Compared to our Bangor dog park, this place is a mansion. Working water spigots, benches, green space and room to run, what more can a dog and dog owner ask for? If your dog has had enough socialization, there's a great walking/biking trail that will loop around the park. The Town of Brunswick really did a great job planning and maintaining this space! Around 6pm on a Thursday, I had the pen to myself for quite some time. After some locals stopped in, they told me that this was not typical as it fills up during the after-work hours. I will be back again tonight to test his theory. The big dog pen (25+ lbs) is first and the small dog pen is beyond it from the parking lot.

Huge wooden boardwalk on the Kennebec with a trail. Wooded trail that extends beyond the boardwalk along the river and railroad tracks. Great place to walk dogs and have them swim in the river. The trail goes for a mile or less. There are gnome homes and fairy houses along the trail. It is really cool. Fantasy like. It is so wooded and magical right along the Kennebec river. Awesome little adventure. Great for kids.

Robin's Garden and Dog Park is a much-needed space for pups in Androscoggin County--one of the few…read morededicated dog parks around, so it's definitely appreciated by local dog owners. Located conveniently on Strawberry Ave next to the Emergency Vet and SPCA, it's easy to find and has a good-sized area for dogs to stretch their legs. The park is split into large and small dog sections, but in practice, that division isn't always followed, so it's worth keeping an eye out depending on your dog's comfort level. The space is big enough for off-leash zoomies while still being small enough to keep your dog in view. They do provide poop bags, though the supply can be hit or miss--best to bring your own just in case. Also, be warned after rainstorms--the park gets muddy fast. A towel for the ride home might be a smart call. Overall, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done. A great resource if you're nearby, though a bit of a trek if you're coming from outside Lewiston.

I definitely recommend wearing appropriate shoes and clothing especially until you know what kind of plants and wildlife are out here. There are two trails one says it's handicap accessible the other which I took is definitely not and it is not for anyone with any kind of difficulty walking. Cool little creeks let the dogs playing not too deep this time of year maybe 6 inches to a foot in most places. Definitely a good off leash area not too many people here in fact you could go an entire walk without seeing anyone so I'm good for quiet time to think or chat on the phone well you hang out with your favorite canine companion. Maybe was to wear bug spray won't know till tomorrow if I'm covered in mosquito bites but no sound of flies just little tickles here in there.. I was a little worried about getting lost at first but to the road that you can hear the sound of cars although not so close that you have to worry about your dog running into traffic. What I like the most about it is that it's actually a good hike and good exercise and it's different than the other dog parks and it's more a hiking trail that you can bring your dog and allow it off leash then it is an actual dog park. Also make sure you bring your own bags and water if needed. And most of all have fun

This trail is part of the South Portland Land Trust's West End project. The trail head itself is…read morelocated to the right side of the Home Depot parking lot by the stone wall. You will see the kiosk. Part of the trail is paved and you will be able to go around the Home Depot building. There is a short dirt trail that is marked as handicap accessible and only goes a short distance in to the woods and there are benches to sit and look out over the water on either side. You can follow the smaller path down to the water. If you follow the paved trail to the right you will come to the dirt trail that skirts the pond. This is packed dirt and there are stairs and tree roots. The trail is becoming more and more popular. Expect to see people walking dogs here off leash. This trail connects to the Red Brook Trail as well that goes behind Sappi. We have seen many herons, ducks, an owl and what look like fox dens. There are signs of beavers, but we have not seen any. This is a great walk while being on the heart of a busy area of South Portland. Depending on the path you take, this is approximately 2 miles long. *As a side note: there are some "camps" in this area and we have come across some transients and homeless in this area. As always, take safety precautions for trail walking.

Even after doing my research, though, I did not know fully realize that the 40-acre Hinckley Park in South Portland was FOR dogs. Like, it's not just a trail that dogs are allowed on, which is what I assumed. It's a straight up dog park where leashes aren't required, and apparently neither is picking up after your canine friend. So, if you don't mind the occasional poo pile or the incredibly frequent dog interaction (read: being sniffed in awkward places, being jumped on, being growled at, or being rubbed on after a pup has taken a swim in the muddy water) then maybe this spot isn't for you. Which is too bad, because it really does offer very nice, relatively short walking paths - all very level and accessible to all kinds of walking abilities. There's also plenty of bird call, flowers, a tiny waterfall, two ponds fed Kimball Brook that you can apparently fish at, wooden bridges to cross them, etc. And did I mention lots...and lots...and lots...and lots of dogs. So, as a human: I probably will never come here again. But, if I were a dog: YES, PLEASE. Let's go for a double-u aye ell kay here EVERYDAY.

Both canine and human. Now if u and your dog are the out doorsy, fit fanatical types.. This is the place for you. Choices of trails. An amazing pond for the pups to swim in. I hear there is a second pond too. I did not find just a lazy enclosed off leash area (although all trails are off leash) which is why i knocked off a star. Its gorgeous too. If u can walk a 1/4 mile and ur pup can do its a must visit.

We usually come in the late afternoon and there are always friends for him to play with. It is probably a tad smaller than a football field and it right next to the street, but it is grassy in most areas and does have trees. It is completely fenced in and it right next door to a community garden that is managed the members of the community. I think there is a working water pump, but I've always brought my own bottle of water for my dog and my own poop bags but I think there are bags there for people to use. People have always been friendly here. There is a parking lot here and street parking, so that is not an issue.
