I bought a rather expensive Bosch battery just over 3 years ago as it had a good warranty. Tayna…read moredelivered it the next day. The battery started playing up two months ago with slow cranking and not starting the car. I had to jump start it a lot. I had the electrics checked out and bought a second hand battery from a scrap yard. This second hand battery didn't fail me and still hasn't. I performed all of the home tests with the Bosch battery as Tayna suggested (including removing it from the car and trickle charging it). It worked for a day and then failed again. Tayna wanted me to return it. This cost £20, no fault was found and it was returned to me. A week later I installed the Bosch battery. It started my 2009 diesel s-max straight away. I took it for a 40 minute drive, parked for 10 minutes and came home. It started OK again. The next day I did a 10 minute journey. I was parked for 5 minutes (getting diesel) and the car started, but struggled to turn over. I drove home in 10 minutes and left the car until the next morning. The next day it would not start at all. I used a jump pack and it started. I did an hour journey and parked for the day. When I went to start the car, I needed to use my jump pack again. I took the battery out and put in the second hand battery back in. I had no more problems starting ever since. I invested in another charger and trickle charged the Bosch battery. It did the same as before, worked for a couple of times and died... Back went in the second hand battery with no problems. I am now at a loss. I have already spent £20 for you to say that the battery is fine. I'll use a local motor factors in future

My daughter went for an MOT and her car failed with over £1,500 of immediate work needed (new brake…read morediscs rear £266, new rear silencer £1,317) and an additional over £1000 of repair as soon as possible and advisory fixes including spark plugs for £198 LOL. So my advice to her was get out of there as quickly as possible and book in at a reputable garage. She did this 2 days later and with no work done her car passed with no issue apart from an advisory to monitor 2 tyres. Amazing that! You know what I think? 1: The car fairy worked its magic and fixed everything, 2: The highly rated garage she took it to on best advice for a 2nd look are in fact incredibly incompetent and will pass a matchbox on button wheels or 3: Halfords staff should wear pirate costumes and fly a jolly Rodger flag from a flagpole on the forecourt. Avoid this place or pay a very dear price indeed. Oh and on a quick note they made sure to charge her for Full service done immediately prior to failing her car on a mot, what garage does a service prior to mot??

The indicators worked perfectly before he took the car in for an MOT & service, then they didn't work upon its return. Little did they know my granddad used to be a mechanic himself! The mechanics had removed the fuse causing the indicators to no longer work!!! They tried to get him to purchase a new indicator stalk to "fix" it, then of course it still wasn't fixed, so they wanted him to pay an auto-electrification to "fix" it. Instead my granddad took a look at it himself and discovered the fuse missing. I will be taking this further!! You will not get away with this behavior! DO NOT GO HERE!!
