I purchased a battery about a year ago. It failed me multiple times and I called AAA. I took the failed battery to them for replacement three different times. There was always a reason they could not replace the battery under warranty every time.. The last time they said it could not be replaced because it was too discharged. Not sure why that was my problem. I will never give that business not one more cent of my money.. I purchased a new battery from O'Reillys. Under the same 36 month warranty and that is the only place I will be purchasing future batteries from. read more

Batteries plus bulbs is not the place to go for a battery I purchased a battery at the Greensboro NC location that was bad showing 100cca and not the 400cca as advertised took the battery back and they blamed me for the battery wouldn't replace or refund my money the manager was supposed to call me for a resolution and still haven't heard from him they don't honor their warranty at all blame the customer and take your money I highly recommend going elsewhere for a battery or make sure they test it at the store or you're going to be out of luck Antonio the clerk was no help at all beware of this company they don't stand by their products read more

I still use my iPhone 7 Plus. Yes, I know it's old but it still works fine. My only issue was the battery would randomly lose all its charge. I searched online and found this location that would provide a new battery for $59.99. That is WAY less expensive than a new phone! If you make your appointment online, you get a $10 coupon, which they applied automatically. When I arrived, Doug Evans checked out my phone to make sure it was in good working condition. I asked about the installation fee and he said that installation was included. INCLUDED?! Wahoooo! Doug explained that I didn't need to allow anymore iOS updates, as the newer updates were geared to newer tech and things my phone didn't have. That means my phone would constantly look in the background, for ways to add the new tech, causing battery depletion. He was so diplomatic, he could've said YOUR PHONE IS TOO OLD. LOL. I was told the battery replacement would take about an hour. We were still in the parking lot and he dashed out to tell me the battery was out of stock but they should have it after 12:00 and would call me. In fairness to them, I made the appointment after hours on Monday, for Tuesday at 9:00am. He was very apologetic and really that's all I need when there's a snafu. I didn't get the call until after 4:00 and I opted to wait until Wednesday, due to traffic. On Wed., they told me one hour and it was less than that. All in all, I was VERY happy with their service. All this for less than $54 bucks! I would definitely use this location again and we will probably get our next car and lawnmower battery there too. Go online and check them out. They have a lot more than average batteries and average lightbulbs. read more

I had 2 computer repair places and Apple tell me that it was BATTERIES PLUS' FAULT- they left screws and the plate flying around in my phone for months- finally the metal fried my phone- and when I went in to let them know- they said I had to pay for ANOTHER screen to even be considered/ DO NOT waist your money. Should have read reviews before going in here. Took my iPhone 6 for shattered screen. Worked fine with zero battery problems before repair. Since repair there is a light coming through on top left of my phone, like a tiny lightbulb shining all the time, AND i literally have to charge my phone all day b/c the battery wears down after maybe 30 minutes of slight use. I wasn't really attune, just chalked it up to well that's what I get for not being more careful with my phone. Until, like a dummy had my son's iPhone SE repaired for major screen breakage. It no longer responds to touch, is extremely laggy and just basically now stinks as a phone even to text. $200 later I can only pray the Apple Store will be able to fix our issues. STAY AWAY! If you expect a warranty for anything you buy or have repaired there, BUYER BEWARE!! If you need a repair for an iPhone, turn around and go to the Apple Store. Yes it costs a little more but they will warranty their repair. These people will not! Here's why. I took my son's iPhone in to repair a screen that was not responding to touch. They had a price to repair it that was a little less than Apple Store so I decided to give it a try. They said they had to do a test to see if they could offer a warranty. How could it possibly pass their test as it would not respond to touch and that was item I was asking them to repair. But after the repair, the it did respond to touch perfectly and they could test it again at that point and it would pass their test. But 2 months later, the screen became non-responsive again. I spoke to the manager this morning about fixing it without cost and he told me he would not do that as it did not pass the test done before the repair. This policy is insane and it preys on those who can least afford it like my son who looked for a lesser expensive option to repair his broken phone. read more

