I could not recommend Basima's Daycare more!! My kids, 5 & 2 had never been to daycare or watched by anyone else but family, so I was very hesitant and nervous about finding a place I could trust and my kids felt comfortable. I spoke with and toured a few places and ultimately decided on Basima's after meeting her in person. Her home is setup perfectly to accommodate the children, as well as her backyard. She prepares meals and snacks for the kids, does arts and crafts, singing, dancing and other fun activities. The kids nap while they are there as well. Basima and Rhea send photos and videos of what the kids are doing multiple times per week, which I love! My son, 5, is not the easiest kid. He's high energy but very shy with new people and can be picky. Basima understood this and has been so great with him; making him feel comfortable and never forcing him to do anything. She will even make him something to eat separate from what the other kid's are eating if he is being picky. My 2yr old loves going to daycare and playing with all of her friends! Overall I feel so blessed to have found a place I feel comfortable leaving my children; where I know they are loved and cared for! read more

Our son spent almost two years with Basima, and we could not have asked for a more loving childcare experience. From the very beginning, it felt like more than just daycare -- it felt like family. We could always feel how deeply Basima and Rhea care for him. Basima creates a warm, calm, and comfortable environment where children feel secure and understood. The daycare is clean and inviting, with a great backyard for outdoor play. It's located in a quiet and very safe neighborhood, which gave us a lot of peace of mind every day at drop-off. Basima prepares homemade meals and pays close attention to each child's needs. Our son is a very picky eater, and there were times when she would prepare something different just for him so he would eat better -- something we truly appreciated. Rhea is also incredibly kind and involved, and together they provide thoughtful, consistent care. Each day is kept engaging with activities like crafts, outdoor time, and play with friends, and we saw our son become more independent and social throughout his time there. They make special occasions really fun for the kids. For birthdays and holidays, our son would come home with a little gift or goody bag, and we always received cute photos and videos to remember those moments. Communication has always been excellent. We received regular updates and pictures during the day, and Basima always lets us know about any schedule changes or holidays well in advance -- a huge help for working parents. Now that our son is transitioning to preschool, we know we're going to miss Basima and Rhea very much. They have been such a positive and loving presence in his early years, and we are so grateful for everything they've done for our family. We wholeheartedly recommend Basima's daycare to any parents looking for a safe, nurturing place where their child will be genuinely cared for. read more

"This is an excellent daycare! The home is clean and spacious, and the meal plan is well-thought-out and nutritious. Basima and Rhea are warm and kind - they made my daughter feel very comfortable and cared for. She was constantly learning new things and is so much more social now that she went there. The providers are passionate about working with children. My daughter looked forward to going every day, and I'm so happy my husband and I made the choice to have our daughter attendant Basima's daycare for almost 2 years. read more

We've been with Basima for many years and I can honestly say she feels like part of our family. Both of my kids went there (at different times), and the children genuinely enjoy their time with her. One of the things I appreciate most is that the food is always fresh and homemade. I know my kids are eating healthy meals, which is a huge relief as a parent. The communication is also fantastic -- I get texts, photos, and updates throughout the day so I never feel out of the loop. As a side note, the daycare is located in a very safe, family-friendly, and upscale neighborhood, which adds an extra layer of comfort when dropping off. The atmosphere is nurturing but also structured. The kids are always busy with activities -- crafts, dancing, outdoor play -- and I've seen so much growth in their confidence and social skills. Basima has a natural way of balancing warmth with guidance. Finding childcare you can fully trust is never easy, but for us this has been the best decision we could have made. I recommend her to friends and family without hesitation. read more

My son started going to Basima's Daycare at 3 months, it's has been a year already and we highly recommend her care to future children. As a first time mom who had to go back to work, it was difficult to find an in home daycare that you can trust and accepted infants. I was lucky enough to have found Basima through Yelp, requested a tour and she was very prompt in responding and had a same day tour! My son has had a great experience attending the daycare and even our pediatrician noticed he has developed many milestones and has grown into a social and happy baby. We also appreciate the constant communication from Basima and Rhea throughout the day, sending photos and videos of their activities, communicating how long he napped, and any new milestones he learned! I also appreciate the daily activities they have for the kids such as dancing, arts&crafts, and that they get to play in the patio. Thank you Basima & Rhea! read more

Great communication and couldn't ask for a better daycare experience for our kiddo. I especially liked how many new songs my son would bring back home and share with us since my guy likes to sing :) read more

My son started Basima's Daycare around February 2021. At the time, he just turned 2 and was not talking. We set up some appointments and he received his autism diagnosis. After the diagnosis, naturally we set up speech therapy and ABA therapy. Basima and Rhea (her helper) were very accomodating with my son's new therapy schedule. Basima also lent some of her time to talk with my son's BCBA so he could get appropriate therapy goals. Once therapy started, Basima and Rhea helped my son in encouraging him to use his words more, to navigate conflicts with peers, to potty train, and to be more independent. My son loves going there. He loves Basima's homemade lentil soup and the new toys she bought to keep the daycare up to date. My son actually started preschool last year and in TK this year but I haven't moved him into another daycare/after school since he likes it there so much. read more

