My wife is a Russian national. We've been working with immigration attorney, Laurel Herndon, at…read morethis office for several years. SHE IS THE BEST! Laurel knows the immigration system inside and out. She knows all the little nuances and details of this complex system, and she provided an incredible amount of helpful advice. She provided assistance over and above just legal advice. When we were preparing for our interview with USCIS she helped ease our minds and even gave me advice on how to dress. Before engaging Laurel's services we had purchased non-refundable international airline tickets. Laurel informed us that since my wife was not a permanent resident she could be refused re-entry into the US. In an act that was definitely above and beyond the call of duty Laurel wrote a two-page letter to the airline describing our innocent mistake and explaining why we could not use the tickets. The airline refunded our money - over $1000. Before starting with the Immigrant Legal Center we shopped around for private immigration attorneys. They all charge an arm and a leg. This place charges $40 a visit - $40! You won't find a better lawyer, and she charges $40. The reason its fees are so low is because Immigrant Legal Center is a non-profit. It raises funds from donors and grants, and the immigrants who use the service benefit from this. THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST!

If you want a green card don't go here. The Immigrant services are for people who are here ( maybe…read moreillegally?) and need help legally for other things, but not for people who want to get a green card. I know 2 families who have come here for help. One was a married couple , she was an American citizen and he was from another country, They had gone through all the proper channels before coming here and had been married for years. When they came to this center, they said her husband had broken the law, and was supposed to go back to his country for a couple years while his wife worked here ( they even suggested IBM!) Fortunately they had friends who steered them to the right people and he had his green card in less than 6 months- (who told them they HAD done everything right).Thank goodness they didn't take Immigrant Legal Center's advice or he would still be out of the country. Another family I know came here legally and with all their paperwork and whoever they talked to told them to go elsewhere for their green cards- at least she was helpful. I have no other experiences with this place, but I fear some people have given up on getting a green card after going here because the advice was so inaccurate, negative, and very discouraging. They need to change their name to illegal Immigrant Legal Center and stick with their skill set, or otherwise learn the laws. A list of actual lawyers who can help get a green card might be something they provide too.

While my situation was a protracted and frustrating experience, as soon as I enlisted Graham Fuller…read moreand the Stone&Rosen team, the stress and frustration dissipated. I went for more than 2 years of banging my head trying to get the other party to even talk at the table. After hiring Graham, we were at the negotiating table in less than 3 months. While I had hoped to never need these services, I would recommend Graham to anyone who may be in a similar dispute with an uncooperative, uncommunicative party. The proof is in the results. My claim is 100% settled and it wouldn't be without Graham's attention.

I hired David to draft a premarital agreement and found the experience deeply disappointing and…read moreshockingly unprofessional. From our first conversations, he approached me with a paternalistic, combative tone -- less interested in helping me meet my goals than in enforcing a rigid "process" on his terms. He repeatedly implied I didn't understand what I was asking for, openly criticized me for discussing the agreement with my fiancée, and claimed that no competent attorney would agree to our timeline. That turned out to be completely untrue. Both my fiancée's attorney and the attorney I ultimately hired were not only comfortable with the timeline, but also took a far more collaborative and respectful approach -- encouraging open dialogue about our shared goals. David ultimately quit -- but not before sending a series of passive-aggressive emails and repeatedly undermining my judgment. If you're looking for a lawyer who listens, collaborates, and treats you like an adult, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
