As the years keeping adding on (almost 55), I realized I needed ways to maintain (ok, I have to…read moreregain) balance and flexibility. Martial Artistry has been my key to assist in achieving those goals. I tried numerous gyms, but would quickly get bored - same equipment, same routine. But at Martial Artistry, there is always something new to learn, and goals to work toward. I love the class format, wonderful instructors that provide encouragement and help. Sifu does an incredible job of instructing, motivating and encouraging in a superbly professional manner. While I am a student with more age than the average student, the program is structured so that all can advance and achieve at the level desired, in a very organized, fun environment. It is fun for me to watch the kids class and see the enthusiasm, self discipline and physical training they are developing - what great skills to cultivate at young ages. I look forward to many years of training at Martial Artistry - helping me to maintain and improve my health, flexibility, balance, self discipline, and enjoyment of staying active, while learning the beautiful art of Kung Fu. I recommend Martial Artistry to anyone wanting to participate in an activity that promotes physical activity, conditioning and encompasses the wonderful art of Kung fu teaching respect for self, others and personal growth. We asked her if she was interested in trying out a class and she said she was, however when we got there she refused to participate. After watching the class having a lot of fun she insisted that she wanted to return. We returned but she continued to refuse to participate - the staff was incredibly patient with her and let us visit a few classes without fee. I just decided to sign my daughter up and continue to encourage her to participate and with their incredible patience and continuous encouragement she finally relented. She is now nearing completion of her yellow belt at the age of 4. She loves the Tiny Tigers program and enjoys getting to accomplish different goals (other than the different color belts) - they have good habit worksheets that they complete each week (doing chores, being respectful at home, completing school work), stars for homework they complete, and other such incentives. The instruction is great and there are helpers in the class that assist the instructor in helping those kiddos that may be struggling or that are new. It is also nice because the kids must practice at home so it pushes the parents to really take an active role in learning the moves and helping your kid see that they have to work hard beyond the time they are actually in the class. The environment is very structured and the focus is on helping kids learn to follow instruction, work towards a goal, and self control. Each month they focus on different life values such as self control, respect, honestly, integrity, and honor. The instructor always asks the kids how their day is going and allows some time to just talk with them casually before class begins. We've had nothing but a great experience at this ATA location and just think every one here is fantastic. Thank you Ms. Dalida, Mr. Dalida, Ms. Strange and Ms. Robinson for helping our little one gain a strong sense of self confidence!!

It's a really fantastic show and it delineates the various age groups and activities that practice disciplines during the rest of the year. And it's a blast to take a toddler: dancing monkeys, a dashing dragon, bounding lions with enormous eyelashes and snapping jaws, that's entertainment, folks. I also managed to sneak in the front door the day prior, there's a lot going on in there. Gift shop, a hall with mirrors, from an architectural and interior design perspective it felt very eastern: covered in bright hues, every inch of the space honored. Even for the novice, this place is well worth a visit. Thanks for letting us in on the celebration, CCC.

Save your money…read more Had the full PK treatment in 2017 and saw absolutely no improvements. None. Nada. Zip. Could've slept at home for a week and gotten the same effect. Were my expectations too high? No - I did a 2 week Ayurvedic treatment in India in 2002 and it was a life-changing improvement in sinus congestion and "brain fog", which required 2-3 cups of strong coffee daily. Unfortunately, the improvements went away over time - completely my fault for not following their recommended lifestyle changes (reduce dairy, etc.). Fast forward to 2017. Took some time between projects as my health had started to deteriorate. My mom had benefited from Dr. Lad's colleague, Dr. David Fowley (who wasn't practicing much in his old age), so I tried Dr. Lad instead. The house I shared with fellow patients for a week seemed run down, but clean. No worries since I was there to improve my health, not lounge at a 5-star hotel (the facility in India was far worse). Dr. Lad seemed very nice and empathetic, but you only get 30-45 minutes with him. His medical assistant (can't remember her name) seemed very rushed and told me I should be grateful for that extra 15 minutes with Dr. Lad. Really? I'm a paying customer, not a charity case! She was incorrect in her statement that there's no viral issue (went to a real doctor to confirm). She had none of Dr. Lad's empathy, and coupled with an inaccurate diagnosis, would definitely not recommend. The staff doing the PK treatment were very nice, but the treatment itself had no benefit. They kept suggesting adding more treatments (extra $), which felt nice, but again, no medical improvement. If you want a spa experience, go to an actual spa. If you want medical benefits, go somewhere else. Good luck in your journey!

I was invited by a friend, who is a big fan of Vasant Lad, and says that he is the teacher of Deepak Chopra. There's apparently a film about him at the Guild at the time of this writing. What I don't know about Ayurveda could fill their bookstore (and probably does), but Vasant Lad is a great speaker, clearly highly knowledgeable, and kept it interesting, while being cautious not to describe Ayurveda as a magic bullet that we should all practice like authorities on our neighbors. The only slightly negative vibe I had was when he was determining the "doshas" of audience members, and then suggesting they were this, that, or the other thing ("Oh! You always fall asleep with a book!"). That part struck me as a little psychic-like. Ayurveda has a lot of basis to it, but at the same time I think that people like that psychic-who-am-I kind of thing and so he was offering that, but I found his lecture topics linking aspects to the science that I was more familiar with, to be more of interest. They had a brochure that I perused at the beginning, that requested please no photos, bare shoulders, open beverages, or children. All four of these things I saw in evidence, but people were trying to be respectful. The one heads up I would give, is that at least at the first talk, you needed to remove your shoes. The people at the Institute define nice. They served tea, and snacks, and they came up to you with authentic smiles and greetings, genuinely trying to be helpful and informative. I came away intrigued, having had a good time, and wondering if I wanted to pursue some course of study with them. Or at the very least, adopt some good, easy lifestyle habits that would probably make me a much happier, healthier human.