I went back to the store after 7 business days because I was expecting a phone call within 3-5 business days of ordering (and paying) for a new car fob. Side note: I thought my car fob needed a new battery and the replacement I purchased there seemingly did not fix the problem but (miracle of miracles) the fob worked flawlessly when I got home. Bought a car battery from these rip-off artists in November of 2017. Brought it back dead February 2018. They wouldn't replace it under warranty because it came back under 10 volts and wouldn't charge. I informed them that that was why I brought it back. I was informed that the battery was "abused" because it was allowed to discharge below 10 volts. I asked why anyone would bring back a working battery under warranty? They offered to sell me another battery 10 dollars off... I left and brought the battery to Walmart for the core and bought a battery there with a three year guarantee no questions asked. I took a flashlight to Batteries Plus in Burlington NC, which is located near the license plate agency. Once inside I stopped a worker who was engaged in conversation with another worker. It was obvious I was interrupting his conversation (unknown subject). I showed him my flashlight. I said "I need a bulb and batteries for this". And showed him the light. He turned to walk away saying "we only have bulbs in kits for Maglites". And kept walking away. This idiot could have sold me "C" batteries. But he missed that part in my original question. Never offered. Then I asked if he had spare, loose bulbs I could try. Now he was visibly annoyed. "No. Only Maglite kits!" I asked why the name Batteries Plus? He whipped hid head around. No comment. I said "I guess I'll go to Walmart". His response? "Knock yourself out". And walked away. This was witnessed by the other "employee". This moron is short, dark hair. Incident occurred June 28 or 29. I opened it today and found that the converter cannot be used with a hair dryer. I called back and spoke with the manager, Ryan. He said that he would not take the product back since I had opened the package. I explained that I could not tell that the product would not meet my needs until I opened it and read the print inside. She got a battery from them the battery worked for a while and stopped working. It was a car key. Called the store to inform them and they only said come into the store umm how im locked out. Had to get a locksmith to get me into the car. Upon arriving at the store i was informed that even tho the incorrevt battery was place in the key i would not be reimbursed for the locksmith charge. Sometimes I really wonder if these businesses want to have any earnings or customers? I don't write reviews often but this time I have to. Today I was looking for a place to test and possibly change the car battery and the closest one at the time was Batteries Plus. The guy who works inside (I didn't catch his name on the tag) was totally uninterested in going outside and testing the battery in my car and when I asked how much it costs and whether they install if I buy a battery from them, he answered that he has to clean the terminals on my car because he can't read the voltage or whatever (he later tried to clean it unsuccessfully) even though I was in the auto shop a few minutes before, where they read all the possible data without any problems and suggested that I change the battery (which unfortunately they didn't have in stock) ). For the installation he replied that one of the cables was damaged and that if it broke it would immediately stop the installation ???, and in the end when I said I would look elsewhere he just closed the hood and went back to the store. Without any further desire to keep the customer, to perhaps offer a solution, to apologize for not being able to help me or anything like that. I was willing to spend some $ 150-200 for a new battery but I won't spend a cent there or go there again. read more

