I got 2 clearance items at the "buy one at marked price and get the other for $1 sale - a Deathstroke wallet and a lovely scented candle. The employees were so nice and helpful and it seemed like if someone was helping you, that person was your team member, because the same girl found me again just to make sure I was okay and when I was checking out they asked who had helped me. The girl at the register was also very nice and we talked Overwatch for a bit! It's great having nice employees at the helm of a fandom related store. I felt welcomed and I felt at home there. (could use a bit more superhero merch, but I think a few of the shelvings may rotate over seasons etc) And the concept? Oh my god, it couldn't be better! To give a portion of proceeds to feed the homeless is amazing. I'll have to take a look and see how they're doing it and see if there's other ways to help. Love love LOVE this place!

Nobody said a word to me. No "Hi" or "Can I help you" nothing. I walked around. I stopped at a few items for a closer look. But, with no concern for me, why would I want to spend money there? I was excited for a new store to open. Liked the idea behind it. Quite the let down. Wouldn't be surprised if it closes soon. Because, the two ladies that were there could care less about helping anyone. Unfortunately, the idea behind the store, where a portion of what is purchased goes towards feeding the homeless, (Found that out on the website) will suffer with these two at the helm. (Could be a good selling point for employees to greet you and tell you about the company's goal.) The Homeless will stay hungry with them working there. Sorry, honest opinion. There were a couple of other guys in there, and sadly, I think they were being trained by the two that were there. Might consider some close supervision and a little remedial training for those employees.

I guess employees don't want customers using them . This place used to be a 7/11 and it was good. 7/11 should have never pulled out and sold to quick track. Don't bother going there. Maaike Hurst's mission: to hire and support victims of domestic violence. Just women. Sorry, not…read moresorry, she says. I'll get to the soaps and the rest in a minute, I just feel like I need to add something to the conversation. Hurst has been around the block, including a long stint in Washington state where she worked as a financial advisor. She'll tell you, if you ask, about some of the women she connected to, desperate to escape domestic abuse, but unable to speak or act due to threat of financial ruin. In this era of #MeToo, it's important to recognize that, for many women, probably the majority of the victimized, the risk of coming forward is far, far too real. The threat of poverty, particularly in the poorest state of the union, is literally life or death. So that's where she's hoping to make a difference, and her soaps and body products are the salve. As it happens, her products are terrific; she's all about softening, soothing, giving your body that buttah, baby. One or two drops of her body butter had my hands rejoicing all day. Delightful bath bombs. Terrific local art from, yeah, a pretty powerful woman. All in a space about the size of a big walk-in closet, hand-crafted and easy to warm up to, much like Maaike herself. The very first time I spoke with this woman I enjoyed her, and you'll enjoy spending a little more for better products that support a critical cause.
