Be advised, you will see some confederate flags on bumpers and such. Internet is non existent, or very very weak.....won't even pull emails. The roads in the park are rutted with deep holes and they have a tall speed bump, so batten down the hatches, because at 5 MPH, that bump will throw your rig around.....40 bucks a night to have locals stare at you and spit chew. So, no, never again. Besides,the oaks don't "whisper" they pelt your rig with acorns, loud obnoxious acorns, 24/7. Every site has multiple oak trees.

If you're looking for a quiet, clean, no-frills place to park your camper and explore nearby attractions, this is it. Pam, the owner, is absolutely lovely--she brought us firewood when we needed it and checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well. Her sweet camp dog, Charlie (a playful lab), even made friends with our old farm dog, which was a heartwarming bonus. The park is very clean, with a laundry room that includes a shower and bathroom. Just know that this is not a resort--there's no pool, clubhouse, or scheduled entertainment. It's a peaceful, working farm with a handful of resident campers, many of whom are in the area for work. There's a small swing set for kids, but not much else in the way of activities on-site. However, the natural charm makes up for it--mini ponies graze in the pasture, and we saw plenty of wildlife, from birds to rabbits and squirrels. The sites are decent, with a mix of pull-throughs and back-ins. Roads are a bit narrow but manageable. Most importantly, it's quiet, safe, and a perfect launching point for nearby fun. Duck River is just 5 minutes away, and Henry Horton State Park is just down the road, making it great for outdoor adventures. If you're looking for flashy amenities and nonstop activities, this probably isn't your place. But if you value good people, calm surroundings, and easy access to beautiful day-trip locations, River Road RV Park is a great find.

I also loved the big field in the middle for my kids to run around and play in. My biggest issue was that they are using pictures on their website that is not of their campground. So definitely false advertising, which will cause us not to recommend this campground or go back. If the photos closely resembled the campground, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. The photos online showed big spots, some with an asphalt pad and picnic tables and fire pits. The spots at the actual campground were all gravel (which isn't a big deal if that was what was advertised) and very tight. We had two vehicles and had to park right next to our rv which made no room for a fire pit, chairs or even cooking on our grill outside. Again, it wasn't that the campground itself was bad or poorly taken care of, it was just not what was advertised on their website.

We were headed to the Bonnaroo Music Festival when it was suddenly canceled the day before due to severe weather. Our trip was literally falling apart before it started. In a moment of desperation, we called Short Creek RV Park. Owner Mike was incredibly kind and understanding, working with us to secure a spot on incredibly short notice. This act of flexibility and hospitality was our first indication we'd found somewhere special. And special it was! The park itself is awesome - beautifully maintained, peaceful, and set in a lovely location. The amenities were amazing; everything was clean, functional, and added to the comfort of our stay. It was exactly the relaxing environment we needed after the festival chaos. But what truly set Short Creek apart was the genuine kindness of Mike and his team. Their welcoming attitude and willingness to help turned what could have been a complete disaster into a genuinely fun and memorable camping trip with friends. We ended up having an extremely good time exploring the area and just enjoying the excellent facilities at the park. It absolutely saved our trip! We cannot recommend Short Creek RV Park highly enough, especially for RVers looking for a friendly, well-equipped, and beautifully kept place to stay with family or friends. I do believe some people live here and some are rental properties. They are spaced out well for privacy and have private drives and parking areas for each cottage. It is near The Caverns and some other cave and mountain attractions. There is a rope course nearby, and lots of hiking opportunities are abound as well. Our little place was clean, well kept, had all the amenities we needed, and was well decorated. Warning. NO COFFEE NEARBY!!! Get you some before you arrive. I keep K pods in the luggage but this had a regular coffee maker with like actual paper filters and stuff. We were only there for a night, but will likely return again now that we know more about it. Beware though.... They are very small. Bunk beds and upstairs are dwarf size areas. Small kids and little people only! I am sure we will see another show at The Caverns at some point in the future. Everywhere shows 5 star reviews but they have it turned off so you can't leave a review on google. This place is a campground with tiny homes. It cannot be described as luxury or gated because the gates were open the whole time. $100 cleaning fee yet you have to wash, dry, and put away the dishes (by hand). The pots/pans were old and scraped up and some dishes dirty. I had to rewash anything before using. The house did have firewood but we were not informed that and ended up adding the $20 firewood package. Don't do this, it was 5 small pieces of wood (literally one split log) and a cheap cigarette lighter. We ended up leaving after a night. House was cute but I didn't feel very safe and the beds were uncomfortable. There's not much to do there and the area is old and run-down.

The managers are horrible mean,judgemental nose in the air snobs. I was there for over a month…read moreduring a difficult period in my life. Completely unfriendly to children. Which I understand every place is not for children and we made a ton of allowances for that still just rude and hateful. So a incident happened which was mostly my fault due to noise caused. But she gave me 2.5 hours to evacuate the suite because it took me a extra 20 minutes to get out of the suite and another 30 to get everything loaded and off property. So at 10:51 I am out and she charged me for a extra day. Not to mention the deposit they conveniently didn't have to return. Another incident the people below me she evicted because it stunk and I told her it was coming upstairs to us and when they moved cockroaches came up into our suit. She came up and tried to blame it on us. And she sat off some nasty bomb in our suite that made us all sick. I'm furious over this treatment and have yet to decide whether to contact our parents attorney. She needs to dress as a witch for halloween cause if the broom fits and it does she needs to ride it.
