Called today to schedule my mammogram and was told they no longer do mammograms. Very disappointed as I have been going there for years.

Service was completed. Feels like place is ran down, shabby. Front desk was not pleasant, short and snappy. Lobby smells like urine.

Ever watch your father struggle to breathe his last breaths-then see him flatline? Our family did,…read moreand it was under the care of Dr Deraniyagala and Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, MI My Dad was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in June, 2019, and before treatment was ever discussed, Dr Durani's office was calling to set up appt for radiation-like a sales office. We didn't even know who this person was. Sometime in July we met with both Dr Deraniyagala and Dr Oscar Signori, both with Beaumont Hospital. Both put pressure on my Dad to start treatment immediately, or as Dr Deraniyagala said, my Dad, Joseph, would die a "morbid" death. Guess what, Dr Deraniyagala--my Dad Did die a morbid death, but not from tonsil cancer. He suffered and was tortured beyond belief. Drs Deraniyagala and Signori pressured my Dad into getting a feeding tube immedietly, before any treatment. Neither Dr warned my Dad or our family that he was in danger of lung aspiration-in fact, my Dad was told he could eat and drink during treatment, he only needed feeding tube if his mouth was too sore. They didn't tell my Dad that he would probably never be able to eat or drink again as he would be in danger of lung aspiration for the rest of his life. My Dad did as he was told, but suffered for 3 weeks minimum of pain and infection from said feeding tube, yet both of these Drs said it looked fine. Neither Dr took any responsibility for the feeding tube problems, even tho it was they who insisted my Dad get the feeding tube. Dr Durani continued to order radiation treatments, even as my Dad suffered with pain, infection, lung aspiration, hospital acquired pneumonia, and sepsis. My poor Dad, his mouth, throat, and nose all burned and covered with lesions had to endure suctioning with a tube shoved through his nose and down his throat to try to get some mucous out, to which he screamed in torture and said "I don't want to live anymore" We never did get an explanation why the radiation continued despite my Dad's other illnesses. My Dad was promised a conserative treatment-was told if any problems arose, the treatment would be paused or stopped-but it continued to be aggressive. The treatment only stopped when we had to make the difficult, emotionally heartbreaking decision to put him on life support. Then we had to make the unbearable decision to remove my Dad from life support-he lasted about 1/2 hour tops before he died. Lo and behold, cancer is not even listed as a cause of my Dad's death. I urge you to think 5 times about seeing Dr Deraniyagala-and another 5 times if he tries to pressure you into treatment, or promises you gentle treatment-it won't be gentle. Dr Durani talks the talk-but doesn't walk the walk, like any other smooth salesman.

I had an MRI done here recently, and while some staff members were wonderful, the overall…read moreexperience left a lot to be desired. The receptionist was kind at check-in, and the staff member who took me back, showed me the dressing room, and started my IV was incredibly professional and compassionate. If it weren't for her kindness, this review would be even lower. Unfortunately, the MRI tech did not explain anything to me before the scan. As a first-time patient, I wish she had taken a moment to tell me what to expect--the loud noises, beeping, and the movement of the machine. Instead, I had to ask how long the MRI would take, and she seemed unsure, stating she had to check with her supervisor and she just left me in the machine and stated the scan. When she returned, she added contrast without any explanation just telling me not to move or I would have to start all over and left the room without reassuring me or providing any details. After the MRI, I was quite shaken up and I wasn't given any information about when to expect my results. On Monday morning, I called and left a voicemail, as I had never received the email to sign up for the patient portal. I did receive a text link after my call, which was helpful. However, when I politely asked when my results might be ready, the response I received was unnecessarily rude. I wasn't demanding a rushed review--just looking for a general timeframe. Instead, I was abruptly dismissed with comments like: "No idea. There is no estimate. This was JUST done. It was ONLY done on Saturday" etc When I asked if I could pick up the disk, I was met with more attitude: "Well, I don't know why you would. What will you do with that? Do you have another appointment ELSEWHERE?" This lack of basic courtesy and patient communication was frustrating. I completely understand that results take time, but a little professionalism and empathy go a long way--especially in a medical setting where patients may already be anxious. I truly appreciate the kindness of the receptionist and the initial staff member, but the poor communication and dismissive attitude from others made this a stressful and disappointing experience. I would not recommend going here, or if you do, do your own research so you know what to expect.

In April of 2012 I had an ultrasound performed at Southgate Radiology…read more In May of 2012 my insurance company requested additional information before they processed the payment. They sent out four requests for additional information, Southgate Radiology never responded. After that many ignored requests, the insurance company denied coverage. SR then billed me and sent me to collections the same day. I contacted SR and was told nothing could be done about it because it was already sent to collections. Collections told me that they couldn't do anything about it unless SR recalled the debt. I contacted my insurance company (Anthem Blue Cross) and explained everything to them. Two days later I was contacted stating that they got in touch with the appropriate person and got it straightened out. I was then given a confirmation number to reference showing that the insurance company paid the claim. This took until 3/2013. Now it's September 2013 and I received another letter from a collections agency for payment - on the same thing that was paid six months prior! I'd never return to them for anything over this. I make sure everybody I know hears about this and I've advised my family doctor on this so that he knows not to refer anyone else to these people. I'm horrified that a company in the medical field is THIS sloppy with their records and THIS poorly organized!
