I normally do not order for delivery & I will continue to do so which I found to be the best option but because I was too tired to drive I ordered for delivery. Everything was good but it would have been better had I went to the location to order myself rather than had it delivered, not everything is meant to be delivered & this is one of them.

The confirmation email for my order with the cancellation details circled.

In all my years as a Baskin-Robbins customer, THIS location needs to be permanently SHUT DOWN! Context: I called this location to cancel a cake order I no longer needed. The policy listed on the confirmation email states and I quote: "*To cancel or modify your order, please directly call the selected pickup location no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time." So I call 72 hours in advance to cancel and was told by the employee on the phone that she wasn't able to help me because her manage wasn't there at the store and hasn't been for 2 days. Red flag #1. Then she asks me if I would like her to call her manager and ask him and then call me back. I agreed and in less than 10 minutes she calls me back and says since the cake has already been made, they cannot cancel the order. Red flag #2. If the CORPORATE EMAIL states what Baskin-Robbins policy is, they as a franchise still need to honor that. So I asked her for her managers name and the number for corporate in which she tells me she can't give out that information. Red Flag #3. Now here is the part of the story as to WHY this location needs to be shut down and the manager should be FIRED. After this phone call with the employee, I find the telephone # to corporate. I explain my grievance to the customer service agent who proceeds to file a claim with me to investigate the matter. I requested an email documenting this claim which I received 5 minutes after getting off the phone with them. All of a sudden, I receive a call from an unknown # and something told me to answer it even though I don't answer callers I don't know. When I answered, it was the manager of the Baskin-Robbins giving me a call in regards to my order. I explained to him that I needed to cancel and that's when the call took a turn for the worst... He began telling me (calmly at first) that my order can't be canceled because it was already made. I calmly explained to him that I was told this by his staff, however the policy states that I have before 48 hours to do so. He then continues to repeat the same thing he just said over and over, telling me it can't be cancelled. I told him that I contacted corporate and filed a claim in regards to this and that's when his TRUE colors started to show. He then began to aggressively yell and raise his voice telling me that I can call corporate and that there is nothing they can do because they are an independently owned and operated store. He then quickly tells me I won't be getting a refund for my order. At this point I'm still level headed, but he is clearly agitated because I won't accept this cake. He then proceeds to start SCREAMING about what is he going to do with the cake over and over again and it got so bad I put the call on speaker phone for my mother to hear who was sitting in the room with me. He sounded more like a 5 year old having a temper tantrum than a person in a position of leadership. Finally when he was done being verbally aggressive, I kindly asked what his name was. That is when there was a brief pause on the phone and he proceeds to say "this conversation is over!" and hangs up. Never in my life have I EVER received such customer service from a business's MANAGEMENT team! They are supposed to be trained to keep their composure and have conflict resolution skills. This person blatantly called to badger me into accepting an order I no longer needed. Once he hung up, I IMMEDIATELY called corporate back and this time filed a complaint. I won't be bullied nor disrespected over a cake! I will NEVER step foot inside that location and honestly from reading the reviews, I should have placed this order with another location which I regret. All I know is that this matter could have been easily resolved, but the manager wants to be greedy and hold on to every little penny - even if it goes against Baskin-Robbins's own policy. Do yourself a favor folks and steer clear of this location, especially if you place a cake order. It's not worth the headache or harassment.

This is the worst store to order your cakes from. I ordered two of the simplest cakes a week ahead and called the ya before to confirm my pick up for the cakes which was at 1:30pm and when I arrived the cakes weren't even started yet, I was told to return 20 minutes later and so I did just to be told that only 1 cake had been done but the other one was still pending the lady in the back was clueless about the second cake in my order so I have to wait more time point is I got my cake till 3:40 !!! Screw this place and everyone who works there.

    Pralines N Cream Waffle Cone
    Sal M.

My friend and I were in need of ice cream and since the 110 north from Torrance to LA was loco we took the streets to find our dessert fix. Seems to be new in a new shopping center but along Slauson Avenue. Once we were inside we were ordering in no time. Friendly young staff taking all the orders made the line move fast. The store temperature was a bit stuffy but better then being outside. Went with a chocolate nut covered waffle cone with Praline's & Cream and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The waffle cone was ok but the chocolate wasn't the best tasting and the waffle had a cinnamon after taste. Of course their ice cream flavors are always outstanding. Scoops were a generous size in a huge waffle cone. Stop by and have a taste.

    One worker

They did not have all 31 flavors they say they should have. This is outrageous!!! They have 1 worker out in the floor helping the guest. Y'all need help ASAP. Worker passed by and did not say "excuse me" just walked in front of me and my pregnant sister!!

Just sad it's way too hot for this slow service

Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

So we decided to come here for coffee or tea and ended up having a really nice time. I used to come here quite often about four years ago. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

The barista was super helpful with explaining what each drink was, didn't steer us in any direction though. The Houjicha shaved ice was the standout. Houjicha is a toasted green tea, and the flavor is a little difficult to describe--it has a warm, grainy, almost wheat-like taste that's very different from traditional green tea. At first, it can seem like an unusual flavor, but don't give up on it. Once you add the syrup they serve on the side and keep eating, it really grows on you. It somehow gets better with every bite, and before you know it, you can't stop eating it. The Iced Brown Sugar Miso Latte wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for, but it was still well made. It had a nice balance of umami and sweetness without either flavor overpowering the other. While it wasn't my personal favorite, I'd still recommend it if you're looking to try something a little different. Overall, Anko is a great spot if you're looking for unique Japanese-inspired desserts and drinks in a calm, beautifully designed space.
