrong and decided not to wear the uppers anymore thats when I noticed THE HORRIBLE CHANGE TO MY FACE, MY TEETH AND MY SMILE :( My upper teeth had moved back, they were pinched and swayed and my pouty upper lip was no more although the bottoms hadn't changed too much... I've stopped wearing my aligners and pray my smile comes back. I PERSONALLY THINK DR. BAUM ACTS ONLY TO GET $$$ out of his patients and HE DOESN"T CARE about their concerns the longer the treatment the more $$$ he makes.
