The "living room""

Seriously.... For $259 a night. We have 2 chairs to watch tv, no table to eat at, had to ask for more soap. It's very clean. But comfortable? Absolutely not. Never coming back.

door to suite

We stayed 3 nights in the Green Drake suite, a large unit with a king bed in a separate bedroom. The living room has a full size sleeper sofa, lounge chairs, and wet bar. Bistro table and chairs in dining room. The room was very clean. The only negatives were the kitchen did not include utensils and there was no chest of drawers to store our clothes. At check-in I was advised that the continental breakfast was very basic and was offered some suggestions for dining elsewhere. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful so I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Only air conditioner crammed against bed

Do not stay here! This place has changed ownership since we stayed last year, and it shows. We were greeted by an incredibly rude man named Max De Maria who told us he was the new owner, but we later found out he was a mere trainer. The carpet stunk of a new chemical smell and made my husband sick. Max refused to help, but offered a fan. He never brought it. we had to get it ourselves. There were stains all over the nasty sofa, and the only air conditioner was crammed up against the bed so it blew on us all night. The lighting was horrible in bathroom, the door stuck, no screens and we had to leave the window open due to the smell. They also didn't tell us we would be without a room for four hours when we switched rooms the last night! They told me we would have to switch in order to stay four days, but regretted that bit of info. Horrible service. They told us we could store items in the office and then Max refused us, and lost his temper. We got lucky and found a better place nearby immediately, thank goodness! We did not expect luxury having stayed there before, but we did expect cleanliness and good service and were so disappointe.

King bed guest room

I recently was in Snowmass, Colorado for business. In a pinch I needed to stay somewhere nearby and my client booked this hotel for me. Basalt is a short drive from Snowmass and Aspen. I stayed one night in a guest room with king bed, kitchenette and bathroom. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly when I walked into the lobby. She told me all about some local events, gave me advice on places to eat & made me feel very welcome. She also explained that the hotel had recently undergone a large renovation. As soon as I got to my room I could tell everything was brand new with a warm & modern feel. My room was fairly small, but that was fine since it was just me. The free WIFI worked perfectly and didn't sign me off constantly like some hotels do. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown Basalt with a great view of the nearby mountains. There were several good places to eat within walking distance which was great since the weather was gorgeous that night. I had the continental breakfast the next morning which was OK. I typically don't complain about free continental breakfasts since they're free. The coffee was hot & I had some cereal & oatmeal. Nothing to get too excited about, but it hit the spot. While eating breakfast I chatted up a lady at the front desk. She was also extremely friendly. I would highly recommend staying here if you're on vacation or just passing through. The pricing is significantly better than Aspen and its not too far away. With the recent renovations & friendly staff, I would definitely consider staying again.

I rate the hotel a 3 because the beds are comfortable, close to the Highway, great places to eat and most importantly you can open the windows in the room, which is much needed to air it out. The lobby is currently under construction, however there are other more important items to replace. At $180/per night, the hotel should have enough funds to replace the following. * Clean the curtains or remove them * Touch up paint, I'm sure you can get a bulk discount. * Replace shower heads, or use the common hack to remove build up. The water pressure is great, however the shower head is disturbing. * There's only 2 floors, however the stain on the ceiling indicates a larger roofing issue. I'm under the impression high touch areas only applies to beds and bathrooms. I don't recommend this place unless you've been camping where this would be an upgrade. I liked the location, close to highway, Red Hill and the river. So nice of the hotel to provide bikes for exploring the area. If the rooms were $125/per night I'd give it a 4 and recommend. But at $180/per night, they can make improvements. This was my first time staying at a Comfort Inn.

