The prices are not "steals' but if you're a Beauty Therapist like my friend, you get special savings. Additionally, they often discount products and place them on a table by the window opposite to Lovers Lane. Hair Products are for Lovers! Bleach is for the ego-centric! Yay! When I was in the States, I used to use Queen Helene Mint Julip Products on a tip from my talent agent friend Melanie. (I had to name drop, couldn't resist). I figured she would know as she had beautiful skin. Sally is the only place around that stocks Queen Helene. Sally Beauty Supply is a good place to come for the higher end shampoo and beauty products or if you dye hair (your own or someone elses). I wish they had the Matrix line, but it's definately a good place to have a look around and get some Mint Julip!

Maybe it depends on who you are, but I find that as soon as you walk in, staff are watching you like a hawk, and not in the "hi there, I'd totally love to help!" kind of way. I've seen workers be really snarky to some customers, and the atmosphere has me wanting to buy and get out as quickly as I can. So, staff get a 1 and the store itself, 4/5. Together, Shaba, you've been rolled down to a 3 star place to go when I need to get my hair on point.

There is a ladies hair salon to the back of the shop and a small nail bar to the front as you enter. Unfortunately, the shop staff can come across as a little hostile and you may get the feeling of being watched or followed, which I think may be due to having a history of shop theft. Nevertheless, they are helpful when approached and owner's a friendly guy :)

The reason I came into Chudy's which specialises in Black hair products is because I have used a protein rinses before on my hair when it has become stressed out in the winter and dry. I find that some of the deep conditioning products intended for Black hair really do the trick. I guess if you use a relaxer you need the best conditioner around. The man at Chudy's was extremely helpful and asked my loads of questions before showing me loads of conditioners and explaining the best bits about each. The prices here are mid range and the Nexus products they sell are quite expensive (up to 15 for a large bottle). Some of the Black hair products are less expensive and a good conditioner will run you no more than 7 pounds. This shop also sells quite a large selection of wigs and fake hair pieces. If my conditioner doesn't do the job..who knows?

My hair is long and thick and it's always a lengthy, exhausting process to cut & dye it. Charu was exceptional. She took such good care of my hair and dyed it very well which is hard to say about a lot of other hairdressers. She also washed, cut, thinned, blowdried and straightened my hair fantastically. I am very happy with the outcome of my hair and will definitely be making Haria's Hair & Beauty my permanent salon.

If you have a chance to go I recommend you try the brush concealer from this brand, it's amazing, it lights your face with triple wattage power! The service is as in the other stores, impeccable, and the decoration fab. For Christmas try and go for the candles they make great gifts and don't break the piggyback. Try the Dyptique line or even the Space NK, which is a little cheaper but still smells like heaven.
