Just at the time it was my turn, two other helpers arrived. Ugh. (My flight was on time. Don't they know when the planes are arriving?) I am an Emerald Executive Elite with National, so they offered me my choice of vehicles. I'd reserved a midsize and I drove a new-ish Ford Edge all week. Returning was easy. Pick any empty space in the National area, park, record the mileage, drop off the keys, and head to the airline check-in counter. Other than the wait to get the car, this was a very pleasant experience and I'll continue to rent from National. [Review 11071 overall, 844 of 2019.]

But under this merger with Avis, and in…read morethis tight economic climate, their pushiness regarding the extra add-ons is getting really really heavy. So I felt great declining their overpriced additional coverage. But I realized I'd be busy with a bunch of longtime girl friends from college over the weekend in Three Rivers, MI, so I accepted the fuel option. Silly me. Like each one of us had a car so we all piled in 1 or 2 cars. My little rental was so small, it was really useless for those purposes. Hell, I really didn't even need a rental car at all. I should have just asked one of them to come get me at the airport. But no, I took the pre-paid fuel option offered sneakily by Budget, to the tune of $28.95. Ugh. You live and you learn. Upon returning the car, the fellow at the desk asked me for the mileage. What? The sign outside said "note fuel levels". Whatever. Then he asked me for an estimate of how much driving I did. "What? Man just process my dam rental car return." No, really, they use it to "track" something or other. "Well do you want to go outside and look in the car like they do at MOST BIG CITY rental car returns?" No, he didn't. He didn't have time to do that, there was a line. Ugh. Then he wanted to know if I had filled up the car. "Dude, really? Have you really not read the paperwork I just handed in? Are you really so worried about the mileage you haven't even looked to see that I prepaid for your stinking fuel thus o not have to fill the putt-putt-mobile up?" Like my thought ballons said before: "What? Man just process my dam rental car return." This whole thing was irritating and annoying and a big time waster. The people who were in line ahead of me just seemed to hand in their keys and paperwork and breeze on over to check-in for their flights. Why me? What is with the 20 questions bro? Ugh. All this for a lil $20 hundai that I only used 1/4 tank of gas out of. Ugh...

At that moment when my wife became frustrated and wanted to give the vehicle back and ask for our money back it became an issue. Imagine buying a vehicle and not having access to the vehicle after 3 or 4 months of purchasing it, just ridiculous. Since having the vehicle we have spent so much money in repairs on this vehicle that it is completely ridiculous , we refuse to go to them to get it fixed because the last time we took it to them to get something fixed it came back with another issue that wasn't even one of the problems. We ended up going to another dealership, only to pay out of the pocket to fix issues because we didn't trust them to fix it correctly. It seems as if it's always something that goes wrong with this vehicle. It's completely frustrating to have a vehicle that you have had for less than a year and you have put so much money into keeping it together because of issues that has gone wrong with it, and also to be told by other mechanics or dealership that this vehicle should not have been sold with issues like this. It literally took me a while to actually write this post because I honestly feel as if I would want to give a person a second chance to make something right but after talking to them time and time again I was told that some of the issues that was going wrong with the vehicle was nothing that they had contribute to, and I really don't want to get on the subject of warranty that is completely garbage . I tried to be nice but it seems as if being nice won't get you anywhere
