Came here to shop a few times during our 8-night stay in town. We've known the shop from other…read morevisits before. It's a mid-sized shop with everything you might need. Good wine selection, fruits and veggies. Also fresh fish, seafood and meat counter. We bought some nice Bottarga, lots of canned tuna and anchovies. Seafood broth. Fresh chicken and beef. Veggies and salad. Some milk and soda. Also needed a cookie box - and found it here. Quality was good, prices are fair. You pay at the cashier (cash or card) or you can you the convenient self-checkout. Accepts even small coins or also cards. The shop might look a bit dark and dated inside, but it was a good shopping experience and we've found everything we've needed.

It's the one with the baby in the circle if you happen to be a water snob like me. It's a challenge to find decent tasting bottled water throughout Italy. So much of the bottled water tastes odd, even if the tap water is fine to drink. I was told by a reliable American that the best water thus far had been in Firenze, and the worst was in Venezia. At any rate, it's better than SoCal water which I won't touch. I can't help it that I was always spoiled with good water my whole life! Anyway, they had tons of my water here, all for--get this--30 cents for a big bottle. No wonder the Italians complain about the prices of our drinks! That's how they should be priced. I didn't even get a chance to check out the wine and cheese but I was happy. The self serve check out was faster than SoCal, too which is why this has to be a four!

Italy is dotted with handy little shops like Enogastronomia Ardito. They have all the basics; good…read morelocally grown fruit and vegetables, a select number of high quality cheeses, fresh bread, home made pesto, a few salamis, fresh pastas, local wine, etc, basically everything you need to eat well on a day to day basis. Their hours seem to be a bit up in the air, but if you're in downtown Portofino and need a place to pick up groceries, Enogastronomia Ardito is a solid spot.

The girl was very sweet and wrapped them and placed them in a bag. I left the store and walked about 10m when the plastic bag split along the seem and a 23€ bottle of wine smashed to the ground. I returned the store with damaged goods, and the girl said she should have put them in separate bags. She wrapped another bottle and put them in separate bags. When I thanked her and went to leave she asked for another 23€. I don't throw good money after bad..:and I don't support businesses that don't fix their mistakes.
