In recent years a brave and determined team have slowly been working on making this once what it was ...... a great Brewery .... using all local produce, labor and talent. I arrived here using Google map references ...... it was mid week .... mid afternoon ..... never really expecting to try any beers at all ....... what happened made my day ....... a generous guy gave me a personal tour ....... it was quick but was fun as we saw old fashioned machinery mixed with modern bits and pieces. Beer tasting would have pushed this very new friendship over the edge ..... instead I opted to buy a mixed dozen of their current brews ....... I couldn't stop smiling ..... The chef even came out to the table to assist my friend with ordering gluten free options. I haven't had their beer which I know is odd being that it's a brewery but it just wasn't that sort of afternoon when I visited. Instead we ordered wine and food. The food was a step up from pub food for sure! They had various selections of tacos, fish, burgers, chicken schnitzel, salads, pies, etc. I saw quite a few entrees being served and they all looked fresh and good presentation. My friend tried the tacos and I tried the chicken schnitzel. The schnitzel was a decent size portion, the fries were nice and crisp, the salad was gorgeous with big chunks of spinach and not overly done with the dressing. I will definitely stop in again. The Owner Craig was at the door when we walked in, he told us he'd moved up from Melbourne, and had been running clubs like Lazybones for years. He said "If it's not underground, I'm not interested" I liked his Moxie, and I had to concur. The hipster scene seems finally on it's knees with the clientele here being an over 30s crowd. I admit, I felt very relaxed. I even saw a member of a well known Sydney rock band here. If you want to stay ahead of the game? Say Hello to sophisticated class! Lazybones you're doing it right. $10 on the door gets you entry. Wine and Beer are priced reasonably, cocktails at $18 seemed a little pricey, but it looked like top shelf liquor. The menu, while I didnt try it, featured "Bunny Chow" with pick your own topping for around $12 as I recall. There were also Samosas and curries. It's very loud on a Friday night, Adults only. Good for date night or a chilled out trip into sin alley.
