I was pleased with the welcoming customer service I received during my visit to BR Succulent. I went in on a mission to purchase a plant for a pot I already had and the staff walked me through their selections. They provided me with all types of tips about the positioning of my indoor plants regarding direct and indirect light and more. The decor in the shop is breathtaking and while their speciality is plants, there is a large selection of pots, handmade wall hanging, wreaths, notepads and personalized cards that all make cute gifts for friends and family. I was so pleased that they potted my new plant for me and even drilled a hole in the bottom of my pot for drainage. It was such a pleasant visit and I can't wait to return soon! read more

Nice selection of succulents. You enter and in the front room are the air plants. Many selections. There was a beautiful groping of pray plants. The girl gave instructions on how to care for the plants. If you like macrame, this is definitely the place for you. Many different macrame pieces hanging on the walls. When I went outside, I found what I was looking for, the hens and chicks succulents. They were healthier specimens than I normally see for sale. read more

So, this a cute shop that's bit out there in BR, but it's trendy and brimming with unique and fun plants. But...I feel similarly to a review below that the service is quite....disappointing. I'm no Poison Ivy when it comes to plants, but I'm slightly knowledgeable and have grown to really love learning more about this plant hobby of mine. With that being said, I will go ahead and second what someone else said and that's that the vibe of the people there seems to be kind of off. I've been here in person a few times now and each time I've definitely felt like they were snooty. I've asked questions about items seen on their Instagram, inquired about how to aid a struggling plant, and each time it seems like the person is annoyed by you. This is odd to me considering their online presence seems to portray them as quite the opposite. I had $100 worth of plants in my online cart, (thanks to some bday money) and sent a quick message inquiring about a few things I wanted to add and I was left on "seen" and never answered. LOL like okkkk then, I guess that's a way to make your customers feel dumb and unwelcome. Whoever runs their social media spends the day uploading photo after photo, video after video, poll after poll, but does not reply to customer messages, which feels very disappointing to say the least. They very much focus on curating their image with very little substance beyond that. I quickly deleted everything in my cart (sad because they had some plants I'd be hunting for for awhile) and just decided I'd find these from somewhere else. At first I chalked it up to an odd day, but considering I've noticed a pattern time after time, it seems that maybe this is just how they are. I really wish some of these local spots would value their service more, because aesthetics aren't everything if icky attitudes are inside. :/. read more

This is a brand new succulent store here in Baton Rouge. Finally a store that specialize in cactis and succulents !!! Lol The inventory is still new, therefore there aren't a lot of options to pick from yet. When you first walk in, there are small and medium sized succulents in beautiful pots, hanging from glass vases, and beautiful air plants displays. They have a wide variety of potteries in different beautiful shapes, sizes and colors! I did find the pots a bit on the expensive side, but was told some are handmade. The variety of plants were at average prices compared to other local nurseries. If you are confused on which succulents to purchase, or have any question on how to take care of them, don't be afraid to ask. Danielle and Roz are super helpful! I love how they also have a few books on display for purchase. If you also need fertilizer, they also have individual small bags for purchase. With summer around the corner I am sure there will be abundant of options to pick from soon. These are perfect gifts for friends and family! I bought 4 plants from curbside and the process was really simple. The prices are higher than a nursery but I didn't mind because the plants seemed quality. It's also a beautiful space. However, this is not a 5 star review because my $30 English Ivy was given to me with a big spider mite infestation. I know English Ivy is notorious for spider mites, but I wish they would've checked before selling for $30. The mites spread to my other houseplants and the ivy died a month later. Unfortunately, they have not reached out to me to make this right or acknowledged this despite my reviews, phone call, and Facebook message. :( read more

I'm new to the world of plants, so a friend of mine suggested starting with succulents. My friend and I went here to buy some plants, and I love it! We decided to also go back for one of the monthly classes, Macrame & Mimosas. We got to make our own macrame, and we got to choose a plant and pot for it. Plus there was champagne and snacks! I'd definitely recommend attending one of the monthly classes if you have the chance. Roz is very friendly, and she can help you with any information about the plants that you may need. It's easy to get carried away in the store because there are so many cute pots and great plants. This is where I learned about air plants and bought a few for myself. I hope to be able to attend one of the succulent workshops in the future to learn even more about succulents and how to plant them. read more

Just popped in for a minute an hour before they closed. The girl working was really sweet and knowledgeable . She gave us a lot of helpful info on potting, watering and placement. They're a smaller store but their prices are super reasonable especially for the harder to find plants they are selling. Their plants are also heathy and well maintained.
