We've been with Basima for many years and I can honestly say she feels like part of our family. Both of my kids went there (at different times), and the children genuinely enjoy their time with her. One of the things I appreciate most is that the food is always fresh and homemade. I know my kids are eating healthy meals, which is a huge relief as a parent. The communication is also fantastic -- I get texts, photos, and updates throughout the day so I never feel out of the loop. My son started going to Basima's Daycare at 3 months, it's has been a year already and we highly recommend her care to future children. As a first time mom who had to go back to work, it was difficult to find an in home daycare that you can trust and accepted infants. I was lucky enough to have found Basima through Yelp, requested a tour and she was very prompt in responding and had a same day tour! My son has had a great experience attending the daycare and even our pediatrician noticed he has developed many milestones and has grown into a social and happy baby. We also appreciate the constant communication from Basima and Rhea throughout the day, sending photos and videos of their activities, communicating how long he napped, and any new milestones he learned! My son started Basima's Daycare around February 2021. At the time, he just turned 2 and was not talking. We set up some appointments and he received his autism diagnosis. After the diagnosis, naturally we set up speech therapy and ABA therapy. Basima and Rhea (her helper) were very accomodating with my son's new therapy schedule. Basima also lent some of her time to talk with my son's BCBA so he could get appropriate therapy goals. Once therapy started, Basima and Rhea helped my son in encouraging him to use his words more, to navigate conflicts with peers, to potty train, and to be more independent. My son loves going there. He loves Basima's homemade lentil soup and the new toys she bought to keep the daycare up to date. My son actually started preschool last year and in TK this year but I haven't moved him into another daycare/after school since he likes it there so much. read more

We needed childcare at the height of the pandemic and Basima was recommended by our family, both my brother n law and sister n law used her daycare for their kids. My daughter was 5 months old when she started. She is now 4. She was a highly sensitive child and Basima and Rhea, her helper, showed her the same care she received at home. Always attentive and sensitive to her needs. Basima makes mostly home cooked middle eastern meals. She celebrates the children on birthdays and holidays and makes it a very fun environment. They do activities, arts and crafts, play outside and have more than enough space just to be kids. She takes a very loving but firm approach where needed like forming good habits and behaviors that will benefit you at home and when the kids transition to school. She embraces the children's differences and my daughter has learned so much being around her. She chooses families with the same values and ensures the kids are always safe. I highly recommend Basima's daycare. She is a former teacher from her home country and has raised 3 wonderful children of her own that are now adults. Last December, I switched my 13-month-old son from his first ever home daycare to Basima's. A few things that I was looking for in a daycare that prompted me to switch: 1. Being a nervous, first-time mother, I wanted to get frequent updates from the daycare to see how he is doing; I didn't want to drop him off, not hear anything for 8-9 hours and then pick him up. 2. I wanted to him play and spend time outdoors instead of being indoors all day. 3. I wanted him to have friends (other kids at daycare) who don't all look like him / come from the same background. I was very nervous making the switch given that things were pretty good at his former daycare, but it's a decision I'm glad I made. Basima is very flexible in meeting my communication expectations of frequent communication via text with pictures and videos of how my son is doing. I know she adapts to the needs of parents who may not want so much information. I'm grateful that as a daycare provider, she does a lot more than just take good care of my son, she also strives to make me feel reassured leaving my son with a complete stranger. It has been a year and even with the pandemic, I'm very comfortable sending my son to her everyday. Basima provides food for the kids, but when my son started, I packed his food because I'm very particular about what he eats. Once he was able to chew and eat pretty much anything, I don't pack it anymore. Basima is accommodating to whatever I need. My son went through the initial crying before he adapted to Basima's and he has been happy as a clam playing with friends, dancing, singing there. He recently came home reciting his ABC's and counting all the way to 14 and singing nursery rhymes that I did not teach him. He loves and is loved by the kids at the daycare so it is a big relief to me that he's getting the social interaction that he needs. Basima loves the kids and I can tell from the way she interacts with them and