I don't hunt, fish, boat, or do anything in the woods (and neither does my hubby). As a matter of fact, I don't do anything that requires getting dirty... I hate to be dirty. But... this is a really cool store. Hubby and I both love coming to this store to look around and kill time. My gosh, there's just so much to look at. It's so easy to kill a couple of hours looking around. If you can think of an item you'd like to own with camo on it, this is your place. They have just about anything you can think of with camo. I wanted a new Mag light and hubby got me one here - yep, it's a camo Mag light. LOL It's a good thing I don't go in the woods because if I did and happened to drop it at night with it turned off, I'd probably never find the darn thing. This place is just so huge. Two whole floors of huge. They have escalators and there's also an elevator for those in wheelchairs, etc. The fish tank is really cool. Make sure to stop and have a look at it. They sell those wonderful flavoured fresh toasted almonds here. Sometimes we'll pop in this store just to grab some of those. I noticed upstairs they have an area where you can practice your bow shooting at (is it called bow shooting?). Not sure of the price to practice, but it's cool they have that area here. One of these days I would like to get into archery; I had a chance to shoot at a festival one time and have been interested ever since. Maybe one of these days when hubby and I have the extra money we'll pick that up as a hobby. But we still won't go into the woods to do it... as I mentioned, we don't do the woods. We also don't kill things. We eat meat, don't get me wrong.... we'd just rather someone else do the killing of the animal for us and we're perfectly happy to pick the meat up all nicely packaged at the grocery store. Employees here are super friendly and super helpful. They are all smiles and they really know this store. If you ask where an item is, they'll know right where to find it. Well, it's a Bass Pro Shop. You know what you're getting when you walk in, because they're pretty much all the same, except for the types of fish they have in their giant aquariums. This place is massive. They have departments and a full restaurant on the second floor. The glass elevators and the fresh water aquarium with love fish was enough for me to give it a four star rating. But, the staff members were truly helpful, cheerful, and very knowledgable with all things outdoors. This store is HUGE!!!!!! OMGGGG!!! The Bass Pro in Vegas is nothing compared to this store. I know that the Bass Pro's in the South are massive. I was so shocked when I saw that they have "Uncle Buck's Restaurant" inside!!! WOW!!! All you can eat shrimp buffet too! Sadly, I was with one of my hosts and she doesn't like shrimp (insert eye roll here). Anyway, overall I enjoyed this store very much. I loved the camping section and aquarium. read more

BIG PLACE good for if your bored and need to just walk around.

The exit from the interstate is well-marked, and the signage leading you to the store is well-placed. The parking lot is spacious, with PLENTY of room for oversized vehicles or towed items. This particular Bass Pro location is located just east of Jackson MS, almost mid-way on my first day's drive to my camping zone in West Texas, so it makes a perfect, 'stretch the legs', mid-trip stop. The restrooms are easy to find, there's stairs to climb (to shake off the Road 'Zzzzzzz's'), and plenty of items run the fingers through as you peruse the store. The site offers a restaurant behind the fishing lure section on the first floor (opens at 10 a/m), offering basic hi-way grubb. Nothing special, but in a different atmo than found in the usual burger-hut. (Watching the fish quietly swim about in the huge aquarium is almost 'too' relaxing, however!) You'll find 'most all the usual outdoorsy items, sorta a Cabela's Lite in the outdoor trade, so if you find that there's something left behind on the kitchen table, you can probably find a decent replacement at this location at a reasonable price. I've mentioned the stairs, and I must mention there are two large, well-lighted elevators accessing the second level, should any of your party need this function. It's a good place to stop and relax and let the kids (or spouse) burn some energy before continuing the trek eastward or westward toward your destination. read more

After ordering a grill online, it was delivered to my home bent and beat to pieces. I returned the grill only to have to order a replacement online with ship to store as the delivery option. Was told 8-9 days and my grill would be ready for pickup. After 10 business days I called and was on hold for an hour, then told by one lady Sunday my grill should be there, and then called by the pearl store and was told at 10 my grill would be ready for pickup on Sunday. I get there and there is no grill. I live an hour and half away from the store and was promised a grill ready by Father's Day and here it is Father's Day and no grill. No one cares. I'm still awaiting email responses from my first grill order. I will not be spending any more money with bass pro after I Finally receive my grill or my money back. They have ruined Father's Day this year. read more

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE STRANDED IN THE WATER DO NOT GET YOUR BOAT SERVICED HERE!!!! We brought our boat in to get serviced and checked before we went out of town on a weekend fishing trip, after a week of having the boat, we were told that they changed the oil and that we needed a new battery charger which we OKed and we were good to go. So, long story short and 350.00 later we went on our fishing trip just 3 days after being serviced. Once the boat was in the water the motor would not start. (Again just had it "serviced" 3 days prior.) After several attempts of trying to start the motor I called Bass Pro and was assured by the service manager that they would not have let us have our boat if the motor was not in working condition. They said it may be bad gas etc....but we would need to bring it back in to see. We took our boat to another reputable mechanic and was told that fuel was not getting to the motor and that the fuel cell needed to be replaced..the boat is NOW fixed!!! read more

Had a great time in the store shopping......Restaurant is terrible....2nd time in there....today, we sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for a server.....I finally had to go to the bar to order us a drink.... another 15 before anyone came over.....was not busy either.... more than enough servers in there that this should not have happened... read more
