We stumbled upon the place by accident, but were happy that we did. Staff (person) in the shop (I imagine the owner...because how many people could possibly be working there), was very pleasant and the vibe of the shop is inviting. If there is any negative, it would be that it was hard deciding which flavor / scent to purchase. We liked many of them and was hard to eliminate. In the end, we went with Sunday Brunch (the scent). I'll be back to get some more gifts for sure. Honestly, I don't know how many stars to give a candle shop, but I can't find any negatives, so they get them all. Go get that gift for that hard-to-get-for-person. They'll be impressed that you put some thought into it (and you can say you picked out the scent based specifically on them, they'll think you are thoughtful). :-)

To our surprise, the store was also having a sidewalk sale. I spent quite a bit of time outside carefully smelling the candle selections and deciding which scents I planned to purchase. Once inside, my friend and I continued browsing and admiring the store's inventory. Unfortunately, throughout our visit, the clerk never acknowledged either of us. She barely looked up when we entered, did not greet us, and made no effort to engage with us despite there being no other customers in the store. I asked my friend afterward if she had been greeted separately, and she confirmed she had not. At that moment, I decided I would not be placing the candle order I had been considering for my daughter's wedding favors. The candles themselves are wonderful, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Customer service and basic courtesy matter, especially in a small business setting. During our time shopping in downtown Easton, every other store we visited warmly greeted us. Sadly, that was not the case here. Because of this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

You have an option to have them drillout parr of the top candle wick area and use three candle with a small LED light. This option illuminates the whole candle with a nice glow. Although tempting to do, we opted to keep it the way it was made. They packed it in a small box with those styrofoam peanuts so it wouldn't get damaged, which was a nice touch. So you like a good Yankee Candle? But, you hate their…read moreprices? And you of course don't have one of their BOGO coupons available at the moment? Sounds like a plan as to a limited extent I feel the same way. I live a little less than an hour away from Lehighton so while far, a trip to the Blue Mountain home office is not impossible looking for a cheaper alternative. As a point of context a typical Yankee Candle large jar is twenty four ounces with a burn time of 110-150 hours at a standard sticker price of $27.99. At Blue Mountain their large jars are listed at lasting 125-150 hours for a sticker price of $15.99. Of course the rub is that the scent from a BM candle is nowhere near as potent as one from Yankee. Sorry, but that is fact. But BM does have a ton of scents available and while not every scent is good (who the hell is buying the fresh cut grass candle?) the choices they offer easily rival Yankee. If you go for a visit to the home office in Lehighton a few things are noteworthy: 1. The hours on the door of the building list them as opening at 10am and their website lists directions to the store but no hours which is bizarre but they do open at 9am on weekdays. 2. The store has an entrance door on both sides of the building but the parking lot on the east side of the building is a little rough with pot holes so watch yourself lest you loose a tire or destroy your suspension. 3. Seemingly there is little to no heat in the building so if you are there on a cold day it doesn't feel all that different in the store as opposed to what it feels like outside. 4. Candles are not the only thing sold at the store as they also offer various country home decor items that while I suppose are nice, to me they would only be interesting to my grandmother. If you can't get to the store and live in the area chances are eventually you will come across a school age member of your family selling BM candles as they are big into school fundraising. Now I realize that not everyone can get their hands on something from Blue Mountain Candle with it being in Lehighton but if you can it's a decent alternative to Yankee until the next time they offer a BOGO coupon.
