Came here after getting a flat on the Bentley. The staff were curteous and polite and did a great job sourcing the specialist whitewall tire needed. I decided to hang around whilst they changed the tire and bounce some ideas for my new production, The Illusionist. Whilst the musical is set among 19th century Vienna's bourgeoisie elite and not in an MOT centre in Basingstoke I could see a lot of similiarties between Craig, my tire technician and Eisenheim, the show's protagonist. Both are magicians of sorts (to me, the changing of a tire is akin to sorcery) and both find themselves trapped in precarious love triangles (Craig told me that he had found himself involved with a married woman and that the husband had found out and threatened to - in Craig's words - kick his f**king head in). I'll be spit-balling with Chris and Bruno to try and fit details from Craig's colourful story into the show so watch this space! read more