Kelley answered my email questions within 24 hours, at all times of the day and night. That's what I call great service! We stayed in the upstairs suite, which was very comfortable for 4 people. On the weekends they offer a fully cooked breakfast with a pre-determined menu, which was extensive and delicious. John, the owner, is a pretty good weekend Chef! We booked large balcony rooms, on the 3rd floor, that overlooked the village and the ice-skating rink. What a treat with all the Christmas lights in the village. This is a great place for all guests - singles, couples, families and dog lovers. The hotel is contemporary and beautiful; the entire staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are impeccably clean. We did see lots of little children and the family dog, but there's plenty of room to sit, dine, watch the large screen TVs, enjoy the company of family and friends. The hotel had a long list of activities for kids from letters to Santa, photos, face painting, cookies and coco every afternoon and more. The lady who did the face painting was there for hours! She was amazing. The complimentary breakfast buffet is one of the best we've experienced. The "all in one" latte, chai tea, coco, expresso machine was very popular. I loved it. The afternoon Happy Hour menu was delicious and very reasonably priced. Everything we had at the Limelight Snowmass restaurant was delicious. We were skeptical about keeping our reservation as there was a snow drought from Colorado to the West Coast. But the hotel concierge, Tom Rice, assured us that there was plenty to do. He gave us a long list of activities including snowmobiling in the upper mountains (We used Western Adventures, a family run business), snowtubing, sightseeing options, and great places to eat that the locals love. There is a Gondola right across from the hotel, another a short walk that takes you to the shopping mall and upper Snowmass. The hotel provides airport transportation included in your rate. You don't really need a car. The hotel took us to Snowmass restaurants and picked us up. We were very impressed with this hotel and the service you receive. Bottom line... we were spoiled!

Carbdondale is 14 miles away and 20-25 minutes. It is a beautiful drive between the two and was great exploring another mountain town. The Distillery Inn is a breath of fresh air. They offer five rooms. One is downstairs adjacent to the distillery and tasting room. It is handicap accessible. The other four are just up a few sets of stairs and have their own balconies. The room we stayed in Ginger is gorgeous. It is modern and offers a ton of space. The bathroom is large with a closet with safe, large counter with oversized sink, bathroom with sliding door and walk in shower with rain and handheld heads. The bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets. There is a gas fireplace and coffee machine and mini fridge. They do offer a minibar and their own spirits to buy. The room had a couch and desk as well as a patio with two chairs to relax in. On the second floor is an outdoor patio with several tables to sit at. We took advantage of unseasonably warm weather in November to eat meals at. The patio has a beautiful view of Carbondale. They provide daily newspapers and in the hallway for the rooms are additional coffee pods, plates and silverware for eating in your room. The owner Connie was extremely helpful going above and beyond to surprise my wife with flowers. She gave me different options and the vase and flowers were in the room when we checked in. She answered questions we had and helped us troubleshoot a small problem with some of the technology. The tasting room is gorgeous. We didn't spend much time there but enjoued live music from the patio (with fireplace) just outside. They have reserved parking for Inn guests behind the building in the alley. They do have free charging for electric vehicles which is very uncommon. We did buy a few bottles of their Moonlight Espresso and Whiskey and they are both delicious and oh so drinkable. The downtown of Carbondale was quiet but filled with lots of restaurants, shops and mountain hospitality. Looking forward to returning to the Distillery Inn on future visits.

Walking distance to everything, including Main St shops and restaurants, hiking trails and a working farm w/ animals to visit. Five rooms total were perfect for gathering family while each having our own rooms. A rooftop area extended shared areas. Best of all, they distill their own brand of vodka and whisky and serve creative mixed drinks downstairs. You could never find this at a name brand chain hotel. GREAT mattress, a gas fireplace, high end bathroom finishes, stocked mini fridge and in case you need them, snacks for purchase. Bags of ice are steps from each door, along with a little coffee/tea/newspaper area for the floor. No front desk. No office. But the ladies who run the Inn are friendly and efficient, communicating via email and phone. You get a keyed entry code prior to arrival. Small town hospitality without the awkward B&B interactions. We all loved it and will be back again.
