Tx to the many of individuals, Staff and sponsors who serve there and Volunteers for this 2025 international monumental event. They each get 5 stars. Police, Military, Army Golden Parachute Jumpers , Troopers , Security, First Aid including a Mother's station and the great transportation people, (tx Suzanne) restaurants and kind people making things work. Maps both physical and QRs. Beautiful well kept grass and a crew keeping the place clean. Bravo to Citi Bank for their golf activities- Put Put and Vertual - phone Charger stations, a real Bar, places to sit and AC and photo shot spot. Thumbs up to the hard working volunteers at Delaware Patillon Restaurant C-9 , so many diligently work behind the scenes and runners to put lunch foods and drinks out for the many visitor's coming to this event.( see pix)

I've only been here once, a few weeks ago, to run in a socially distanced Turkey Trot 5K. It was more of a trail run which offered some nice views and terrain to run on. Plenty of paths to run or bicycle on. Trail running seems to be big here with many routes through the wooded areas. Can't say much more since I left after I got my finisher medal and went home. It was Thanksgiving and I had to get ready to feast!

Todays visit to the Community Center in Syosset Woodbury Park had an Hour long Holiday Magic…read morepresentation by the Silver Songbirds. ( see pix) For those who might be using a GPS be aware once entering the park to make aright turn and follow to the back parking lot where the Center is. The group was lead by Susan Lilli's - Conductor & Narrator. They sang a variety of holiday songs and did a few skits, also handing out candy canes to the audience. "Nancy" played the drum for " Little drummer boy". They ended with "Auld Lang Syne wishing the audience good holidays and Happy New Year. In the back there were a few snacks for the sharing. The building itself has some children's decor, a display of wall tiles and a little Christmas tree in the hall.

Hi Your park is beautiful but…read moreI was at the field for the first time yesterday and will be back as my grandson is playing in the HOT STOVE baseball league. Your field by the refreshment stands and the bathroom needs ALOT of work. The dirt was blowing all over in the wind as the dirt is so dry and has not been watered. Dirt needs to be harrowed and watered and taken care of . There are huge wholes in the batters box and catchers position that need to be filled in and harrowed and flattened down. We live very close to this park and use it often to get our little girl out for some excercise…read more This review is for the playground area only and until she get old enough to use other parts of the park including the fields, this will still be a favorite for us due to its proximity to home and the cleanliness of the facilities. We come at least once a week to play with other kids her age and she always has a great time. Seems to be a family park with so many toddlers running about. The jungle gyms are separated by age category and the swings all are in good working order. A rubber floor mat ensures that the children won't hurt themselves during the inevitable falls they encounter. The much larger section of the park contains the playing fields for soccer and field hockey- when we grow a little more, we will update our review to tell you about the meticulous fields we see on the other side of the fence.... Can't wait for a night game or two under the lights.

The park includes two synthetic athletic fields, a practice area, and a playground for little ones and a nice parking lot. It's a great open area for kids to get all their boisterous energy out and adults too. It conveniently connects to Froehlich preserve as well. There's an interesting statue put there in memory of a Lloyd Harbor girl killed by a drunk driver in Texas in 2005. She was 13 years old and had been active in the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club. The Mohlenhoff Nursery property was slated to become a bus depot and repair yard for the South Huntington School District but thanks to dedicated and caring residents and a tireless effort by the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club, they got the land through its Open Space Preservation Program. I'm not sure how it all unfolded exactly but it's a nice park and a good union with the Froehlich preserve. Hopefully neither will ever be destroyed.

It is managed by the Nassau County Parks & Recreation Department. On the drive from Brooklyn I read the very interesting and historic story of the property, which certainly peaks one's interest. The site contains evidence of a Pre-Revolutionary War farm. The ruins of a mansion once owned by King Zog of Albania are still visible at the end of a trail. Rumors of Albania's treasures, hidden by King Zog add to the mystery. I read of skeletal remains that still remain a murder mystery. Plus, down one trail there are glacial remains. What a package, all within one nature preserve! We chose the trail entrance which is directly adjacent to the Chelsea Mansion entrance. At the beginning of the trails was a small shack, which must have been the office. It wasn't occupied on Christmas Day. There were no rest rooms visible. What was available were maps of the trails, which we tried to acclimate ourselves to. We chose what was hoped to be the main trail. I had read that it was swampy. And swampy it was. The trail was muddy in certain areas. There were obvious remnants of a recent horse ride. So my childhood knowledge of roaming in the woods was put to good use. I held onto tree branches and vines to stay off the mud, etc. Rain or farmers boots would definitely be beneficial. The swampy woodland was frozen over. My Grandson loved stopping to skip rocks over the ice. He was certain he could break the ice with larger rocks. But no matter how long he tried, that didn't happen. My son decided we had taken the wrong trail. So we went back to the beginning. They took the other trail while I waited behind. The Nature Preserve closes at 4:30. So they were only able to get to the Glacial remains, which turned out to be a rock formation. Muttontown Preserve definitely requires a return visit, starting earlier in the day. The combination of nature, history and mystery paints an appealing picture.

Make sure to bring water, bug repellent and a face mask with you. Small parking lot so if you want an early start...we were able to find parking for 2 cars shortly before 10am on a weekday. Follow the path once you start to not get lost.. there are several hiking paths and a bike path. We took Long Island Greenbelt Trail - followed the green markers all the way. There is a section that runs by the LIRR and a section by the streets where you have to cross the road to continue the path. I would not have known if my friends had not been here for sure! We passed the tree branch "arch", walked across the street to continue hiking (I believe it was Syosset/Woodbury), saw parts of an old vehicle left behind, followed steps to where we could hear and see the LIRR railroad and train (stay off the tracks!), walked under the overpass, came to a wooden bridge, to the open field which we walked all the way around and headed back.. Good idea of keeping track of these as land markers to help get us back... I for one would have totally be lost in the woods! There is cellular service reception... Please pay attention to the warning signs about feral cats and beware of ticks...don't litter, stay on the trail, stay have and have a great time! As you leave, don't forget to check for ticks and shake it off!

A bicycle trail which is paved and is also used by walker and runners. There is a dirt bike path complete with ruts and hills and parallel to that is a dirt hiking trail that is marked with white blaze marks on the trees you can follow. The entire complex while about 20 miles long is only about a 1/4 mile wide so even if you get off trail you will soon reach civilization. The trails are well maintained by the State or the Towns depending on location. Parking available at some trail heads and Bethpage Stat Park. Best of all it is all free.