speaks to them--gleaned from the videos that I receive. I can see how much fun they all have and how she teaches them to play well with each other. I'm especially pleased that she acknowledges boys' emotions and allows them to cry and not tell them "boys don't cry". Nowadays, I have great confidence that my son is well-taken care of, loved and definitely pampered when he's at Basima's. Whenever I pick him up he's either running outside in her backyard playing, driving a car, or tucked into someone's lap (he likes to sit in people's laps that he likes). The stress that used to plague me with leaving him with someone else no longer exists. Even if I could keep him at home and have family take care of him, I wouldn't, because he's learning more than I could teach him at home and also getting invaluable social interactions. He'll need to switch at some point for preschool, but I'm delaying that for as long as possible. With all the stresses of life, I'm grateful that my heart externalized is well-loved. read more

I am so glad to have found Basima's daycare. My daughter has been going here for over 2.5 years. We started the daycare when she was 6 months old. Basima and her helped Rhea took care of my daughter as a family. They helped her learn, grow and achieve all her milestones. They took care of her like a family. Leaving your child in someone else's care is a tough decision working parents have to make and when it was time to put my daughter in daycare, my heart sank. I called Basima based on the excellent yelp reviews and she accommodated my request and agreed to meet me within an hour (even though the time didn't suit her) since I was in dire need. I felt an instant connection with her as she gave me a tour of her well kept and spotlessly clean daycare and has ever since been very warm and welcoming. My daughter has been going here since 2 months and takes me by surprise everyday with how much she has learned. She is 21 months old now. I was very apprehensive about my daughter's feedings as she didn't eat well at home, but Basima feeds her with a variety of nutritious home cooked lunch and accommodates to other dietary requests as well after which my lil one seems to nap soundly on a full tummy. She also keeps offering a mix of fruits and veggies for snacks, keeping it fresh and healthy. Basima is also very prompt to reply to text messages and always reachable. The kids at her daycare are read to, sing, dance and work on craft projects. She is also very mindful in planning projects to meet the needs of her kids and watches out for all safety hazards. To sum it up, my daughter is really enjoying herself with Basima and seems very happy and well looked after. I can now focus on my work and not worry about my lil one. Our family is so lucky to have been able to find Basima's Day Care. We looked at a number of day care facilities, both home daycares and larger daycare centers, before selecting Basima's because it was difficult to find a place that we felt comfortable with that we felt could provide the best care for our son, Colin, while we were at work all day. From the time Colin was around 9 months old until he was almost 4 years old (he now goes to Pre-k), Colin loved going to Basima's. We did not want Colin to be at a daycare where he would be sitting in front of the TV all day. Basima's day care is not like that - she plans age appropriate activities, provides nutritious home cooked meals, and has a number of toys and play areas for the children. The moment I walked into Basima's daycare, I knew I have found a safe and happy place for my son and I couldn't have been more right. Basima doesn't seem to take childcare as a job and it reflects in how she deals with every kid in her care. Leaving my kid to her felt more like leaving him to spend time at a fun relative's place. In the beginning, it was hard for both me and my child to transition to daycare environment, but Basima eased both of us through it. Basima and her associate Rhea have always been hands-on with my child's need. They recycle toys every now and then so that kids always have something new to play with. I was always at peace knowing that my child is comfortable, well fed and taken care of. I could request a video or call him if I need to see how he is doing. How he feels about Basima and Rhea shows in how fondly he talks about them. A great little home based daycare. Basima is such a nice woman, I would like to thank her dearly for being so flexible, and caring and understanding to different circumstances. She deals with parents as friends, communicate directly through sms ,, so I know immediately if anything happened to my son during the day (diaper incident, not enough napping, or anything else) She cooks the lunch for the kids fresh in her kitchen day by day so everything is fresh and nicely done. First of, I'd like to say that this place is AMAZING!!! Being that I've just relocate from a different state, I did not have the comfort of family to help me watch my child; as I decided to return back to work after 2 years of raising my son. I felt extremely uneasy in looking for someone to help me care for my picky, bratty prince. Basima was a lifesaver.