My daughter has been attending Basima daycare for 3 years now. We were so fortunate to find an exceptional care from her, especially as my daughter transitioned from her previous daycare and during the covid lock down where things were unprecedented. But Basima was able to provide attentive care and smooth transitioning for my daughter. As parents, it was very comforting she is safe and well taken care for. Both Basima and Rhea love her and created a family friendly and loving environment for her to thrive and to be kind and respectful. My daughter never stops talking about them. We always looked forward to the videos and pictures they shared throughout the week. We will miss Basima Daycare. Thank you again for the amazing time and memory. read more

Basima served our family for over 2 years. She has a great environment, treats all the kids with love and respect. Introduces them to different cultures and foods, keeps us in the loop as of the behavioral lessons. My daughter even talked of buying Basima and her assistant a Christmas present this year. Highly recommend to anyone needing local child care at an in home environment. read more

We needed childcare at the height of the pandemic and Basima was recommended by our family, both my brother n law and sister n law used her daycare for their kids. My daughter was 5 months old when she started. She is now 4. She was a highly sensitive child and Basima and Rhea, her helper, showed her the same care she received at home. Always attentive and sensitive to her needs. Basima makes mostly home cooked middle eastern meals. She celebrates the children on birthdays and holidays and makes it a very fun environment. They do activities, arts and crafts, play outside and have more than enough space just to be kids. She takes a very loving but firm approach where needed like forming good habits and behaviors that will benefit you at home and when the kids transition to school. She embraces the children's differences and my daughter has learned so much being around her. She chooses families with the same values and ensures the kids are always safe. I highly recommend Basima's daycare. She is a former teacher from her home country and has raised 3 wonderful children of her own that are now adults. If you're working parents or just want your child to be around other children, you will feel at ease when away if your child is in Basima's care. read more

My toddler loved going to Basima's care and always had happy stories to tell. He would be excited for his Monday AM, Basima and friends

Last December, I switched my 13-month-old son from his first ever home daycare to Basima's. A few things that I was looking for in a daycare that prompted me to switch: 1. Being a nervous, first-time mother, I wanted to get frequent updates from the daycare to see how he is doing; I didn't want to drop him off, not hear anything for 8-9 hours and then pick him up. 2. I wanted to him play and spend time outdoors instead of being indoors all day. 3. I wanted him to have friends (other kids at daycare) who don't all look like him / come from the same background. I was very nervous making the switch given that things were pretty good at his former daycare, but it's a decision I'm glad I made. Basima is very flexible in meeting my communication expectations of frequent communication via text with pictures and videos of how my son is doing. I know she adapts to the needs of parents who may not want so much information. I'm grateful that as a daycare provider, she does a lot more than just take good care of my son, she also strives to make me feel reassured leaving my son with a complete stranger. It has been a year and even with the pandemic, I'm very comfortable sending my son to her everyday. Basima provides food for the kids, but when my son started, I packed his food because I'm very particular about what he eats. Once he was able to chew and eat pretty much anything, I don't pack it anymore. Basima is accommodating to whatever I need. My son went through the initial crying before he adapted to Basima's and he has been happy as a clam playing with friends, dancing, singing there. He recently came home reciting his ABC's and counting all the way to 14 and singing nursery rhymes that I did not teach him. He loves and is loved by the kids at the daycare so it is a big relief to me that he's getting the social interaction that he needs. Basima loves the kids and I can tell from the way she interacts with them and speaks to them--gleaned from the videos that I receive. I can see how much fun they all have and how she teaches them to play well with each other. I'm especially pleased that she acknowledges boys' emotions and allows them to cry and not tell them "boys don't cry". Nowadays, I have great confidence that my son is well-taken care of, loved and definitely pampered when he's at Basima's. Whenever I pick him up he's either running outside in her backyard playing, driving a car, or tucked into someone's lap (he likes to sit in people's laps that he likes). The stress that used to plague me with leaving him with someone else no longer exists. Even if I could keep him at home and have family take care of him, I wouldn't, because he's learning more than I could teach him at home and also getting invaluable social interactions. He'll need to switch at some point for preschool, but I'm delaying that for as long as possible. With all the stresses of life, I'm grateful that my heart externalized is well-loved. read more

Leaving your child in someone else's care is a tough decision working parents have to make and when it was time to put my daughter in daycare, my heart sank. I called Basima based on the excellent yelp reviews and she accommodated my request and agreed to meet me within an hour (even though the time didn't suit her) since I was in dire need. I felt an instant connection with her as she gave me a tour of her well kept and spotlessly clean daycare and has ever since been very warm and welcoming. My daughter has been going here since 2 months and takes me by surprise everyday with how much she has learned. She is 21 months old now. I was very apprehensive about my daughter's feedings as she didn't eat well at home, but Basima feeds her with a variety of nutritious home cooked lunch and accommodates to other dietary requests as well after which my lil one seems to nap soundly on a full tummy. She also keeps offering a mix of fruits and veggies for snacks, keeping it fresh and healthy. Basima is also very prompt to reply to text messages and always reachable. The kids at her daycare are read to, sing, dance and work on craft projects. She is also very mindful in planning projects to meet the needs of her kids and watches out for all safety hazards. To sum it up, my daughter is really enjoying herself with Basima and seems very happy and well looked after. I can now focus on my work and not worry about my lil one. I would without any second thoughts highly recommend Basima for your child's care. I love her for being affectionate towards every kid who goes to her. I also look forward to updating my review in a few months. Thank you for all that you do, Basima!!! read more

