I spoke with someone named Grace, who initially tried to send me back to Bay Area Legal Aid. I explained multiple times that I had already tried. There are at least eight different numbers that all reroute to the same line, and they do not accept walk-ins. You have to complete a phone intake first. I even went in person and was told the same thing. Grace acted like she genuinely cared. She walked me through steps to take and told me that if it didn't work, I should call her back and she would help me. I followed every step she gave me and kept her updated throughout January. By February, it took three separate attempts before she finally returned my calls. When she did, her tone was completely different. She was dismissive and told me they had more important clients to attend to. Then she referred me right back to Bay Area Legal Aid. The same place I had already explained I could not get through to. I felt upset and heartbroken. Why give someone hope and spend weeks telling them what to do if you had no real intention of helping? I made it clear that I had no other point of contact, which is why I had been reaching out consistently, but she said there was nothing she could do and referred me somewhere else again. This experience was frustrating, time consuming, and discouraging. I would not recommend this organization to anyone seeking real help or follow-through.

Through these trying times, Camille provided excellent advice, was responsive, and kept me on track through the entire process. Camille has very direct but easy going manner that gave me confidence she could manage my needs and emotions, though we never met face to face. She is on point, prepared, and sticks to schedules. There is a lot to be said for entrusting someone with your life situation-ship and never having met them in person. This was the unfortunate life conditions of the lockdown COVID pandemic...Camille is truly unique in this manner.

Because it was uncontested and my ex and I had already worked everything out between ourselves she informed us of a route that would be much cheaper, which we followed and which worked out smoothly. I was impressed by her honesty in that, as well as her compassion and professionalism. It was obvious that she knows the ins and outs of her work very well, and is a pleasure to deal with. I have since reached out to ask about her services for another matter, and while she doesn't offer those services, she took the time to provide some resources that were quite helpful. I've recommended her to a couple of family friends, and if I was in the market for her services she would be my first choice!

My wife physically assaulted me while on a court-ordered a EPO and then abducted my children the week before Christmas for a month. Bob spent four hours during Christmas Day with me laying out everything I would need to know and he was later proved to be 100% accurate on every single word that came out of his mouth. Bob is truly a nice guy. I don't think he'll ever retire because he loves what he does and he provides such a strong value to the local families who urgently need his expertise navigating the challenging family court situation often for the first time. I tried to find an attorney several days before Christmas and the entire industry was out of service until the second week of January. I believe my wife took my children that week specifically to make it very challenging for me, but Bob stepped up and saved the day in a huge way. I could ramble on for hours about how Bob and Carolyn are consummate professionals, and how they changed my perspective on family lawyers. Bob and Carolyn secured 50% parental access for me within three weeks. The opposing firm told my wife to run away with our kids after removing them from the home and was using every tactic in the book, but Bob played hardball in the most professional way during the most important time in my entire life. He stepped up like an athlete during the Olympics and I forever will love Bob.

It took a while but thanks to Carolyn's persistence we were finally able to get the matter resolved. Without her efforts I would never have been joined to my ex-wife's pension because the divorce was 28 years ago and the original court's order was not carried out due to pre-digital record keeping snafus. I'm also very grateful to Bob for helping me navigate through a very challenging time in my marriage. He is extraordinarily responsive and knowledgeable and I recommend him and Carolyn to anyone contemplating a divorce or other family law matter.

Back in 2022, I had a very bad experience with Amada when they had an office in Albany, CA. I asked…read morefor help in filing for custody of my child and decided not to go with a lawyer since the other parent was in agreement to give me full custody. I was a college student at the time, so financial resources were very scarce, but I needed help filing to take time off my hands so I could focus on school. She was very enthusiastic about taking my case and said she helped other parents before so she was fairly confident in the way she expressed her expertise. I paid $1,500 for her to help me fill out the documents and file the fee in the Hayward Court. She said that the fee is larger because the filing fee is around $500, but she also applied for the fee waiver (which was approved because at the time I was low income) so I'm assuming the full $1,500 fee was her take-home amount. She wasn't transparent about that though. I did sign the fee waiver, but chose not to address it since I just wanted to forego the headache of having to drive to the Hayward Court to file documents while I was in college. She was also the recipient address of all the court documents, so the least she could do was inform me if I had a court date to attend to for the custody hearing. After paying the fee, she gave me an update when it was filed. Lo and behold, I hadn't been receiving any updates from her for a few weeks. I was curious and looked at the Court website to see if there was a court date set - and like a movie I saw that the custody hearing for my child's case was THE NEXT DAY. Again, didn't receive any communication for her for a few weeks. She said she would contact me if there was an update. Also, if you didn't know anything about custody hearings, no-shows mean by default you give rights to the other parent in attendance. I immediately contacted her and said that the court date is already set for tomorrow and why she didn't let me know, since she's the person receiving the information and that the least she could do was inform me of the court date since she also didn't forward me any mail that she received about my case. I told her I was disappointed and I didn't even receive an acknowledgement that she made a mistake. She just said "I'm sorry you feel that way". And then after that, she forwarded all the mail she received to me AFTER I discovered the court date by myself. It's been years since this occurred, and just thinking about the fact that I could have lost custody of my son due to a non-communicative, incompetent person that I paid $1,500 to help me file and update me on court matters still makes me panic every time I think about it.
