On 11/16 I returned a battery under warranty exchange ($300 value) which i already tested and knew…read morewas bad. When i took the battery in, it was tested (tested bad). Then i was told it needed to charge for a hour to verify it will not hold a charge. Not a problem. The employee took my number and gave me a yellow tag dated the 16th. I was told i would get a phone call with the results and process the warranty exchange if needed. I never received a phone call. On 11/19 i returned to the store and asked about the battery (yellow tag says i have 7 days to claim battery or it's considered abandoned) being well within the 7 days, the employees could not find the battery. Then i was told "i don't know what to tell you". His name may be eric based on the receipt. I asked for the manager, Joe. I retrieved the correct replacement battery from the shelf and waited at the front register for joe. Joe arrived and i explained the issue to Joe. Joe could also not find the battery, so ultimately decided he needed to do a warranty exchange to protect oreillys from civil liability due to misplacing property that was not theirs. While Joe was processing the exchange, he confirmed to me that charging a battery was not part of their normal battery testing process and confirmed the 7 days to claim the battery was the correct company policy. Eric should be fired for incompetence. Joe should be the one to do it.