I am so glad to have found Basima's daycare. My daughter has been going here for over 2.5 years. We started the daycare when she was 6 months old. This is great Home Based daycare located in Union city, we had a great experience with our daughter attending Basima's day care. From day one, Basima and her associate care giver Rhea helped our daughter have a smooth transition. She provides balanced meals (home cooked) and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Our daughter always came back home happy. In addition, Basima has always been patient with us and we had a positive experience with her, she was always responsive and really cared about our daughter well being. The only reason we left is because we relocated elsewhere, I highly recommend her daycare. read more

Our family is so lucky to have been able to find Basima's Day Care. We looked at a number of day care facilities, both home daycares and larger daycare centers, before selecting Basima's because it was difficult to find a place that we felt comfortable with that we felt could provide the best care for our son, Colin, while we were at work all day. From the time Colin was around 9 months old until he was almost 4 years old (he now goes to Pre-k), Colin loved going to Basima's. We did not want Colin to be at a daycare where he would be sitting in front of the TV all day. Basima's day care is not like that - she plans age appropriate activities, provides nutritious home cooked meals, and has a number of toys and play areas for the children. I know that being part of Basima's day care and having them as a "second family" has helped Colin to be the happy, fun-loving 4 year old that he is today. I would highly recommend Basima's day care and I look forward to sending our next child to her day care as well! read more

this is a review coming from someone who has worked in childcare for many years and know the "behind the scenes" aspect. The #1 indicator for me on how well my son is taken care of is how happy he is to arrive at Basima's. He blows them kisses when we leave and can't wait to get his car seat off to get in the door of the house. This says a lot. As a mom, it is very hard to leave your child somewhere for 8 hours....the experience of knowing he is well taken care of helps tremendously. I recommend Basima 110%!!! read more

The moment I walked into Basima's daycare, I knew I have found a safe and happy place for my son and I couldn't have been more right. Basima doesn't seem to take childcare as a job and it reflects in how she deals with every kid in her care. Leaving my kid to her felt more like leaving him to spend time at a fun relative's place. In the beginning, it was hard for both me and my child to transition to daycare environment, but Basima eased both of us through it. Basima and her associate Rhea have always been hands-on with my child's need. They recycle toys every now and then so that kids always have something new to play with. I was always at peace knowing that my child is comfortable, well fed and taken care of. I could request a video or call him if I need to see how he is doing. How he feels about Basima and Rhea shows in how fondly he talks about them. Pros - Affection towards kids, clear communication, high regard to cleanliness and hygiene, home cooked meals (vegetarian for my kid), healthy snacks, help with potty training, fun art and crafts aimed towards leaning alphabets, numbers and colors and lot of outdoor play time. Cons - Cannot think of any. I have recommended Basima's daycare to many of my friends and will continue to do so. read more

She pays a lot of attention to the kids and when she updates us about our daughter I can tell that she's taking care of her. Basima also keeps her daycare tidy and clean and if anything comes up that she needs to communicate with the parents such as upcoming holidays and such, she'll let us know with plenty of time. A great little home based daycare. Basima is such a nice woman, I would like to thank her dearly for being so flexible, and caring and understanding to different circumstances. She deals with parents as friends, communicate directly through sms ,, so I know immediately if anything happened to my son during the day (diaper incident, not enough napping, or anything else) She cooks the lunch for the kids fresh in her kitchen day by day so everything is fresh and nicely done. My son enjoyed the time he spent there, and I was happy knowing that i leave him all day in a place he would enjoy like home. and I was also very happy with the way Mrs. Bassima communicated with me about my son's progress and daily habits, and that she was very flexible and understanding of different circumstances and very accommodating which is something that are very hard to find with long waiting lists in other schools and rigid rules. read more

First of, I'd like to say that this place is AMAZING!!! Being that I've just relocate from a different state, I did not have the comfort of family to help me watch my child; as I decided to return back to work after 2 years of raising my son. I felt extremely uneasy in looking for someone to help me care for my picky, bratty prince. Basima was a lifesaver. Upon the 1st meeting with Basima I felt at instant ease with her maternal instinct with all the kids in her care. I love the fact that she's not only extremely knowledgeable in the field. But she and her staff are superb with instilling the positive learning discipline with the kids while fostering and encouraging the children individuality to shine through. I've witness my son's development and learning skill boost with the help of Basima along with her staff creative, fun-filled activities. I am sad that my son is leaving as he has reach the age to attend kindergarten. I will miss watching his happy face saying goodbye to everyone as he calls out all the names of children that he has grown to be friends with when I pick him up after work. I'm sure my son will misses his secondary family. read more
