Despite the freezing temperatures outside the hotel was warm and inviting. Large spacious rooms with full central heating, many with views over the city. Spotlessly clean. More expensive than some in the area but otherwise hard to fault. Would happily return if visiting Bath again.

We stayed for 3 nights for $670 PROS: -Clean and spacious room, we booked the standard twin room. -Comfortable beds and pillows -Friendly and helpful host Monika and Nina? -Amazing breakfast! The British Breakfast is huge, and the Salmon and Scrambled Eggs has a generous portion of smoked salmon. -Walking distance to all the Bath attractions, restaurants and shopping. CONS: -Bathroom shower stall was very small, and the doors didn't quite close all the way. -As with almost all B&Bs and Guest houses, no parking, only paid public parking at the nearby Charlotte Car Park. This can be complicated if you have heavy luggage and/or its raining. Pro tip, you can covertly cut through 3 Crescent's side door and backyard to shorten walking distances. -Room #1 where we stayed is the very top floor, an attic converted into a room. It was early June, and it got very warm up here during the days. The 4 sky windows opened up nicely to let in cool fresh air, but this top floor definitely needs an air conditioning for the peak summer months. Leaving the windows open at night is too loud, and a bird might fly in. I reckon the other lower floor rooms would be fine during summer, and this room is perfectly fine during fall, winter, and spring. Great place overall, but avoid Room #1 during hot summers.

And yet, for $230 a night, checked into this dank, dark box that would give young Mister Potter's cupboard under the stairs a run for its money. One meager lamp that would barely shine any light on the space, and incredibly poor ventilation. Also, the hotel claims to offer secure luggage storage for guests and yet I returned to find an unattended lobby and guests' belongings just out in the open for anyone to grab or tamper with. When raising concerns with hotel, verbally and in writing, they offered nothing but slight platitudes and defensive rhetoric. Zero mindfulness of customer service. In short, avoid. Bath has much better to offer.

Great location in historical house by Pulteney Bridge…read more We stayed in a suite for a couple nights. The suite had two bedrooms, which was nice for a family, but being a Georgian house, there were quirks. The floors were very uneven, to the point that I would feel vertiginous walking around. The bathroom had uneven water pressure where the temperature fluctuated wildly, and there was not enough counter space for 4 people. There was a nice sitting room but definitely not enough closet space. However, the location is so lovely. It's about a block from the Pulteney Bridge and also a block from a full sized Waitrose. It's a short walk to the train station, Bath Abbey, and the Roman Baths. Staff is friendly and generally competent. The front desk staff was a little confused and slow, and, while the rooms were generally clean, I don't advise that guests look under the beds or behind the furniture, as those are very dusty (ick). I love that they leave biscuits to go with tea daily and that they actually replenish everything on a daily basis. Those biscuits were life savers for my jetlagged children whose stomachs were not yet on UK time. I contacted the hotel a couple times before we arrived. They were not able to help with arranging for a babysitter (they told me to Google "Bath" and "babysitter"), but they did give me good information about a wheelchair rental for my husband. I would consider returning here on a future visit.

My major gripe was with the receptionist staff - they were pretty snipey and unfriendly. But not a full 5 stars because when my brother and I drove into the carpark of this hotel, realized there were a limited number of parking spaces, and were super lucky to get the last spot. The parking is a bit awkward and just not enough spaces for the number of hotel rooms! Also you have to make sure to register your car license plate number when checking in at reception so you don't get a fine/ or your car towed away. The gal at reception who checked us in was super friendly and if you are a Hilton Gold member, you get free breakfast, but you have to let them know when checking in, so that your room number is on the list. I really liked the design of the bathroom- it's a tiny space, but really well thought out and it didn't feel cramped. The design included a super ingenious shower mechanism whereby the shower door swung inside! Also good quality loo paper was used! The bed was a delight - firm and comfortable. But my friend who was traveling along complained it was too hard for him, so guess that's individual tastes. Breakfast was a treat! They had menu items I had never seen before on a Hilton breakfast menu. One option was Kippers which my brother and I tried out and split. It was basically a very omega rich fish in lemon and butter. The other option was a hot smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on a brioche bun. Gosh - I received a massive helping of this and while tasty, just couldn't finish off the plate! You get a lot of food (& protein) if you decided to get this breakfast menu option. I also really liked the waffles! Loved that the waffle design had the Hilton logo. Staff at reception were great-provided us with map and excellent directions on how to head to the Bristol City center via the Temple Church and Gardens, which are located right behind this hotel. Check-out was smooth and overall really enjoyed the stay at this Hotel. Yelp 168/ 2019

A quick one, or at least an attempt at a quick one…read more I have to preface this by saying I don't really thin I'm a B&B type of person... I generally rent a flat somewhere if away for the weekend because you can often find one for about the same price as a hotel and I like having the freedom to have a late breakfast, have your own fridge, etc. That said, I did enjoy my stay here... it has a great front garden, two accommodating and friendly owners, a great library, and a breakfast that can put you under it's so massive! The place itself is a 15 minute straight shot (literally) into the city centre, and not a bad walk at all pending the weather... coming back it's more uphill, but not so extreme you couldn't do it if you wanted however. If you like quirky places, and like the idea of a B&B, then I would say definitely give this place a go if the picture I've posted are intriguing... there's stuff to look at all over the place here, if items could talk I'm sure there would be lots of stories to tell. The library is a particular highlight if you're a reader... this isn't your normal B&B or hotel selection, there are all kinds of treasures waiting to be looked at and you can find yourself just lingering in the library room itself. The garden was fantastic... a nice green space looking towards a church with a fountain by the entrance, my kinda place! I'm quite curious as to how summer is here, there was a bench but I wonder if you could have properly have tea outside, etc., they certainly have the space for it. The breakfast was HUGE and far better than what you would get at a hotel, absolutely no contest there. I don't know how it would compare to other B&Bs, but the other guests were quite impressed so I imagine favourably. (After our first breakfast we actually and to downsize from the full english the second day, it was that big... but again, cooked really well.) Your cereals, juice, yoghurt, etc., were also on offer as well as fresh brewed proper tea which needed a strainer to catch the leaves. (The coffee also looked a cut above.) Another highlight are the marmalades made onsite from trees in their garden... a real treat to go with the toast. The only downside for me I think would apply to most B&Bs really... I felt I had to be extra quiet (I'm a night owl by nature) and I enjoy having my own fridge to store a few Diet Cokes in, etc. That said, major points for having a small fan in the room without me having to request it, although I don't know how much this helps in the Summer of course. The built in awkwardness of a B&B is why I have to give 4 stars personally, but for any B&B aficionados I can see this being a 5 star place... I would say check the pictures I uploaded this weekend and if it has piqued your interest it would be worth giving a go if in the area.