I gave them 2 stars because I gave them lots of good business in the past, but I will never shop there again. My car clicker needs a replacement battery every year or so - the case is very hard to open and close. So I happily pay them $8 to install a battery. This last one died in less than a month. I asked why and the reply was, "well, do you use it a lot?" Duh? I said every day, like everyone else. So, it must be my fault for overuse and I should drive less often, or replace my battery 12 times a year. No price break + no customer service (with an attitude) = no more business ever. On 4/24/20, my wife bought a battery for a Power Wheels Dune Racer (Invoice# P26156678). She was not told the battery was used/blemished, but out-of-the-box the battery was obviously used due to grime and multiple scuff marks. I charged the battery per the manufacturer specifications. Following the charge, the battery provided virtually no power and the Power Wheels operated for less than 1 minute. Our daughter was extremely disappointed, after waiting through many hours of charging, that her Power Wheels would not work. My wife called on Monday, April 27 to report the defective battery and was in effect told she was wrong because the employee with the red beard was adamant that he tested the battery and it was fine. However, she was told that a new battery would be available on Wednesday, April 29 and that they would call her. The call never came. Yesterday evening, during the coronavirus outbreak (risking my health over $74.71), I stood in line at this store with battery and receipt in-hand to get a refund. To my absolute dismay, I was told that I could not return the battery because it was used and moments later, another excuse for no return/refund - the same guy with the red beard said that he tested the battery and it registered 12 volts last Friday and that it now registers 8 volts and that refunds are not given due to this voltage (the word "volt" appears nowhere on the BatteriesPlus website Return Policy or Warranty Policy). After more than 40 years of life, this is the first time I have been essentially been accused of stealing by being told I am not returning the same battery that was sold to my wife 1 week prior. This store's operation is as crooked as a bag of snakes and is a prime example of why people choose Amazon over local. read more

Don't bother trying to shop local with this store. I researched the price of a cell phone battery on the company website. I got the price, and confirmed via the site that the item was in stock. After a 16 mile drive to the store, I was informed by the clerk that the actual price was $4 higher than what the website stated, and that the prices on the website were for online orders only. The website itself says nothing at all about prices being higher in the store. Do yourself a favor and find whatever you need elsewhere. Terrible customer service! I purchased a battery for my pallet jack and was informed at purchase they would buy back my old battery any condition as long as it looked like a battery. Well it was a different story when I returned with old battery which was leaking acid. They would not take it back and when I explained what I was told they still refused to take battery even when I didn't want the $18 for a return battery. The battleground store #180 is the worst! They sold me a defective battery and made it my fault on (6-27-20 return on 7-5-20) .Like others before me they said since I used it (less than 2 weeks within the policy period ) that it was my fault. I just wanted a working battery. They took it over night and said come back the next day only to give me the run around with the manger Mr. Johnson after they told me that it would be replace if it did not charge. It was clear none of the people who work there know batteries or electricity. Its clearly retail without knowledge. I reached out to customer service and it was even worse. I only came because I could not wait on amazon. Now as I write this review I see that my story is not unique. This is a bad franchise and this is a prime example of why brick and mortar is going away. Deserves no stars. Took my phone in for a screen and battery replacement. As soon as I walked in, the workers tried to tell me to come back the next day for the repair as it would take too long to fix,and his shift was almost over (after I was called by the store and was asked rescheduled my appointment to avoid this issue), after about an hour I was told the screen replacement was not possible and they would have to put the old screen back on, but they would still charge me a $55 service fee. When I got my phone back, the screen no longer worked but I was told that "my phone was given back to me in the same condition I took it in", when I told him about the screen not working he said he could open it up and try to fix it, but he didn't want to stay at the store another half hour. 11/10 would NEVER recommend and regret ever stepping foot in this place. read more

My daughter brought her I phone 6 in for a screen repair. When we picked it up and she got it home she noticed light was coming through the seams of the phone. We took it back in and the Manager said yes they had reports of "kits" being damaged and they would fix it. We picked it up 2 days later and left the store before checking it. 10 minutes down the road (on our way to a trip) the camera wouldn't work and the phone wouldn't work. I called the Manager immediately to report and said we could not bring it now, due to an out-of-town trip. When we brought the phone back, they could not fix it and said they had to send it to headquarters. At HQ they said there was water damage (not found by the store manager) and wanted us to pay $40 for a diagnostic test. I maintained I shouldn't have to pay and would like to speak to the owner. Owner refused to call me, refused to pay (because he has already lost money). (He owns several Battery Plus stores in the area). I maintain that his employees are not properly trained hence I had to have it repaired twice. The story ends by me picking the phone up after having to call to ask for status (never called by them saying it is ready) and my daughter paid $150!! (plus the price of the original screen repair).
