Barwick Parade County Primary School is situated on the Abbots Road estate on Petre Avenue. The school is a Church of England school with a good healthy relationship with the Abbey in the town. The Head Teacher has been appointed at the school for the past 4 years and has successfully taken the school out of 'Concerns' status or 'Grade 4' on their Ofsted report to a successful primary school. With the strong links that have been built Barwick Parade County Primary School recently gained a new Pre-school department through the Sure start initiative. And a Sure Start building where many of their pre-school events are held. The school has a mix range of children from age three to 11. My old primary school so I can't complain too much. If you live in the Abbots Road area of Selby its in a great 2 minute walking distanceand offers plenty of facilities for teaching. Like everything, its changed a lot since I was there and has seen significant improvements in the quality of the teaching making it an ideal and busy school deep within the main housing estates of Selby. read more
